After the florist I have been to for over 10 years screwed up badly a few times consecutively, I decided to change (the biggest failure of any business is losing loyal decade long customers over incompetence to deliver what customers request and paid for). The first couple of times were exceptional good with my orders here. However, the last 2 times I needed to ask them to redo the whole floral arrangement and design (funny how I have to tell them what to add and how to wrap it :facepalm) I paid extra for that which I didn't mind cause most of the time we buy flowers for special occasions such as birthdays, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, etc... a decent florist or flower shop should keep that in mind. Can't just whatever with a flower order especially a customer pay good money for them (can't be the same result as me picking a few dandelions off the sidewalks, wrap it with a sandwich bag and voila.. call it the day). Anyways ordered a dozen of pink rose bouquet for a relative's birthday (preordered it a few days ahead, website said $72 but store charged me $92 before tax... perhaps update your website?) When I went to pickup the rose bouquet, I was literally speechless. It's utterly one of the worst bouquet of roses I have ever seen, I literally could've pickup one from Safeway for $19.99 and would've been 10x more pleasing to look at. The roses look as it just did a marathon at the Sahara desert, some of the leaves have bug bites and a 5 year old could've done the wrapping better. I was too embarrassed to give it as is, had to go home to put the roses in a glass vase with some water, trimmed off the bug bite leaves, rewrapped it. I would've just ask for a refund if time wasn't tight. (:facepalm) Seriously, it is unacceptable because just like I said most flower orders are for a special occasion or special someone (seldom to an ex and hope they choke on a bug). I don't need an apology or want anything in return, but please deliver a product at least presentable for what your customers paid for. Unfortunately wouldn't be a repeat for me, this was the 3rd time it failed to deliver. (maybe it's time for me to secretly borrow my neighbours roses from his rose bed and master the artistry of being a good florist). Are good florists hard to find nowadays or the creativity is fading like a flower??

The pricing vs. quality feels completely out of sync, and the presentation did not match expectations at all. This location is the much worse lotus florist than the Brentwood mall location. This experience felt misleading, and I wouldn't come back or recommend it to others. RUN. UPDATE: In response to the manager's private comment--some issues can't be resolved behind the scenes. When customers pick up flowers they've paid for and pre-ordered days in advance, they reasonably expect them to be fresh and presentable. Receiving withered blooms and leaves damaged by insects on an important occasion is unacceptable. Not everyone has the time to wait for a fix, especially on the day the flowers are needed. This review is public and remain on the top so future customers can be aware of real experiences and make informed decisions, rather than risk running into the same situation. Come 2013 and we were looking for our own wedding florist, and we were given GJ House's contact information. Run by Gary and Jane, their florist shop is also a convenience store in New Westminster, located right along the bridal dress shop district. The store is completely unassuming, they don't even have their own website, and it seems like most of their floral business is done through word of mouth. The flowers they made for our wedding were absolutely beautiful and far exceeded my expectations (see photos!). The majority of our correspondence was done through email and phone, as we were planning our wedding long distance in Alberta (the wedding was in BC). We did arrange for an initial consultation in person as well as another meeting a week before the wedding to finalize flower type and color choices. It's always nerve wracking when planning your wedding, and even more so when you don't always know what to expect of a final product. On the day of the wedding when it came time to pick up the bouquets and boutonierres, (they also deliver to the venue for a fee), my husband sent me a photo preview and Jane was waiting and ready to make any changes. I was blown away, they were beautiful! Their prices CANNOT be beat and the bouquets, ceremony flowers, and centerpieces were gorgeous. You definitely get your bang for your buck as my bridal bouquet was huge! We received many compliments on them from our guests. We couldn't be more pleased with Gary and Jane's work and would be happy to recommend them to others.
