So I started seeing Yellow dog veterinary clinic in the last couple of months because my local small town Vet just wasn't able to figure out what was going on with my dog after $1000 worth of test. First off, I got sold on some flea, tick and heartworm medication for my two dogs that was $246 for a three month supply. When I could've got it online for the very same product for $109. And I explained to them I needed to go the cheapest way possible because of all the vaccines and all the blood work they insisted on doing, that my fiancé was gonna be really upset if it was $300. The total being almost $600. Now, a month later, I call them because I have a question about my kitten's blue buffalo wilderness food. I don't want a referral to buy one of their recommended dog food brands like Purina, Iams, Hills science diet, any of that crap. If you read the label, you will see All the toxic poisons and filler that is in those brands. Also, you will see that the exact same thing is in Purina that's in science diet. You just pay significantly more. All I want to know was a couple questions I had about a couple of the ingredients that were in my kitten's food. That's it that's all. Instead I get a text message, (when in my file it says do not text me or email me, only call me,) Telling me nothing about the blue Buffalo kitten wilderness food that I inquired about. But telling me to buy one of their cat food brands that they are paid to push on people. They get kickbacks or percentage from selling those specific brands of food. And like I responded to them I shouldn't have expected anything better because they are not pet nutritionist. They are veterinarians. It's just like if I have a question about what I should or should not eat, my doctor tells me to talk to a nutritionist or a dietitian. Because he is neither. read more

He is straight up and explains things and doesn't add on expensive treatments. He will give you options and help you weigh out what is necessary. Love his staff too! We just left after putting our beloved older cat down. We also put our other older cat down in January. In January it was a peaceful process and they let us go out the back door to make it easier on us. Today after we put our cat down, they wanted us to check out. If I knew this would have happened we would have gone to another vet. We would have happily checked out before having to put our kitty down. We were so full of emotions after having to go through that process and that should have been on them to make sure it was done beforehand instead of embarrassingly asking us as we are ready to leave with tears streaming down our face. It took away our moment of grieving our sweet kitty. I would rate 0 if I could just for that moment at hand. read more

I have been extremely happy with Dr. Stanley and his team. He is extraordinarily kind and thorough in his explanations about what he is diagnosing and how he would like to move forward with a treatment plan. Our dogs are everything to us and he seems to understand that they are not just "pets." We have had no problem getting an appointment or refills in a timely manner. This place wants to force money out of your pocket for something as simple as an ear infection. My sweet boy has been battling it, off and on, and it is always the same meds and same process. All of the sudden they have to see him though. They have to put him under to clip his nails he gets so stressed out and so anxiety ridden when we bring him in. I booked an appointment to get my dog microchipped because it's fairly close to home and has great reviews. Day of my appointment, we arrive and were not told beforehand that we would have to wait outside and no one is allowed inside. Fine, I get it, everyone has their own rules for COVID. Had they told me prior to my appointment as a courtesy, my 8 yr would not have come with me who, of course, suddenly needed to use the restroom. They can't accommodate that so I tell her to hold it til we were done. While waiting out in the cold, windy weather, the vet tech comes back and tells me their surgical tech used the last microchip. Seriously? One would think they'd look at their days appointment ahead of time and I don't know, possibly saved a chip for the one that set an appointment for it a week ago? You'd think they'd have kept inventory of supplies and what each appointment entailed. It's not a restaurant where you run out of ingredients for your menu. So, no...I will not reschedule my appointment nor will I ever come here again. read more

Took my 4 yo dog and my 7 week old puppy for immunizations and annual exams. This was my first visit with my dogs but second visit as they spayed my cat a couple of years ago. I'm so upset with their lack of professionalism. 1) I called last week and spoke to someone extensively about their shot packages for both dogs but did not indicate what I wanted (ie. 1yr or 3 yr rabies, whether they needed bordatella, etc.) Just made an appt for both for shots with no specifics. 2) I wasn't told that it was still curbside drop-off. (I can go to hair salon, nail salon, restaurant, etc - had no idea that vet's were still under a curbside only). This was a big deal and near deal-breaker as I don't know these folks. (should have listened to my gut) 3) When the tech came to my car to get the dogs, I repeatedly ask that the vet call me and said that I had several questions for them. Also expressed my apprehension about handing over my dogs since I didn't know any of the staff. Should have been a HUGE clue to have the doc call me ASAP. 4) 15 minutes after handing over the pups, out walks my 4 yo with a different person than initially. They had given her her vaccines without consulting with me first!!! Gave her a 3 yr rabies. I wanted A 1 year. Gave a bordatella. There wasn't a need for this. My dogs are never boarded! Gave a heartworm test without asking me AND didn't tell me the results Since they only provided an email receipt, it wasn't until I got home that I discovered the tests/vaccines given. They also neglected to give me the rabies tag. 5) I was surprised and, quite honestly, fumbling and stumbling over my words when trying to express why I was so upset and dismayed by the experience. I started asking the questions that I had - how much does my 4yo weigh? - "oh, we didn't weigh her" - what!? An annual exam and you didn't weight her? You've never met her and have no records on her and you didn't weigh her? I wanted her nails cut. Did you check her teeth? Etc. Ultimately, didn't learn anything about her exam other than those 2 questions. 6) 4 yo was taken back inside for a nail cut and STILL didn't weigh her. 7) Then the office manager came out to collect payment. I talked to her and, again, tried to fumble through what I was thinking and feeling. When I brought up the curbside and how I wasn't aware that it was still in effect. Her response, "it's the same way if you go to the doctor". What?! No it's not. Whatever... 8) Called Saturday after I left the office about the rabies tag and they were already closed. Left a message and asked that they call me. 9am this morning, no call so I called them. Was told by the office manager that they mailed the tag. Talked to her again about my lack of content with their lack of professionalism and vaccines and tests that I was charged for without ANY discussion in advance. Her question was, how could we do things differently? I know a brush off when I hear one. I'm betting no call from them would have happened either. It's ok. I'll NEVER be back. And I'm considering fighting some of the charges with my bank. 9) Lastly, the pup...the vet discussed why she shouldn't be vaccinated until next week or the week after that. She guided me on this and I do appreciate that. Also of note, I did make an appointment for the pup but made sure to cancel it today after reviewing the receipt and rethinking the entire experience. Maybe they're good for most but this experience completely ruined them for me. And I really don't care for the office manager's personality. Not going to say attitude because it's a personality issue. She came outside defensive on Saturday and she was defensive on the phone this morning. I never raised my voice. I asked questions and made statements of how I felt. No need to be cold. You're a manager and you told me this morning that you are the person to talk to about my issues/concerns/upset. read more

He is cost conscious while at the same time trying to provide you with top quality of care. Seeing a vet like this is rare! Dr. Stanley is compassionate and employs great investigative skills when needed. He is also open to different types of treatment options. I had a FeLV+ cat, Rusti, and had found a USDA approved product called LTCI to treat the FeLV in 2012. After Dr. Stanley read up on the drug and science behind it, he agreed to give it a try. In short, it worked for Rusti on two different occasions. It was amazing!! Sadly, her FeLV took a different turn and she crossed the rainbow bridge in Jan, 2016. Dr. Stanley has provided excellent care of my fur kiddos for a few years. He will always be my Veterinarian as long as I remain in Indiana. His brand new clinic is large and welcoming. Nicest vet I've ever been to. In fact the entire staff is very friendly and helpful and the office is clean and new. Very happy with the price as well. The Dr. went out of his way to help me with my 90lb dog whom hurt his foot. I am pregnant and had 2 kids under 2 in the car and he came out to the car to look at the dog so that I didn't have to get the dog and kids out and back in the car. The wait time was zero and we were very happy with the results. We will now be bringing all 3 of our dogs here. read more
