I also dropped off scrap steel and was owed 7.60 and the girl gave me 7.00 either she cannot count or this is a normal practice. I asked how often they have their scales calibrated she said they are brand new. Maybe in 1960 but not today. Avoid them if you don not want to get ripped off. I took pictures of my weights and plan on sending the information to the Illinois Consumer protection Bureau of Lisa Madigans office. I actually had more weight but I gave a two pound leeway. What ever happened to truth in business? Shameful and illegal.
