First opened as a market in 1919, Broad Brand Market remains a local institution. More than a general store, it's a community gathering spot. Open every day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., the little market has a lot from a deli section, a bakery that sells pastries and ice cream, and aisles full of wine from around the world, a spice section, and any basic household good you need. There are public restrooms by a shelf of free books. There's outdoor seating where neighbors gather, enjoying the store's ice cream.

Excellent selection and the sandwiches tasted great! Everyone was busy at work but extremely helpful when I had questions.

This location is very spacious and offers a wide range of items, including pre-cooked meals,…read moreflowers, fresh baked goods, hot bar, and produce. While some items, especially the ready-to-cook meals, are on the pricier side, you can still find great deals with their private-label products. I really enjoyed the alcohol selection. They carry everything from casual everyday wines to reasonably priced bottles that are actually quite good. The section is well organized, which makes it easy to browse. They also have hard liquor and beer, so most people will be able to find what they are looking for. Another big plus is the number of self-checkout stations, so I did not have to wait in line. The parking lot can be a bit confusing and chaotic depending on the time of day, so keep that in mind. Do not forget to get your parking validated before leaving the store.

I've shopped at this Wegmans numerous times, both in person and via Instacart. Generally speaking,…read morethe produce here is fresh, reasonably priced, and the overall experience is unproblematic. I am part Russian and occasionally crave pierogi (vareniki); Wegmans is one of very few stores that sell fresh refrigerated pierogi (these are much better than the frozen ones). The last few times I instacarted these, I put them in my fridge and a few days later, after opening, I noticed they were moldy. One time I even put them directly in the freezer, and when I opened them they were moldy. I kind of gaslit myself and figured it was my fault for waiting too long to cook them. Well, yesterday I went to Wegmans in person and saw stocked moldy pierogis!! I mean several of the packages had visible mold. I cannot believe Wegmans is selling these, and clearly this is an ongoing issue for months. This really makes me question buying fresh food from Wegmans, given this wasn't a one off. Hopefully this is just limited to the pierogis, which is a specialty product that I assume doesn't have high turnover. Nonetheless buyer beware!! Wegmans, please fix!

If you've been in one Trader Joe's in your lifetime, you know the layout is pretty much the same…read more However, this is one of the largest of the few in the area I was in, which was on Wisconsin Ave. What sets this apart from where I live in Maryland is the fact that in Maryland you cannot buy wine in grocery stores or places such as Trader Joe's and on top of that the wine/liquor prices in Maryland are outrageous. Therefore, for that moment I felt like I was in heaven when I stopped in and saw the wine selections, my heart was happy, I felt like I was back home in Seattle, WA, and for those of you who have never been to Washington State, one thing you need to know is this, you can buy beer, wine and liquor very late at any grocery store, 7-11, gas stations and/mom & pop stores in and outiside of the city and that's why I was so happy to see Trader Joe's in DC had the option to shop for both groceries libations (wine). The staff members are always happy to help you find items, and customer service is always great, in my opinion. I love me some Trader Joe's, even if I'm not able to purchase wine at my local Trader Joe's, or not is still my favorite place to shop for my groceries since I eat the same thing I already know how much I'm going to spend on griceries. and I will take the drive. However, now I will make the drive to DC to do both when I can. After all, I'm a road warrior. Again, this is just my opinion and experiences. Love U!

I regularly go to the Glover Park location so am quite familiar with the layout, but I must say this location is spacious and even when it's busy, it's rarely overwhelming. Also the staff here are what makes this location so great! They are always so friendly, fast, and efficient! I have been to other locations where there was a lack of friendliness and efficiency, and these qualities really make the difference. Trader Joe's also still manages to have reasonable prices in DC which I appreciate. Lastly, they have free parking which is always a bonus.

If I could give this store zero stars I would. I try not to shop here as the store is small and…read morecramped. I ran in for a single item today and tried to pay at the self checkout. There was no sign stating CC only, so I tried to use cash. I put in $1 and the machine started flashing and stated I needed help - ugh. The people next to me also had flashing. The person helping was ... standing there NOT helping anyone. She came over when I waved her down. She said that machine isn't set up for cash. Funny, no sign and the machine allowed me to select cash as a payment. The person behind the desk then got involved. The machine was showing that there was $1 in payments with $1.49 left. She cleared the machine and then said there was no money in the machine. Um - the machine was claiming a money jam - you're saying there isn't any. I'll NEVER go back.

The deli counter service is nonexistent on Mondays. This Safeway has a Monday deal on its chicken…read more(roasted and fried), yet never has the roasted chicken available. I've been now FOUR straight Mondays and no roasted chicken. And, every SINGLE time I ask when more will be ready, they always say 30 to 40 minutes. I literally waited the 40 minutes two weeks ago and came back to the deli and the deli staff person told me (different person than 40 minutes ago) that he just got in and it would be 30 to 40 minutes!!!! I go at 3 pm, no chicken, i go at 430, no chicken, i got at 530, no chicken. When there isn't the "deal," there's always roasted chicken, but on Mondays, there's "30 to 40 minutes." Bait and switch much?!? This time, i talked to the manager (just arrived on shift today at 530) and told her that this keeps happening. She walked away from me as I was taking to her TWICE. I asked for a rain check since this is the 4th straight time and was dismissed. They actually don't seen to care at all. And it's always the same deli staff telling me it'll be 30 to 40 minutes. They know me by now but don't seem to care about this. They have the fried chicken and the habenero chicken, just never the roasted chicken. My daughter loves the roasted chicken, but not on Mondays I guess.
