Whenever I visited, I was treated warmly, and my father was always resting comfortably in a clean room and a pristine bed, with carefully laundered, comfortable clothes. He had dementia, so he was unable to tell us how the staff was treating him (and never having been the type of person to complain) we had to take non-verbal cues. All the cues pointed to a staff that was both patient and caring. Trust was essential to us and something we considered heavily before deciding on a place for our beloved father. During his final days, our family experienced feelings that I cannot properly put into words here. Likewise, I am unable to express how sensitive the staff was in their treatment of my father. I imagine that they deal with loss on a regular basis, but never once did they regard our grief casually. My father was a kind, gentle, man and was known for his singing voice, his whistling, his love of jazz and his love of the Word. The staff made sure he was able to enjoy all these things during his final days. They all knew him by name, and said he was easy to care for and easy to care about. This was evident in their heartfelt farewell. You can not pay someone to care, and [care] is what they did here. Perhaps I have not adequately relayed, but in my heart I will absolutely, always appreciate every last member of this staff for giving of themselves so selflessly, when it counted most.

Came to visit my step brother who is a resident of Manna Acute Care Facility. I am from out of town…read moreso my review is of my experience for two days of visits. The building is a bit older but is kept up fairly well. The smells of a care home are present but not as strong as some other care facilities that I have been to due to the staff always cleaning. The staff are wonderful and friendly and seem to take great care of their residents. Two people particularly stood out from my visit, Candice who was very friendly and was the one of the primary nurses assigned to my step brother's area. He required a lot of attention and Candice was always very polite and patient and assisted my stepbrother as best as she could. We also met Cam who was also very friendly and seems to genuinely care for the residents. He always had a smile on his face and would give a smile to residents as he passed by them. He told me he loved his job and that he genuinely cared for the residents. It showed watching him work for 2 days during my visits. I rarely post reviews but because I was pleasantly surprised at how awesome this place was, I thought I would write a review to let people know of my awesome experience at Manna Acute Care in Pickens, SC.

She was severely dehydrated and she told us she asked for water all day yesterday and you failed to bring it to her..She said the care there was awful and everytime we went and spoke to anyone about it we were told it got handled or they don't know what we were talking about-- so she is back in the hospital today.....now let's talk about the facility it smells like the back end of a horse...people in wheel chairs rolling around with their pee bags so full it's spilling on the floor. It's AWFUL. When I say I wouldn't let my dog stay here- I wouldn't. I seriously wouldn't even store barn animals here. I mean just walk in the front doors of this place it's like an adult playground. You have to literally go around a maze of elderly people in wheelchairs chairs to get through the front desk and door and don't forget hold your nose or you'll pass out from the strong smell of piss as you pass through the hallway to make your way to the back to see your family who is in rehab who is clearly not even in rehab they just sit back there in bed...Take your review for yourself once you walk in I mean I literally don't even have to say anything. Oh and by the way they sent us home with someone else's paper work. So that's a HIPAA VIOLATION. They called us wanting us to bring it back up there and so that means we went home with ZERO paperwork for our patient. THINK TWICE BEFORE TAKING YOUR LOVED ONE HERE! I cannot believe we had her there. I honestly will never forgive myself for having her here and I don't know how any of those people that work there even sleep at night. Multiple missed doctor appointments, MRI has been missed. Heart monitor was not done, until 45:days after the doctor ordered it. My mom laid there for 2 days after having a stroke before she was taken to hospital. Stroke on Wednesday, I go in on Thursday mom can't, tell them she needs to go to hospital. They took her the next day, Friday. Then when I show up and call 911, the assistant manager I guess came out told the paramedics I didn't have access to my mom's medical records. I went up my van to get my mom's medical records and ambulance drove off. It's all about money And only if they choose to tKe care of your family member. Negative 10 stars.

He talks a good game but cannot get the PRN's and CNA's to take care of my mother in law to be professional and caring when my wife makes requests for her care. My wife gets push back from some not all of them. This is a private pay account and they treat her as a visitor in a 6K room a month which we view as my mother in laws house. She and anyone in this place should be treated by every member of the staff with care and dignity not as a case work. These residents are her for care. So to get to the rehab part of this review. When we first brought our family to this facilitythe rehab and care were phenomenal. We are now being told they will no longer help my mother in law with PT after the orthopedic doctor requested 6 more weeks. This is the same physical therapist when my mother in law returned to the facility where she fell and broke her hip and not long after that her shoulder, told my wife "There is no need to do therapy because she will continue to fall and eventually be in a wheel chair the rest of her life. This therapists name is John and I cannot believe he has more pull than an orthopedic doctor. He denied us one we appealed the decision and won and he has now denied care again. This is the saddest thing I have personally had to deal with. I can't get over how a care giver would not want to help an individual get better or maintain their mobility to the best of their ability. This place has very nice walls but after a look inside it is one of the worst thing we have ever done for our mother. I am compelled to let others know what they may face in Autumn Care of Cornelius. It was recommended by the hospital that I receive rehab after treatment for a severe break in my femur. I was given a list to choose from with star ratings. Autumn Care of Cornelius had only a 2 star rating, but a woman visited my hospital room and really encouraged me to try their facility-- that the poor rating was an old rating and they were a 4-5 star facility currently. She showed beautiful pictures and we were impressed with what she had to say. I checked other ratings online and the ratings were wide ranging. We decided to give it a go because it was close to home. As I was being transported to the place, I got a call from a neighbor warning me that many of the members of the neighborhood were "aghast" that I had opted for Autumn Care of Cornelius. I figured "What the heck--I am pretty laid back, easy to please, and it's only for a few days anyway". I am so sorry I didn't listen to them. I have been treated for years for chronic pain, due to a failed spinal fusion and peripheral neuropathy. As a psychologist, I am well aware of the dangers of addiction and opioid use, but my treatment at ACOC was nothing less than torture. My pain level from the accident was extreme, but it was never treated adequately. They would only give about half the medication I was taking for pain PRIOR to the accident. My new injury wasn't being treated at all and it was joined by pain from my prior condition. After hours of unrelenting pain, I begged them to contact my pain doctor and my husband even brought in my prescription bottles to show them my baseline pain treatment levels, but they wouldn't budge. They said since I was scheduled to leave the facility for an appointment with my pain doctor in 2 days, that I could just have him send recommendations back with me and they would honor them. I suffered through 7-8 level pain for 2 days, came back from my appointment with recommendations of my regular pain treatment plus a little extra that I could request for an extreme break out of pain. I was so relieved that I was going to get some relief, but very little changed in the next day, so I demanded to be released. They tried hard to convince me otherwise. One nurse tried to explain that some of the staff were misreading the dosage of the pill given (no excuse at all!) Ironically, the Physical Therapy team was outstanding, but I can't recommend you send your loved one there due to the unresponsive medical team. It is hard to give even 1 star. I encourage you to heed the warnings that I ignored.

Burgers, a few sandwiches, wings, pizza and such are available to eat here in the common dining area or to take back to your room. Service is very respectful and polite to the elderly patrons, but could be more attentive on servicing things like drink refills. The sodas are brought out in two 6 oz cans with a cup of ice, nice way to keep it freshly carbonated. Not open to the public, but a good way for me to visit my dad on a relaxed Sunday afternoon.

It's considered the end of the line! But I made a discovery today that's somewhat changed my perspective of this dreadful facility. It's been split into two parts. The part that is the last destination for patients is called Brookview. The second half of this place is now called Magnolias and it's for rehabilitation purposes! Patients not considered to be terminally assigned. I visited my old friend there today and I did it with trepidation! My many previous experiences here have been horrifying and disgusting! At any rate my old pal was in a private room that was very acceptable! The Magnolias portion did not smell bad and I didn't see any residents strapped to wheelchairs! The Brookview side is mostly filled with Medicaid patients crammed four people to a single room. Horrid smells and incoherent language with patients crammed together like sardines in a can is the norm! Magnolias on the other hand did not appear to be that way at all! Additionally; this review is about the physical facility and not the fantastic nursing staff at both places. I cannot thank the employees here enough for keeping a great attitude while working in challenging conditions! It takes special people to care for those who cannot help themselves!
