We had them as a sub on a remodeling project. They abandoned the project midway and left a ton of issues behind, meaning a second crew had to be hired to clean up after them (plumbing and electrical roughings in the wrong places, insulation was not installed as stated and so on). They also didn't pass a single inspection on the first try, everything took two or three attempts until the city would sign off. Luckily they were a sub, so it's not me who is now short tens of thousands of dollars. I wouldn't let these guys work on my house if they paid me for the privilege of doing so. The icing on the cake is that they dumped their old broken mini fridge on our patio for someone else to dispose. BEWARE: READ THESE REVIEWS before you hire this company. After I paid them and they left, I realized the job was incomplete and needed them to return to complete the job only for them to never return. Extremely unprofessional company and I wasted a ton of time shuffling around my schedule and my son's schedule several times for them to just keep no-showing. The story: I needed pigeon strips installed on the roof of a 3 story single family home. I provided the measurements of the height of my house and Erick, the owner, showed up alone with an insufficient ladder. Even I knew beforehand that you lose a few feet when you lean a ladder. This is why I communicated in advance that the roof was 36 feet, so there were no unexpected surprises. When Erick arrived, We quickly realized that the ladder he brought was insufficient. Things already started out bad when he dragged his ladder on my newly paved yard and scratched the new concrete. I still let him make an attempt to do the job, regardless of the dangers that were clearly present. When Erick realized he needed help, we had to wait hours for Erick to return with his cousin. Erick's cousin was able to reach a little higher, but still could not see the area he was working on and was blindly reaching up onto the roof to place the pigeon strips. I did the best I could to direct him, but this isn't my area of expertise, which is why I was willing to spend money on someone to perform the job for me. There's also now white glue smeared everywhere up there around the strips that weren't visible at night during dusk (because this is when they returned). We paid $350, which is a lot of money, for a job that wasn't completed properly. So now it seems we basically paid to have the same problem we started with. Out of concern for Erick's safety, I also stepped outside of my role as a customer and helped with holding the ladder and also tried to help come up with different ideas on how best to execute this. Erick has went MIA. I have texted him numerous times on both regular sms and WhatsApp. LAst week they were here and both days left early and left unfinished. His workers installed my deck in the wrong pattern after i showed them exactly how I wanted it and they generally slow down work whenever he leaves the site. Which is often. I am highly disappointed as they started off great but now have left me with an incomplete job and the rains are coming. I needed some junk removal this afternoon and went to the Newark Home Depot parking lot. I found two trucks side by side-- one was labeled "Brothers Handyman Demolition", phone number 510-695-6728. The other was "Alpha Handyman Demolition Construction and More", phone number 510-838-1584. They looked at the pile and we agreed on $800 cash. When they loaded everything up, they demanded $900. If I didn't pay, they threatened to dump everything back on the driveway. I paid, but I wouldn't do business with these guys again. Erick is responsive, courteous, and punctual. He would follow up by phone call or text messages to confirm he is on his way from other city to repair my laundry door. Erick is very nice to make the schedule fit to my busy schedule...he came to my place around 8:40pm At first he quoted $100-$130 for the installation but then my door has a broken part on the bottom so he and his assistant drove to nearby Home Depot around 8:50pm to shop for the replacement part. $60-$75 extra on top of the initial price because my door bottom had a big hole that required the professional to repair. They are diligent and professional and willing to explain to me why it needs to be charged extra and how they will repair it. Erick and his assistant were nice not to charge me for the part. WOW! I am truly amazed at the hustle and work flow of these brothers! I own a bakery and just purchased a new double stacked oven. The oven would not not fit through our rear entrance because of all the special gas plumbing that it has. I needed the door frame removed so that it would fit. I did not want the oven to stay out over night so I called the Brothers & boy did they come through! I asked for a quote on yelp at 6:30pm got a reply by 7:15, they showed up at 7:45. Got the door frame off at 8:45 pushed the oven around the block and thought the door. The oven was in place at 9:15. Door frame and door locked and good to go by 9:35. This was truly amazing to watch and I've never felt more satisfied with anyone's service as I have with theirs. Their prices are very fair, but they definitely went above and beyond. This is the second time I've used Brothers Handyman Of Fremont. In terms of availability Mario and his son were able to come the day after I called them. In terms of timeliness, they were due at 9am. At 8:45 they called me to let me know they were stuck in traffic and we're going to be 8 minutes late, completely unnecessary (for only 8 min) but much appreciated. In terms of their work, they were very polite, efficient and considerate of our property. They loaded all of our construction waste and swept the area clean afterwards. It is a nightmare to work with this guys. They conducted fraud and ripped off $3000. They are real robber and scammer. To win my trust, they lied that they are licensed and their works 100% comply with with city permit and policy. They even called the city onsite to pretend their works was city policy compliance. My project is to remove the swimming pool and refreshen landscape. After 3 time discussion, we set a package deal of $37K. After taking $3000 cash deposit, they started to work. The first day's job is to simply clean the yard and drilled 3 holes at the bottom of swimming pool. But weird things happened at the second day morning, they suddenly knocked my door without appointment and told me that I have only two options, either finish the project without city permit since they found their job might not be able to pass the city inspection, or I had to add much more money to continue this project. I rejected both options and insisted to keep the original contract. They became angry and kept explaining they made a mistake and took for grant that Milpitas has the same policy with Fremont. The owner Mario is very rude with limited English, his son Erik has better English but just follow his father's order. What a horrible company without contract spirit! By the way, they rejected to refund the $3000 deposit and did not even give a receipt. I do not recommend them to anybody. They are just wasting your time and stealing your money. Updates: The owners's reply is a joke. We have never agreed with $3000 for just yard cleaning and drilling 3 holes. They illegally took the deposit money by breaking the contract.. the get used to lie and over promised. They are actually misleading and ripping off the customer. They tried to deny that they had promised to be city policy compliant. The most important reason I used them is the pre-condition that they promised their work is 100% city policy compliant. Beware, usually they rip off by asking $3000 or more as deposit by promising everything including city policy compliance and start to do a $100-$ 500 work. Then they would definitely tell you that the city is not allowed to do so unless adding more money. If you reject adding more money, They just run and reject to refund any deposit.
