Wrote a good review for this place only to come back a few visits later and be VERY DISAPPOINTED. ***LONG REVIEW BUT I PROMISE ITS WORTH THE READ.*** I go in for brow waxing, sometimes upper lip. Threading hurts but I get waxed here since we're told nail salons aren't fully licensed to do waxing at all. Which they've messed up my brows multiple times so I stopped going there and eventually found my spot here at this location. Anyways, after waxing most of my brow they always ask if they can thread just a little bit, which I've always said that's fine as long as it's not mostly threaded and instead waxed like I asked. Well, this day (Saturday 9/21/24) which was yesterday, I go in and end up seeing the wax artist I would go to in the first place (last year) but hardly saw again. I was told it's because she only works Thursday, Friday, and Saturday and I was always going throughout the weekday or Sundays; she's the older short light skin lady, could be the manager or not. So of course after waxing she asks to thread a little, and since everyone else has done it without trouble I figured this time wouldn't hurt. But as she got to the eye lid, I felt a pinch a few times in a row. It stung but not like a normal thread should but I thought maybe I'm just sensitive this session. Thinking back on it now, she put A LOT of gel after she finished which I thought was weird but just brushed it off. Come to find out it was her hiding the fact that I was bleeding since she nicked me multiple times but didn't say anything. I even flinched multiple times and she never said sorry or anything at all. The service finished and I checked the mirror to see it was alright looking which it was decent (I saw some hairs below my brow but just wanted to be done with it) and said it's good. But obviously wasn't bleeding because she JUST wiped it again before I sat up to check it. I paid and walked out. Went across the way to that clothing store literally right after and when I looked at my sister she told me I was bleeding. I used the clothings stores full body mirror to see that I was, pretty bad too. So we walk right back over to Brow Arc and I show her and she says "do you always have sensitive skin?" I said "Yes but I've never had this happen before. Is there something you can do?" She offered me more cooling gel and that was it. I didn't want to pry more so we just left. We walked to the food court and sat down and I had my sister take photos while it was still "fresh" (see photos below). It wasn't until I got home that it started to sting even more, so since yesterday I've been using cooling gel when it acts up and it's slowly getting better. In my 14 years of getting my brows waxed and/or threaded from MULTIPLE artists and locations I have NEVER had this happen before because of "sensitive skin" like she suggested. I paid for a service that actually injured me that an artist lied about thinking I wouldn't notice. That also didn't help or offer partial refund, and she was even tipped for it too. I really wanted to love this place but not everything is always best for you. Unfortunately, I will NOT be returning to this place and I hope people take this review into consideration as well. read more

Do not recommend! I decided to try this place out and get my eyebrows threaded. First and last time here. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for about 10 years now and know that there's always a bit of a pull and pain but it hurt pretty badly. When I was done I noticed that they were redder than normal but didn't think twice of it. When I got home I saw that skin had been pulled off and cut at different spots! Over the next few days I had tiny scabs under and above both eyebrows. Never experienced this before. Also want to point out that I've always been lucky to have naturally full eyebrows but not overly thick by any means. I'be always asked for the shape to be kept the same and just cleaned up. The girl who did mine didn't even listen and made them so thin and sharp! I was so upset I hope they grown back the same. Supper disappointed and will not be back. read more

I personally have always had a great experience at Brow Arc. I have visited 2 other locations and Tacoma is my favorite. I trust the ladies that work here because they have consistently given my brows clean and natural looks. I don't have to worry they will thread too much or mess up my shape. My brows have been through some different experiences and they are the best they are now because of Brow Arc! I always get compliments and I really count on my brows being done correctly because I don't really wear makeup and value my brows haha. read more

The Tacoma location for Brow Arc is TERRIBLE. The two women that primarily work evenings are rude and uncaring. They rush through the process so quickly that you are unable to even say a word in protest. My skin ends up bright red and painful for three days after going to this salon. The membership is not worth it and is pushed upon every person that comes in. Yesterday I asked them to do my chin (just the chin) and she started on my lip (charged me for the lip) and when I protested, she said "you have hair". She stopped doing the lip and left it half done, then went onto the hcin. When my eyes started watering because of the chin was being rubbed raw from the thread, she told me that "it stings a little". The process shouldn't be extremely painful (and still red/swollen 24 hours later) if the person doing the threading does a good job! I am disgusted with the work that this shop does and I will not be returning (throwing away that membership, I only used twice!). read more

This lady didn't even ask how I wanted my eyebrows shaped or threaded. She just starts... she says she's done in 2 minutes... and I look and she messed it up BIG TIME. My eyebrows are CROOKED NOW! I went to get an eyebrow tint in the store the lady took one look at me and told me no it wouldn't work because of my skin it wouldn't show up. I was confused this was my 1st time however I saw YouTube videos and wanted to try it. The lady tried to explain but the language barrier couldn't get it through to me! I know she wasn't saying what I thought she was saying!! She said she would do it but I would be wasting my money cause it won't show up on my skin. She then had a younger girl suggest a thread only when I explained how upset I was about the tint because I specifically came to the mall for this exact reason she spoke to woman 1 in another language before she offered to tint my brows. I said No! She just told me it won't show up she said oh you don't have enough brow for it. So she (woman 2) threads my brows and again offers to tint them. Which I declined. read more

NEVER AGAIN. I've been growing out my brows for about 10 years because they're super patchy. I purchased the membership at Brow Arc a couple of months ago and I literally leave that place crying every time because every single employee that does the eyebrow threading for some reason thinks that I want them to thread my eyebrows the way THEY think looks best. EVERY SINGLE GODDAMN TIME. Today was the last straw. I went in there with very, VERY specific instructions as to what I wanted done, which was the most basic cleanup possible. She proceeded to do whatever the F she wanted to do. When she was done and handed me the mirror, I literally was speechless. And to make it all worse, she said she didn't understand what I wanted which is why she did whatever she thought I wanted. WHY WOULD YOU EVEN START WORKING ON MY EYEBROWS IF YOU DIDNT UNDERSTAND WHAT I WANTED. I left that location crying, once again. I will never give them my business again. read more

Used to go here a lot. Generally an unpleasant experience. The staff is unfriendly and the owner is awful. If the owner is the one to do your threading she will continually push services at you, you did not request. "Do you also want x done or y done??" This is all an attempt to get extra money of course. I used to leave huge tips on my initial package purchase but the owner was rude enough to request I space out my tips, because the person who received the tip wasn't her. After a year or two of bad service, this was the final straw. It's not the owner's right to ask me to space out tips to make sure she gets a cut. The services themselves are hit or miss. Sometimes they do great work, other times its awful and I leave with a bunch of hairs left. read more

I have been coming here for years! I have loved my experiences but from here on out I hope to only see Havjeet & Mumtaz. They have honestly treated me like family, and they have made me feel so comfortable. However above all, they are very detailed in the expertise of their skill. They even smile, laugh and joke with me which is so needed after a long day at work. I love them. Recently, I came in and the only lady working happened to be the district manager. She was HORRIBLE: lacked experience and caused me a lot of pain. When she threaded me the thread hardly touched my skin pulling each hair slowly out of my pores one by one and she took FOREVER. I couldn't wait till it was over. After she was done I asked where my "normal" girls were and she told me she was the district manager. Two days later I had to come back as though I had never even been seen just days before. Please train your DISTRICT MANAGER!!!! She should start over at the bottom of the business. These ladies I mentioned above are TOP NOTCH and should be at the very top of this company with their customer service skills and their OUTSTANDING threading abilities. I'm so upset I had to experience my first time getting my eyebrows done at this place.. she literally made a patch in my eyebrow. She took 2.5 seconds to do each person and I knew I should've left when I noticed. it seemed like she didn't even take pride in what she did, she seemed like she was rushing. I have tried every way possible to temporarily remove hair. I've had my eyebrows waxed and plucked. I've waxed them myself. I've had them threaded at multiple places. All that being said, this is, by far, the best place I've ever gone. They are quick, efficient and nearly painless. I have never been disappointed in my eyebrows after leaving. The staff here is extremely personable and explanatory. If you have a question, they will answer it. Their prices are extremely reasonable and any of their memberships are recommended.
