I have always enjoyed coming to Brother's, but I was extremely disappointed this last visit. It was busy, but I waited over 30 minutes to be served (still was never served but my friend ordered for me instead), all while new people came up and were served within 5-15 minutes. I was being deliberately ignored despite being completely sober, friendly, respectful, and patient. I payed $5 for entry to be completely ignored and never served. The manager's excuse was that the bartender was "new and from a small town".... while he seemed perfectly competent to serve everyone but me. I normally don't complain but while my friends were repeatedly severed by the same bartender, I was ignored and we weren't offered any compensation or a free drink or anything even though the manager admitted the bartender was in the wrong. The drinks were cheap, and it wasn't a terrible selection of beer, though they had tapped the kegs of beer I wanted by the time I got there (10pm on a Friday - wtf?) so I was left with little choice. The prices are reasonable, but I suppose that's compared to the Northeast. It was crowded there, and they could use some more hightop tables, but overall it's a decent place to hang out and chat (or yell over music) with your friends. It's also pretty easy to get to, and it's downtown, so why not? We'll probably be going back the next time we're in the city. read more

This wouldn't be such a bad place if the lines weren't so damn LONG. But I guess I shouldn't judge it by that, since it is coincidental. It's a cool place, roomy with plenty of seating. The bars got a nice selection on draft and a cute girl wheels around an ice tub with bottles. The wings aren't bad, kinda small with not much meat on them, but if you go after 9 p.m. they're 15 cents a piece. So for that price, I don't care how good they are lol. But it is a good deal and for an extra 25 cents you get ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce, which is pretty good. Unless you just gotta have the spicy Assburners (yes that is what they're called), I recommend the Mild and Honey BBQ wings. As I said before, the lines can get pretty damn long. I went for the first time last night and my buddies and I waited for probably 1.5 hours. Just go with some friends, have a couple beers and shoot the shit while you wait. For the price, you're getting an excellent deal on some wings. read more

First off let me say that if anything this bar deserves a 3.5 stars but since I'm not able to break it down as such a three will have to do. Brothers Bar & Grill is a nice little spot where you can grab some cheap drinks and enjoy a good time whenever. The service at Brothers is a bit weak but not bad I guess, during their most busy hours of operation I find that you can get your drink in a reasonable amount of time MOST of the time and like most bars it's not bad. The prices (especially on drinks) are cheap compared to most bars on O Street and you don't typically have to worry about breaking the bank here. The atmosphere is that of your standard college town "Main Street" bars. It's a big place, plenty of seating at and around the bar, there's a dance floor that's big enough for you to get your groove on (should you desire) and also a single bowling lane etc. The Three star rating means "A-OK" which is exactly what this bar is, it's okay and I'm sure I'll be back there from time to time. It's big, usually has a good fun crowd, cheap drink prices, and all around is worth a stop. If you're a bar-snob you probably won't like this place, and to be honest it's not altogether my cup of tea either but it is what it is, and that's an alright bar for cheap drinks and drunken fun. read more

We visited Lincoln recently and spent some time at Brothers before the Nebraska/Ohio State football game. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming of everyone, including the Ohio State fans. The burgers were some of the best we've had. The sides (French fries and cheese curds) were very generous portions and also delicious. The atmosphere was comfortable and enjoyable. After the game, the bar was packed and everyone seemed to be having a great time. We highly recommend Brothers Bar and Grill and will visit again the next time we're in Lincoln! read more

Brothers is one of the most inhospitable bars i've ever been to. My friends and I were treated rudely by the staff and we had to wait an eternity for our drink orders to get filled. To put it a little more succinctly, if you're in your late 20s or in your 30s, these pricks are going to ignore you. If you're a frat brother or a sorrority sister they'll go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The staff's disdain and utter contempt for clientele 30 or older could not be more obvious. I guess the management is of the opinion that since P.O. Pears went out of business they have some sort of mandate to serve the college crowd. Problem is, that restaurant never treated it's older customers quite as shabbily or with as much utter contempt as Brothers. I know for sure I won't be going there ever again. read more

It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be! Ok yeah, I'm pretty sure this is where all the guys that drive Ford Mustangs and wear Tapout hang out but even so.... Came here on a Saturday immediately after a game, holy hell was it horrible trying to drive anywhere downtown. We eventually parked a couple blocks away and walked. It was pretty crowded, they were carding and wrist banding everyone that came in. There wasn't anywhere to sit for about 20 minutes until a couple people left the bar. Their selection of beer was OK, they had some local stuff, but the bartender didn't know what they had so I had to look for myself. The second beer I ordered, the bartender poured me the wrong one, but I guess I'll chalk it up to being one of the 2 IPAs right next to each other and it being loud and busy. They had 2 actual size bowling lanes that was kind of cool....They played YMCA and I was one of like 2 people actually dancing to it....BUT my bacon cheeseburger was actually pretty decent. Especially after beer. Bacon was cooked pretty good, surprisingly and the burger had flavor. Cheese wasn't even melted a little, but whatever. Had an incredibly disappointing experience at brothers tonight. Me and a few girl friends were coming in and were surprised to hear there was a cover on a thursday night. The bouncer acted like we were idiots for being surprised. He asked if we even spoke english. We quickly paid the bouncer, never intending not too, just a bit surprised as we hadn't see that before at this location on a Thursday. He continually gave us attitude, swore at us and spoke to us in a manner that no women should be spoken to in. None of us were speaking to him in that manner. I attempted to deescalate the situation and he swore at us again, saying he couldn't believe we needed him to repeat himself and again asking us if we spoke english. He then told us that all our ID's were probably fake "as sh*t". They are not. I am appalled and insulted and I hope to see a change in the way the employees here treat their costumers. No bueno. I was there on Saturday afternoon with a group of about 7 or 8 girls, and the main female bartender didn't want anything to do with us. I can't tell you how many times we tried to get her attention while she texted on her phone or stood there talking to one of the guys who worked there. Once, she was talking to one of her coworkers and he pointed out that we were waiting for something, and she just shrugged and went back to talking to him. I always had great, quick service during my 45 minute lunch break (which is rare to even find!) and the only time I've experienced sticky floors here was on home, football game days. It's probably hard to clean the floors because its so packed I would imagine. Other than that the floors are never sticky in all the times I've been there. I always enjoy this place. Stood at the east side (empty side) of the bar for about 15-20 minutes while the bartenders walked past us/hung out on the other side of the bar. No much going on here. Floors are always dirty and the staff is rather stuck up. I went in here once with 3 girls and the male bartender ignored us. Eventually the female bartender helped us and the drinks were average. I gave her a $5 for a $2-3 drink or shot and she didn't give me my change back until i asked her. I asked very politely thinking she had forgotten and I got a very rude response. Not much of a place for dancing, more of a sit and yell at your friends over the loud music kind of bar.
