I had researched Microblading for months before finally deciding to go to a studio and find out more about it - and it was honestly THE BEST decision I've made. I naturally have darker brown hair, and unfortunately was given the great gift of blonde brows that did not, I repeat, did not match my hair color at all. I had been coloring my brows with the normal pencils/brow gels then moved to dyeing my own brows with Men's Mustache filler - both seemed to work but honestly were not long lasting and caused me stress and kept me always worried with how my brows looked. So once I decided to further explore microbalding, I scheduled the 15 minute consultation with Stephanie to get some of my questions answered that I had a hard time fully understanding from my readings online - I arrived a few minutes early and Stephanie was promptly ready to see me, we went into the microlalding room and she she was super nice, welcoming and gave me truthful answers to everything I asked, even showed me the tools she uses, and even offered to begin to shape my brows and pick colors during this consultation, however I decided not to do this as I had already built enough trust with her to just have her do all of this during the actual microblading appointment. So I booked my microblading appointment on the spot! I went back 2 weeks after the consultation for my appointment - Stephanie worked really hard to make sure I was comfortable when I arrived. She starts with taking photos of your brows as you are coloring/filling them in, then she removes your makeup and takes more pictures of your natural brows. The next hour or so is spent with her shaping your brows and then figuring out your coloring - she gives her opinions but ultimately lets you make the final decisions (I wanted my brows darker and bolder than she originally suggested but she ultimately went with what I said). The next hour was spent on her actually doing the microblading and I also got shading done for my brows. The process (simplified) is that she numbs your brows with a tool she calls a "cat scratcher" and then starts the micorblading process which is her drawing the individual "hair lines" on/under your brows. After this she did the shading, which was like small little prickles that put the color behind/around your brows. Stephanie gives you lots of instructions (via email and print out) on how to prep and care for your brows - literally no questions were left unanswered. After the initial appointment you go back in 4-6 weeks for a touch up - to see how things healed and where more needs to be done. And I say this is a touch up, but note it is a repeat of the full microblading itself. Overall 100% recommend microblading and Stephanie to anyone - she makes you feel like a friend more than a client and that's important for something this permanent and with what it costs! Oh man, could I write a novel about Steph. Some background on me. I'm a "make up girl" who loves to play with makeup, and was well versed on the process of microblading/permanent makeup. However, I was born with light blonde brows, and had been filling them in every day for owever many years. With a job that requires me to look presentable and "fresh faced" at the drop of a hat, I looked into getting my brows done as a way to always look presentable-- even if there was nothing else on my face. Boy, oh boy did Steph deliver! The website and booking process is so easy to use, and I was blown away by her thorough website and instagram-- so many pictures and so many details! She is very thorough and detail oriented and it shows. When you arrive for your appointment, you feel like the only girl (or guy) in the world. Her studio is adorable, and she is so welcoming and kind. She explains everything in very easy to understand language, and helps you decide exactly what is best for you. She is also wonderful at making you feel relaxed during the tattooing process, and I was never in pain. We laughed and talked the whole time. Price wise, it is definitely an investment, but is so worth it. You are supporting a small business owner (and an amazing human!) and the price is honestly a little low for all the services you get-- the initial brow application and the touch up are all included. I also know that if I didn't like anything, Steph would fix it in a heartbeat and would go above and beyond to make me happy with the final result. I have not regretted getting my brows done for one second! if anything, I wish that I could get more frequent touch ups so I could hang out with her more often. :) read more
