Certain produce on display was rotting or outdated and I seen an employee just push the food into the back of the display and walk off.

Prices are too high. Average from .25 to .50 cents per item more then HEB in Mexia. . Adds up when your on a fixed income.

Walk up counter service with a menu split neatly into cold cut and oven baked sandwiches. Going with the Devito, my mind was thoroughly blown by how flavorful the red sauce and meats were all together, it had a combination of textures from the crusty bread cured cuts that made it fun to chew through every bite. My Stallone was also just such a pleasant mix of flavor with the pesto playing a bigger role on the cold cut options. This is one of the places where I feel like you can spin the wheel and get a winner with whatever fate decides. Things seem pretty easy and affordable here. Portions were pretty big here and around $12-$15 a sandwich, more than enough for a single person with some for a midnight snack later. There's a good bit of seating inside with some red gingham table clothes to eat over. It's worth the visit if your in Montgomery or after a day on the Lake!

I'd have to say, the sandwich was pretty life changing and it's something I want to try to replicate, but likely can't 100%. Although they have many sandwiches to choose from, the Stallone was the one recommended to me. The bread is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and has a concoction of pesto, cheese, tomato and garlic? Inside it's LOADED with capicola, ham, salami, soppresata, and provolone. The sandwich was definitely a flavor bomb and I still think about it til this day. I would love to go back and try some other sandwiches of theirs too!

Walking into the building you wouldn't think much of the place, but once you get into the restaurant you feel like you are in a typical Texas roadhouse. Cozy, warm, homey, and delightful all around. I asked the waiter if the burger was cooked properly or the Houston style (burnt to a crisp and disgusting). Fortunately, being so far away from Houston, I was assured the burger would be nice and juicy: indeed it was. Fresh cut, perfectly fried okra alongside a juicy burger made this meal perfect. I wish I could give this place a diamond rating. Texas Michelin Star Worthy for sure. Got to meet Billy as well. True gentleman. I'll be back, even though it's a 5 hour round trip visit, this place is nestled amongst some beautiful countryside. So very happy I stumbled upon this true gem

Fried zucchini is about as fresh as you can get! I had the chicken fried steak with onion rings and beans. Wife had chicken fried chicken with potatoes and broccoli rice casserole. And while the other one is great and fabulous, this one is one star better. A huge selection of baked goods, coffee, decor, clothing, drinks and more. The Kissing Pig Cafe has so many food options, too! Mrs. K. has not had a kolache in years and she's now pescatarian which presents certain challenges. It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. So much great stuff to choose from here and very, very clean restrooms. If you're overwhelmed by that massive baked goods counter, just ask for recommendations. They'll get you sorted for sure! Excellent selection of kolaches and klobasneky. You can also buy sandwiches. Minus: as on previous visits, I have found that they are often out of poppyseed and prune kolaches. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.
