    Cracked pepper turkey
    Tiffany G.

This sandwich was so good it briefly reset my standards for what lunch should be. I ordered the cracked pepper turkey on a sourdough roll, and every layer felt intentional. The turkey was tender with just enough bite from the pepper, the cheddar added a clean sharpness, and the shredded lettuce and onions brought the perfect crunch without overwhelming the stack. What really took this sandwich into "I will think about this later" territory was the combination of avocado, garlic aioli, pesto, and Italian herb oil. It wasn't just flavorful, it was balanced. Creamy, herby, bright, and savory all at once, like the deli equivalent of a well‑conducted orchestra. The sourdough roll held everything together without getting soggy, which feels like a small miracle considering the amount of sauce (no complaints). Service was quick, the ingredients tasted fresh, and the whole experience reminded me why Brother's has such a loyal following. This wasn't just a sandwich, it was a standout moment in my day. Absolutely delish.

We stopped by this sandwich shop for a quick bite. I had a sandwich here before but can't remember what kind but it was good. I decided on the Hot Pastrami sandwich without reading the ingredients. There were only 2 benches against the wall and no tables to eat indoors. The place was large enough for several tables and chairs but nothing. Anyway, my sandwich was ready and it had arugula leaves inside which made it bitter. I did not taste the Swiss cheese and I requested no onions. The pastrami was good but the arugula destroyed it. My mistake. Next time, I'll read the ingredients. I had a half and planned to remove the arugula with cilantro at home but the hubs ate it the next day.

This review is long overdue! We regularly drive all the way from Antioch to Oakland just to enjoy some of the best sandwiches we've ever had. The food is consistently amazing, and the customer service is outstanding. We also love supporting small, local businesses, and this café is truly worth it. Make sure to stop by and you won't be disappointed!

2700 Park Blvd Oakland, CA 94606 I was in the area, so I decided to go by and try a sandwich at Brothers Deli. It was around 3pm on a sunny Wednesday. I asked them what was the best sandwich on the menu. The young man said lots people like "Italian Sub" and the "Brother's Choice." I asked how big the sandwiches are, and he wasn't sure. He held up his hands to approximate the size. So I ordered the "Chopped Sando." I wanted a cold sandwich that was easy to eat. Pretty good sandwich for $13.95. "Chopped" gives the sandwich a blended filling on a soft roll. I asked for no peppers. So the chopped filling had a mild flavor. BTW, my sandwich was about 10-1/2" - 11" long. I estimated the size based on the length of a standard sheet of paper.....8-1/2" x 11." You can only order one size. They also sell drinks, chips, and candy. All orders are takeout. There's no tables for eating there. The place is clean, with a modern decor. I found parking on the street behind the restaurant. It's a steep hill, so not too many people park there. (Booker St) I will definitely return and try another sandwich. Located at Park Blvd x Spruce St

I finally got the chance to stop by this awesome deli. I grew up in this neighborhood and was excited to see the growth. I love the open concept, but curious with such open space why there is no dine in seating. The staff was very friendly, and I will say for the amount of people waiting they get the orders out fast. I got the roasted turkey. My sandwich was super good will definitely go back next time I need a sandwich.

10/10 sandwich! I ordered the Hot Boy (hot), which came with pastrami and turkey and was absolutely delicious. The customer service was excellent, the wait time was minimal, and the place was spotless inside. I highly recommend this place!

I was craving a sandwich so I ordered ahead here. Super friendly and clean place. I ordered the chicken garlic panini. It was made fresh. I took a bite in the car and it was so tasty. Very flavorful I was impressed. Definitely worth the price and cooked to perfection!

Stopped by here for lunch. I've been wanting to try brothers deli for a long time. I placed an order on the online app and my sandwich was ready about 20 minutes later. They do get a good amount of customers during lunchtime so be prepared to wait a little. I got the Italian sub and it was delicious. Good amount of meat and veggies to bread ratio. Can't wait to come back and try their other sandwiches. They also sell drinks, chips and candy too. Workers were really nice and working hard to make everyone's sandwiches. FYI, this is a to go place. There are no tables and chairs to stay and eat so just be mindful of that.

This is my go-to cheat meal! I order the Italian sub and add pastrami for extra flavor and meat. The balance of flavors is perfect, and the dressing they use is amazing. The Dutch crunch bread takes it to the next level. Service is always polite and friendly. Love this deli!

I just ordered a Build Your Own, the same sandwich I used to get at Genova (RIP), but wow! This place had baby spinach to add! Amazing sandwich, so fresh, as good as I remember having at Genova. This is my new sandwich go-to. Check it out.

New King in Sandwiches imo. Not cheap, not small. And beyond delicious. The baguette had a great chew. The custom chopped sandwich was incredible. So much food. Thankfully it's not close to me so I can't have it all the time.

    Ally M.

The first time I had my sandwich here I almost cried after the first bite it tasted so good! I keep saying I will try a new sandwich from their unique menu but I can't help but order the Hot Boy every single time! It's the best of both worlds with turkey and pastrami. The spice from the fire salad, on quality Bay Area bread (Dutch crunch) just brings it to the top as the best sandwich in the bay, respectfully! Excellent customer service is consistent. Andy is always friendly and efficient. The only complaint I have is sometimes the iPad to pay doesn't allow for a tip so bring cash! They deserve it for the love they put into their food.

I recently developed an allergy to onion and, unfortunately, onion is the only ingredient not listed to remove on the Saint Francis sandwich (on their website). I decided to call to place a pickup order so I could mention the allergy. The man who picked up the phone refused to take an order insisting that I must place my order online. I explained there wasn't the option to remove the ingredient and was worried since I had an allergy. He argued that I was mistaken, and I could edit the order online or order a "build your own sandwich" (without acknowledging the additional cost for such a thing). I mentioned the inaccessibility of such a system and that I truly wasn't seeing the option to remove ingredients. He spent longer arguing with me over the phone than it would have been to take my order over the phone. Eventually, I relented, and placed an online order stating in the "notes to seller" (the only way to edit an order in this case) no onion on the Saint Francis sandwich. There was onion on my sandwich. Maybe instead of believing they need to be right, they should just listen to the customer and try to accommodate.

I have been eating delicious sandwiches from Modigliani Café since it opened. Always so delicious,…read moreand so friendly. But I have to wax poetic for a minute: today I ate the very best pastrami I have ever had. I grew up on the East Coast (as did the proprietor) and I have easily eaten 500 reuben sandwiches in my life (because they are pretty much the very best). This pastrami is absurd. It is thin. It is tender. It is flavorful. It is meaty but not stringy or fatty. It is moist. It is a love letter. It is a sweet whisper. It is goodness through and through. Made into a reuben, this pastrami is divine. I believe the proprietor makes his own thousand island dressing and it is just right. The bread has been pressed and grilled, and is neither tough nor soggy. You taste and feel the cheese, but it does not overwhelm. In short, I am in heaven. The proprietor of Modigliani Café grew up in a family that worked with meat, and he won an award when he was quite young for curing bacon (you can see the certificate on the wall in the shop). So my suspicion is that this pastrami is his creation. And I bet that bacon was the best ever. Pay Modigliani Café a visit. Everything I've ever ordered was delicious. Bring cash because they don't take cards.

I usually order a #2, #7, and #13. It's very affordable, especially if you're on a strict budget for lunch. $7 sandwiches? I mean it's a pretty good deal. #2 Banh Mi Dac Biet/Special Combo Ham Sandwich - If you're looking for a cold italian sandwich but want to explore new options this is a vietnamese version that also has pate butter taking it to the next level. #7 Banh Mi Xiu Mai/Meat Ball & Egg Sandwich - An elevated version of the #3 with an added egg. This was my absolute favorite as a child and still is now. Nice balance of sweet and salty. The meat is tender and with the added egg yolk that pops when you take a bite takes it the next level. I think this is also slept on since I don't see many people ordering it. #13 Banh Mi Xa Xiu/BBQ Pork Sandwich - This is their secret weapon. My god the sweetness from the bbq pork with the pate butter is incredible. I always look forward to eating the bottom end of the sandwich because that's where most of the flavor and butter are hiding. The pickled veggies help give it the acidity it needs for a well balanced bite. By far my favorite. They also have many other options besides banh mi that make and sell on the day of like Banh Cuon, Che, Egg rolls, etc. Definitely give those a try especially the Mochi Ham sandwich aka Banh Day they got there too. I always have a hard time choosing between the #7 & # 13 so I always end up getting both. Service is straight forward, you line up, order, and wait for them to call you up for your order. Simple. The only thing that made the sandwich edible was the bread itself. It was fresh light and airy as I remember it to be. I hope they will focus and maintain quality in the future. First off, this sandwich is massive, so be sure that you come here on an empty stomach. These beef meatballs are seasoned to perfection and bursting with flavor. The balls are covered in their red sauce with provolone and Grana Padano, which gives it that nutty and salty flavor that pairs extremely well with the meatballs and baguette. All the juices and cheese just get soaked up to perfection. The baguette bread they use is supplied by La Farine, which is just a few meters away from each other. Just putting out there that La Farine is hands down one of the best bakeries in Oakland, so it makes sense that this sandwich would be so dang good. I'll be honest that I'm not a big fan of the chips or those chips in general and could be fine with just the sandwich. If you are going to have any sandwich to eat here first, I would highly recommend you try "The Balls" because I promise you will not be disappointed. I will always say that the dozen or so times I've been here, the staff are always so friendly, and the atmosphere is very down to earth. The price of their sandwiches is in the $20 range, but the quality and portion make it totally worth it.

Want a free sandwich?…read more Complete this puzzle and it's all yours! The pastrami sandwich here is sooooo good I actually ordered two of them. This is the first place in the world that had me eating rye. I hate rye bread, and was worried because there are no substitutions, but the sandwiches here were so good and the bread didn't taste like the traditional prison food hard rye bread. You changed me Krispy Joe's, and had me eating stuff I never would have. Also, drinking stuff I never would have. I bought their chai and lemonade, both were 5 stars, and they offered me their pickle juice electrolyte drink to try. I was skeptical at first, but again they made me a believer. I hate pickle juice and pickle flavored anything in general. Yet, they converted me once again when they offered me a sample of their pickle-aid. It tasted like a mild tasting plain Gatorade. If I were still training for a marathon, I would totally buy this! Back to their amazing sandwiches. They are made with such care, dusting every sandwich that's made to order with their secret spices while toasting the meat and bread. The slaw was fresh and herbaceous. Again, made with care and craftsmanship. I am rooting for this business to expand and take over Ike's Sandwiches. I believe in you Krispy Joe's, you have my vote!

This is a tiny little shop that seems to do a tremendous amount of business. Yesterday, we were in the area at 11:30, before the lunch rush officially begins. We parked practically in front at the curb and walked to the front door. Inside were about 10 customers, some waiting to pay, some watching their sandwiches being made and others waiting to order. We weren't quite exactly where to stand so we wormed our way to what we thought might be the end of the line. Probably not necessary. There were three sandwich makers and they simply called "next" when they were ready for the next guest. The first question we were asked was how many sandwiches followed by what breads. We're both fans of Dutch Crunch so that made it easy. Then we were asked what sandwich was first. With everything? What kind of cheese? Any add-ons? Then the second sandwich, same questions. The process was impressive. Our sandwich maker knew his craft and made us two wonderful sandwiches. She ordered the Fire Roasted Steak with everything. I ordered the Lucca's Ultimate Club without the Hot Pepper Sauce (mistake!). We got back to our van and the hot Steak smelled so good, we split it right then and completely devoured it! The Hot Pepper Sauce was not super spicy and the entire sandwich was huge and delicious. This morning, we split the Lucca's Ultimate. We each managed to put away about 1/2 of our 1/2 and then had to put them away. Not to worry, we finished them at dinner. I think because I had omitted the Hot Pepper Sauce, this sandwich wasn't quite as moist. I would have liked more lettuce, tomato and possibly some avocado. That's a note to myself for next time. Yes, there will be a next time. Service was great. Food was great. I wouldn't want the business to change anything. A small shop with huge demand that makes great food is worth the wait. Some might say that enlarging the business would increase speed and capacity but I say don't mess with a great thing!
