Susan was very helpful in helping plan our trips to the wineries and to the surrounding towns for dinners.

It had just snowed, and the whole area felt quiet and peaceful -- the perfect setting for a getaway. The hotel itself is beautiful without trying too hard. A room nearby had been used in a Helen Hunt movie, which was a fun surprise. Thoughtful details everywhere, but nothing over the top. They left us a little snack of locally grown walnuts -- such a simple touch but it totally hit the spot after a cold day out wine tasting. It's in a great location in McMinnville, easy walk to restaurants and shops, and super close to a lot of tasting rooms. I'd definitely stay again.

As others have said, they are one of very few lodging options in this area, so they do have a captive audience. The $500/night room rate is ridiculous, considering the lack of any real amenities. It felt like an economy hotel that tricked you into thinking it was fancy using high prices, really nice decor and an espresso machine. There was no soundproofing at all and you could hear every word being said in the next room. Bring your white noise machine if you are a light sleeper. Front desk staff could benefit from hospitality training (smiles are free). On a positive note - great location, the beds were very comfy and pretty fresh flowers in the lobby.

The breakfast was tasty and light. And the room itself (the lilac room) was just lovely. Definitely worth a visit for anyone looking to spend the weekend in McMinville!

Even though it is called the Lavender suite, the room's color decor is more into blues. It was nicely furnished with a comfortable king size bed. There was a sitting area with a table and chairs as well as a loveseat. The house had air conditioning as well as a fan in the room for those nights you would rather have the windows open. The room has a nice large private bathroom with both a jetted tub and a glass enclosed shower stall with bath products provided. There is a small fridge (think dorm room size) outside your room in the common area on the second floor. Wi-fi is provided. Parking is on the street, but as the house is on a corner lot, you have plenty of spaces on the two streets. The town is small, 3000+ people. The nearest tasting room is about 2 blocks away and Main Street (restaurants and more tasting rooms) is another block further along. The location was great for Carlton. Of course, the breakfasts were the attraction. I mean, that's why you stay at a B&B. Started off with a fresh fruit plate, followed by nuts, raisins, and cheese, then a main dish of eggs or French toast, depending on the day. Mike does a good job of presentation for his dishes. I left the table feeling full, ready for a day of wine tasting. Mike and Roselyn run an efficient B&B. We were happy with our stay.

We especially appreciated heated bathroom floors, double showerheads and the lavender bath salts for a bath . The pastoral sunset views from the room calms the soul. The breakfasts are a special event that we looked forward to. They make it fresh and hot every morning at 9am. Inkeeper Sherwood loves to explain every item he made for you. They make delicious juice and coffee. There is always snacks and tea in the house. There is also wine hour daily. They were sweet to reserve our parking by an electric charger since we have an electric car. We highly recommend staying here! One of the best B&B's we've stayed at!

The innkeeper was quite intense and frequently interrupted us throughout our stay, repeatedly referring to us as "kids," which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. During breakfast, the interruptions were so frequent that it was difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. We had specifically booked our room for the hot tub, but it wasn't hot during our stay. When we mentioned it, the response was that there had been kids in it the night before and maybe something had gone wrong. No solution, alternative, or adjustment was offered. While the property itself is beautiful, the overall experience was not relaxing, which is what we had hoped for in a bed-and-breakfast.
