Flickering lights, outlets that were blowing and a sizzling electrical panel demanded quick attention and Bayval Electric were one of four companies who we asked for a bid from for the job. Bayval Electric was our first choice very quickly due to their timely response to come out and they were the first to get a detailed bid quote to us, despite being the third to look at the job. They were also a couple thousand dollars less than the highest bidder. Communication and professionalism was outstanding throughout the entire job. They answered every question, were always on time and demonstrate a meticulous work ethic. At the very beginning Bayval Electric knew exactly what was required to get Modesto City permits and coordinated with MID to complete the work in a timely manner that was a week ahead of the original schedule. They went above and beyond to ensure that the job was done right and in addition to the required work, they eliminated a fire hazard in the house by replacing an outdated screw-in fuse panel and pulled new lines back to the new main panel. They also ran additional grounding lines to the natural gas and water service entrances to further protect the house from lightning strikes. Bayval Electric identified and corrected an installation error on a previous electrical EV charging line done by a different electrical company. We will call them first, without question if we ever need any electrical work. Our home is up to code and we feel so safe due to the diligence and expertise of their work. Highest recommend that we could give.

He was also sure to take care of all the details, including removing existing speakers and lights that would no longer fit and properly patching up holes. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

I have a hard time imagining how any moving company could be any better than Route 66. But since moving is such a nuisance, I hope I don't find out anytime soon.

Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. Tony, the foreman, and his team were extremely detail-oriented and did exceptional work. The craftsmanship really shows in the finished bathroom. Everything looks carefully installed and precise, and the tile work in particular is incredibly clean. We're extremely happy with how the bathroom turned out and with the overall experience, especially for our first major home project. We would use them again for future projects and highly recommend them.

We had hired Steve at Snyder Remodeling & Home Repair for a home project for various small repairs…read morethrough out outside of our house. The job originally quoted for half day by both Steve and his worker. After Steve discussed with his worker, he took off and his worker took off several times during the repair because he needed to get the materials for the project then later needed to go back to shop to do a return, so on and so forth. So half day became one day but his worker still was not able to finish it, subsequently he had to come back for another half day to finish the project. We were really disturbed by his worker's performance because the job was just finished adequately. The biggest surprise for us is to discover few weeks later because his worker was hammering too forcefully when he was replacing part of the outside window wood frame due to dry rot damage, he cracked the inside window walls on both sides of the window (see pictures). We reached out to Steve and he stated it's cosmetic but did not offer to come back to repair it, so we even offered to pay him to get it repaired. Finally he sent the same worker who worked on the repair previously, when I asked him to wear shoe covers inside the house, he stated he had none, then he called Steve who told me over the phone again they don't have shoe covers and offered to use tarp on the floor instead which I agreed. However when Steve came, he entered the house without shoe covers and walked all over the front entrance and dinning room floor, I was so amazed and told him that I would put the tarp down instead of him walking all over my floor with his shoes on, he got upset and walked right out. I went out side and tried to reason with him also explained to him if his worker did not crack our inside window walls, we actually would not need this repair, he again said that I would not let him put down the tarp, I said again that he was walking with is shoes on my floor which I was trying to prevent, and told him again if i can put the tarp down myself. He got even more upset then yelled at me "I am done!" and took off with his worker!! Later we reached out to him, he just ignored us. This is really a disturbing experience for us which we utilized several other people from YELP with great results, and we thought that a small home project would not create so much hassles and lingering damage that needs another repair.
