I took her out of there and had her sent to the hospital. Peachtree was supposed to get her better, instead they were letting her die. She left there with Parotitis (an infected salivary gland which causes painful swelling of the parotid glands), severe dehydration and a uti. The nurse told me the soreness in her jaw was a crick in her neck. What a dumbass. They didn't even have a doctor check it. Her tongue was bleeding and the corners of her mouth were bleeding by the time I got her to the ED. She couldn't even open her eyes or talk at this point. She was limp and lifeless. We visited mama every day and even met with the nurse and a case worker to let them know that we were not happy with mama's care or progress. It only got worse. Two days later is when I took her out of there. I believe, no doubt, that my mother would be dead had I left her there. This is the place nightmares are made of. Stay away from it!

Came to visit my step brother who is a resident of Manna Acute Care Facility. I am from out of town…read moreso my review is of my experience for two days of visits. The building is a bit older but is kept up fairly well. The smells of a care home are present but not as strong as some other care facilities that I have been to due to the staff always cleaning. The staff are wonderful and friendly and seem to take great care of their residents. Two people particularly stood out from my visit, Candice who was very friendly and was the one of the primary nurses assigned to my step brother's area. He required a lot of attention and Candice was always very polite and patient and assisted my stepbrother as best as she could. We also met Cam who was also very friendly and seems to genuinely care for the residents. He always had a smile on his face and would give a smile to residents as he passed by them. He told me he loved his job and that he genuinely cared for the residents. It showed watching him work for 2 days during my visits. I rarely post reviews but because I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome this place was, I thought I would write a review to let people know of my awesome experience at Manna Acute Care in Pickens, SC.

She was severely dehydrated and she told us she asked for water all day yesterday and you failed to bring it to her..She said the care there was awful and everytime we went and spoke to anyone about it we were told it got handled or they don't know what we were talking about-- so she is back in the hospital today.....now let's talk about the facility it smells like the back end of a horse...people in wheel chairs rolling around with their pee bags so full it's spilling on the floor. It's AWFUL. When I say I wouldn't let my dog stay here- I wouldn't. I seriously wouldn't even store barn animals here. I mean just walk in the front doors of this place it's like an adult playground. You have to literally go around a maze of elderly people in wheelchairs chairs to get through the front desk and door and don't forget hold your nose or you'll pass out from the strong smell of piss as you pass through the hallway to make your way to the back to see your family who is in rehab who is clearly not even in rehab they just sit back there in bed...Take your review for yourself once you walk in I mean I literally don't even have to say anything. Oh and by the way they sent us home with someone else's paper work. So that's a HIPAA VIOLATION. They called us wanting us to bring it back up there and so that means we went home with ZERO paperwork for our patient. THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! I cannot believe we had her there. I honestly will never forgive myself for having her here and I don't know how any of those people that work there even sleep at night. Upon arrival, it was made clear that my father was having trouble eating and could not digest much. Was on a soft food diet. Staff would drop off meals that did not abide by his diet, then there was no checking in to see if he ate or drank anything. The meal would be dropped off and then picked up without anything being eaten. My father essentially starved for 6 days before being rushed to the emergency room. As well as due to his neurological condition, he was unable to stand or walk, therefore could not get himself to the restroom. My father was left soiled for over 3 hrs with no one to check. If you have family or loved ones here, either have them moved or make sure they are being properly cared for. Would not recommend this facility to my worst enemy

(2/16/22) I was moved from L Tach yesterday afternoon to this faculty two floors down. Everyone was…read morefriendly. My nurses Michael and Kris got me settled in. I actually had fun with my night shift nurse, Cheryl. I had to sign some paperwork and answer questions about my health & lifestyle. It was 00:30 before we finished. I wasn't very happy with them wanting to ultrasound me every time I urinated. But that was less painful than the blood draw that Cheryl attempted at 05:00. She tried two times, once in my arm and once in my hand. She was unsuccessful both times and I was crying after the hand stick. I was very unhappy to learn that they draw blood every Monday. Just what I needed, get woken up early to be in pain & cry. Atrium is nearly becoming a place that I never want to visit again. But I have to be open minded. I've been having a great time with my physical therapists and occupational therapists. They push you hard but they know what you are able to accomplish. I came here three days ago and I'm already up and walking with the aid of a walker. I can also propel myself around in a wheelchair! I was able to take a shower yesterday, the first time in over two months. I'm also way ahead of the goal that I set for myself. I wanted to walk to the gym. Yesterday I walked to the gym and back. Time to set a new goal. The wound care team has been using electro-therapy and a saline wound wash. The wound wash is a futuristic looking pistol that washes a wound with saline. It also sucks up the dead tissue at the same time.
