This place is truly amazing. The level of care, professionalism, and expertise is outstanding, and I feel very fortunate to have found them. I've brought several of my furbabies here and always feel confident they're in the best hands. Living in Miami-Dade, I've found that many specialist vet clinics are extremely expensive here, but this hospital is refreshingly fair with pricing. More importantly, I genuinely feel their priority is my pets' well-being, not just maximizing costs. My most recent visit was with Dr. Rabacca Kikulian, and she was exceptional. From the moment she interacted with my cat, her gentle, calm approach immediately put both of us at ease. She took the time to comfort him, holding him on her lap and making sure he was relaxed before beginning the exam... something I've never experienced with another vet. Update: the first surgery didn't work. Yes, I realize not all surgeries are successful, but a couple comments from the vet herself led me to believe she was taking responsibility for it (ie. "I will do such and such differently in the repeat surgery.") Therefore I was pretty displeased with having to pay $755 for a repeat surgery only two weeks after the first. It was a third of the cost of the original surgery, , BUT it's a large sum anyway. I begged to keep it below $500 -- if they must charge at all, I said! The whole reason I chose Broward Vet, a good hour from my home, was because their consultation availability AND the fair estimate. Turns out that for the cost I could have chosen a place much closer. So I was on here a couple of weeks ago, and I gave a well-deserved negative review for the specialist that I saw there because she changed my dogs cancer treatment in midstream for what I consider an invalid reason and then she turned very nasty and hateful towards me because she for no reason at all suddenly from one day to the next called me and insisted that I put my dog to sleep. What I'm referring to specifically is that my dog had kidney challenges along with suffering from cancer because one of the tumors was in one of her kidneys, so my dogs, creatinine numbers had been going up when this doctor first took her as a patient, but the numbers kept going up and because of this this specialist all of a sudden from one day to the next called me at home on a Thursday morning in a very hateful manner, insisting that I put my dog to sleep when she was still playful and active and still eating and drinking from a bowl and she was not in any condition to be put to sleep. Also, I am somebody who really does not believe in euthanasia except as a very last resort when an animal is suffering so badly and there is absolutely no treatment or medication that can help them. My dog was still playful and active and barking and eating and drinking, etc. and this doctor just calls me out of the blue on a Thursday morning at 9 o'clock in a hateful manner and tells me that I must put my dog to sleep within a day or two because her creatinine numbers were going up. Anyway, that was the reason for the negative review and my dog has since passed away. This all happened over a month ago. After I put my review, I got a very nice message actually too very nice messages from the assistant manager of Broward veterinary specialist by the name of Amanda. I unfortunately did not receive her messages until about a week later because I was so busy caring for my very sick little doggy by that time at the beginning of April, my doggy was having to be hand, fed and cared for a lot and basically I had to get up every few hours to take care of her and I was not checking my telephone messages as much as I should have so I missed her calls and I did not get her messages until after my precious doggy passed away on April 8. When I got the messages that the assistant manager, Amanda had left me from Broward veterinary specialist, wanting to speak to me about this situation, I try to respond to her by telephone and by email and I did not get any response and I am afraid that she is not receiving my messages because I can't understand why if she tried two times to reach me and I'm answering her back. why wouldn't she call me back. It does not make sense and I'm afraid she is not receiving the messages that I sent her by email and by phone so that is why I'm putting this review on here, hoping that she will see this and she will see that I tried to respond to her and hopefully she will get back to me to discuss this horrible situation. It is heartbreaking enough to have a precious little doggy who you've had since she was a little puppy and who was almost 14 years old and who was so sick with cancer it's heartbreaking enough to go through that situation and then have your precious doggy passed away but to have a specialist who you went to to get help treat you in such a hateful manner and to take your doggy treatment away in midstream for no reason I just don't understand it at all I really don't. When she got diagnosed with a very bad tumor at my vet, they got her in within the week and operated on her ASAP, it was the cleanest cut when operating on her and treated her so wells they had a around the clock vet with her when she stayed over after her surgery who made sure my Luna tuna was okay! I love this place and how much they love my babygirl! I'm truly so appreciative of them all. I'm so blessed that god brought this vet into my life to help my little girl! Dr. Rebecca Kilcullen prescribed Palladia for my 13 1/2-year-old French Bulldog, who was perfectly healthy and mobile (perfect blood work and on HRT) He had his squamous cell carcinoma removed, but perfect margins cannot be achieved so he was only on the Palladia for preventative purposes. After eight weeks on the drug, he suddenly lost his ability to walk. Unsure why, we initially thought it was due to muscle loss from the Palladia, but Dr. Kilcullen insisted it was neurological and failed to mention that neurological issues are a known side effect of the drug. Even after we informed her of his symptoms, she refused to lower the dosage and proceeded to sell me over $800 of the same dosage of the drug and refer me to a neurologist who I'm sure she's in business with. After a simple Google search, I found that a well-known side effect of Palladia is neurological issues. IThankfully, after discontinuing Palladia, his symptoms drastically improved within just four days, and he's now almost back to normal. When I later confronted her about why she didn't mention this side effect, she claimed it was because she had "never seen it" in her office--despite it being a well-known risk of Palladia. It's clear Dr. Kilcullen prioritized profit over our dog's well-being. Please, if you love your pet DO NOT BRING THEM HERE. Whether this situation is due to lack of knowledge of a drug that she is actively prescribing bad intention (which I truly believe it was), neither is somebody you want handling things we love as much as our pets. read more

I'm not much of a reviewer, (but I am a diligent information gathering fiend) so it's only fair I finally contribute. Sadly people can be so critical and unfair and if your pet is diagnosed with a chronic ailment (which is why your doing the research in the first place) pricing disputes, blame and emotions can cloud your judgement in choosing the right vet. While it is beneficial to know what to expect relative to pricing, it does us all a disservice to rate and review over those issues alone. 3 or 4 stars over cost? If your seeking an animal specialist hospital it is a reasonable assumption that at the onset there may be "sticker shock ", but honestly you should be somewhat prepared for a major expense when you seek a "specialist ". Those of you that have lost pets, my heart breaks for you. So very sorry for your tragic loss! It will help to be reminded that these are highly trained Doctors who have dedicated many years of their lives in education, residency and more education to treat patients that cannot communicate their symptoms or explain their issues. We as caregivers must notice subtle clues, sometimes hidden clues, and sometimes even the most diligent of us miss those clues until it's too late. It's a guess people, albeit an educated one, nonetheless a guess/analysis in many ways, things missed, complications, unknown factors... Veterinary healthcare has come a long way and with amazing success but misdiagnosis and death happen. It's a fact of life. That said, our eldest of four pups (11 yr old long hair male chihuahua) was recently diagnosed with TCC. A deadly form of bladder cancer that has no cure. Fairly rare but some say on the rise and caused by environmental factors/poison- I may have inadvertently poisoned the love of my life... Our local vet sent us to BMS. We arrived at our first appointment with Dr. Tanya Gustafson determined not to undergo the chemotherapy. We started chemo immediately. Here's why: Dr Gustafson. She is an amazing Doctor. Compassionate but clear and firm in the decision to fight for life. She has the patience of a Saint! All the while fielding our barrage of questions and concerns (every single visit), listening and understanding our personal daily challenges and helping us manage the disease, the medications...the madness. She treats our pup -but also treats our souls. She knows this is not an easy battle, nor will it be in the end a successful one. She keeps the train moving in a calm and reassuring way. We are grateful every moment for her care and guidance. We always leave BMS full of hope and with a heavy sigh of relief that we're doing all we can. In closing my advice: If your pet is ill remember to just do the best you can. If you choose Dr. Gustafson, rest assured she will be standing right behind you and your pet, holding you both steady all the way. My dog injured his front leg and I spoke with this practice late yesterday afternoon and they advised me to send in the info first thing this morning so the doctor could take a look today and they would work me in in the next couple of days as I live close by. This morning I called to let them know the film and radiology report was on the way and a different person answered the phone. Very abrupt and said there is no way they can see the dog for two weeks. I explained the dog could not walk and she said "is he on pain meds and in a crate" to which I replied yes and she said that "it would be two weeks" She said there was a chance for a cancelation but she was not hopeful and wanted me to accept the appointment in two weeks. I thanked here and explained I would drive to Access Animal Hospital in Palm Beach where, as it turns out once they heard the situation I will be seeing a doctor at 1PM today. Not a reflection on the doctor and I assume the lady I spoke with today was maybe a temp who had been given bad instructions for an emergency but she should not be answering the phones. Update! An hour after I posted this the lady called me back and had a change of heart. She had taken it upon herself to review my dogs information, that had been sent by the vet, and walked it to the doctor to review and could get me in tomorrow. I wish i can give 0 stars!! Dr.Elizabeth Rawson is a horrible heartless person, she does not care about the dogs. I took my Yorkie healthy Monday to spade and they perforated her instestine and lied about it. Sent her home and 24 hours later she died. I only know because I rushed her to Lead animal hospital and paid for her to have an emergency surgery because she was septic and the surgeon found out her intestine was perforated. The records from BVS don't reflect any complication or say she was sent home with vomiting & and they didn't sent her on antibiotics.. I guess they hoped I was going to keep her home for the night until they opened at 7 am like they told me when I called the night nurse because she was not eating.. and kept vomiting and that she would past in my house and they say it must had been the anesthesia etc.. but I would never let my dog be in pain.. so now they are caught! I am hoping no one else looses their dogs to this place.. I failed my dog because I didn't do research before!! I am so glad my general vet recommended Broward Veterinary Specialists to me. This experience could not have been more pleasant. My dog needed a TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation) surgery and the experience (from consult to post-op ) was flawless. So wonderful that I couldn't wait to write this review, if I'm being honest. Doctor Moore was so kind, reassuring, and very knowledgeable. We felt no pressure during the consult and received all of the information we needed to make the best decision for our dog. He answered all questions we had with ease, really solidifying that this was the right doctor to cake of our baby girl. Immediately following surgery, Doctor Moore called to give us an update. The nurse assigned to our case was absolutely wonderful as well. She also answered all of our questions thoroughly. The front desk staff was also wonderful and so helpful when we had some questions post-op. The office itself was so clean and well-mannered. I have never seen a nicer veterinary office. After I left the review last week I took my pet to be seen by another vet. This vet was able to remove the staples and get him on the needed antibiotics for an infection your office also missed. we brought our dog into Broward Vets for a scan, x-rays and blood tests. We were told the dog would have to be sedated and it would take 2 to 2.5 hours. One hr later we were called and told the testing was done. We picked up the dog and took him home. We were told all tests were positive. We took him home, and he collapsed that night and had to be put down. HE WENT IN FINE, BUT CAME OUT INJURED! We spoke to the vet and was told "he must have injured himself". Logic dictates that they must have mishandled our dog by not sedating him, and injured him leading to death. Please do your due diligence in choosing to work with these people. I really have to say that 3 weeks after having to put my dog to sleep, I am still bitter and angry at this office. My 16 year old apricot poodle, Ginger, has a mast cell tumor that started rapidly growing. Afraid it was going to split her skin open, we went to Dr. Moore who was very nice however, her tumor was inoperable. A week later we made an appointment for Dr. Seaman. We knew that the tumor wouldn't go away but we wanted to discus options so that it didn't continue growing and she could enjoy the rest of her life without feeling its effects. Dr. Seaman seemed really nice. She gave us the options for chemo, and felt that Ginger had a good chance so we moved forward with chemo. They told us that if Ginger got sick, the side effects would show up in 3 days or less. Let me tell you something. They were so wrong. The day after Christmas Ginger got really really sick. This was 7 days after her chemo treatment. Lethargic, couldn't stand, wasn't eating. Worried we went straight to the ER vet. The ER vet told us that Ginger had 0 white blood cell count and couldn't fight infections. She spend 3 almost 4 days at the emergency vet alone being pumped full of antibiotics. Several attempts to call Dr. Seaman were never returned. The office called us back and told us that it couldn't have been the chemo! The ER vet confirmed that it was. We called back and left another message and Dr. Seaman still never called. We vowed then and there never to take her back. Lack of empathy and worry for my pet was clear. Finally on day 3 she started eating and being more alert. We were relieved! When we took her home on New Years Day, she was weak. She wouldn't eat, could barely walk, had to be held up when she went to the bathroom. And the mast cell tumor which the chemo was supposed to shrink was now an open sore. We were heartbroken. Knowing we had no choice, we took her to our regular vet to have her put to sleep. Even after they knew we put Ginger down, this vet never called or anything. This was my baby. A member of my family for the past 16 years and she didn't even care that because of her and her lack of knowledge that everyone is different when it comes to chemo, my precious pup spend the last week of her life in an ER vet so weak and almost dead... And this lady didn't even care. They don't give you all the information in this office. They give your pet the chemo, take your money, but don't tell you any of the risks or care about your animal at all. And they certainly don't call if there is an emergency! I hope that Dr. Seaman reads this and knows that I will NEVER forgive her for her lack of caring for my pet. And I will share her story forever and tell anyone I meet NEVER to go to this TERRIBLE OFFICE! read more

Dr. Moore is incredible and saved my dog from surgery! When we first got our dog, he was noted to have grade 1 patellar subluxation bilaterally, which we learned is when the knee cap slips out of place at baseline. The subluxation got worse to the point where we visited Dr. Moore and we planned for surgery. Because of covid, the surgery was postponed a few months (which Dr. Moore had said would be okay) and he gave us some tips and tricks to help strengthen our dog's legs. We returned day of the surgery for a pre-surgery physical and due to all of the tips and tricks Dr. Moore suggested, our doggy strengthened his quads enough and no longer needs surgery!! For a surgeon, the act of surgery is everything, but Dr. Moore is an honest veterinarian who really and truly does want the best for you and your loved family member. He was honest with us every step of the way, providing great advice and also answering all of our questions. His office staff is wonderful as well. Dr. Moore is the best!!! Dr. Moore successfully removed a large tumor from our dog, Lucy (a very overweight but very beautiful beagle mix). We are so very grateful for his talent. Even if you don't live in Broward, it is worth a 30-minute drive from Miami-Dade to utilize Dr. Moore's talent and knowledge. From the minute I called, the process was seamless: first, Mary Kay was kind of enough to squeeze us in for a prompt appointment. second, on the day of the appointment, my appointment was at 1 pm. I was greeted by a very friendly and cheerful tech, who swiftly escorted Lucy and me to a very clean and lovely examination/consultation room. By 1:05 pm, Dr. Moore was already on the floor of the consultation/examination room, cuddling Lucy and explaining everything to me, taking his time to answer questions and explaining it all in a way we non-vets can comprehend. He has a very soothing, calm, reassuring presence and is extremely knowledgeable with tremendous credentials and a well-earned reputation as a highly skilled veterinary specialist/surgeon. The price of the surgery was totally reasonable/fair, as well. This is not a vet-specialists group that will charge excessively, as is the case with most other vet-specialists groups in S. Dr. Moore and the amazing team saved our Merry girl. I could go on for hours about this office and the procedure, thanks to this team our girl can now enjoy her retirement after the life she has had. All I can say is, if you're struggling to find a place you can trust, I promise this is it. I think we've gone to over 7 places (not including our own general vet visit) for Merry's condition and we just didn't feel the click, this place had it from the 5 min we were in. Merry had a TECA just this past month and is thriving, words don't do it justice how thankful we are. The team was in contact with us throughout her whole stay, keeping us updated and being so personal. They were extremely thorough with explaining everything, specially the things that might happen as a side effect (which one did, but she's going back to normal like nothing), thanks to this knowledge we were able to know and not freak out. In January, 2019, Coco, our 9 month old peek-a-poo was diagnosed with Legg-Perthes Disease which is also known as avascular necrosis of the femoral head. Our Veterinarian, referred us to Broward Veterinary Specialists to see Dr. Kenneth Moore, BVMS, who is a Surgeon and Board Certified Small Animal Specialist. From beginning to end, the experience with Dr. Moore and his professional staff could not have been better!! The initial consultation with Dr Moore --- He was caring - did not rush, he took time to explain things in layman's terms, and it left me with a clear understanding of what the problem was and what my options were. When I decided to move forward with the surgery, I was provided with a clear and detailed high/low estimate of what the cost would be. After we decided to move forward with the surgery, we were given detailed instructions, in writing, for what to do the night before the surgery, what to expect on the morning of surgery, and what would happen after surgery. Dr. Moore called us personally following Coco's surgery to advise us on how her surgery went. Coco had to stay overnight. But what a relief when we got a call from the overnight nurse around 8pm to let us know that Coco had been hand fed and was now sleeping. On discharge, a nurse called us to set up a time to pick Coco up. In addition to seeing Dr. Moore again, we were provided written discharge instructions that were very clear on Coco's exercise/ activity needs, what to look for post-op ( incision site ) and protective measures (the collar) Her medication, what it was for and schedule was reviewed and provided in writing. My dogs have been patients of both Drs. Moore and Seaman for over 13 years both at their previous hospital and now at their own. I have had one dog with lymphoma who was initially diagnosed with 3 weeks to live and with Dr. Seaman involved we were able to get a month short of a full YEAR! Dr. Seaman was always compassionate and always let me make the call as I needed to. Dr. Seaman was honest In the prognosis and I always felt we had a plan. Dr.Moore. Where do I start? He performed a tplo surgery for a torn meniscus for my current dog, saved my other dog 10 years ago with an emergency (1 AM) call in for a bloat surgery. He is as usual. Meticulous, caring professional. There are no guarantees in medical care, but believe me I could never have had a better experience nor could I trust anyone more than I trust them 100%. No wonder to me that they are the Veterinarians other veterinarians go to when they have a problem with their own pets. You should also know this hospital is NOT a factory. What this means is your pet will be given the appropriate time and attention needed and it is not a teaching facility. It also helps that they hire the best nurses and vet techs. Knowing how much the staff works with your pets you'd be extremely thankful to know that. Top notch staff. This isn't an easy business. Bringing a 16 year old pet with inoperable cancerous tumors isn't as likely to have as good of an outcome as my 5 year old boy in otherwise good health. Cancer sucks and it kills. I've never met a person that loves his job as much as Dr. Moore. I've had quite a number of dogs over the years so have dealt with many vets. After my 1 year old, 5 lb Chihuahua suffered a very severe laceration to her rear foot, and was told by the weekend ER pet vet I went to, that amputation of the toe was the only solution, I sat frozen with indecision, fear and guilt, and decided to have the foot bandaged so I could confer with Dr. Moore who had performed a complicated surgery on my 15 year old rescue Beagle. We discussed the options, costs, possible outcomes and the amputation remedy if conservative care did not work so there was full objective disclosure. Dr. Moore correctly diagnosed that the wound should be left to heal, with an intervening small surgery to reduce a tiny bone protruding from the skin caused by the original damage from the laceration's damage to the tissue, and after a few months the chihuahua is zipping around like nothing happened. His technical skill is matched by his empathy and compassion. I know why my local vet's original recommendation and statement that "I'd let him operate on me!" rang so true. THE BEST CARE I'VE SEEN. I was directed to Dr Moore at Broward Veterinary Specialists by my regular Vet, Dr Gordon, who had Dr Moore care for his own dog when she ruptured a ligament. The level of care surpasses any I've seen. The professional and personal care got my dog Polo and me through a serious surgery and long recuperation. When Polo ruptured the ligament on his other leg a year later I knew I could rely on Broward Veterinary Specialists to care for Polo the way he deserved and the way I'd expect. Dr Moore, Amanda, and his remarkably dedicated team felt like family. Polo races to get in the door to see them. And we know dogs are smarter than people :) read more

Dr Moore and his staff are amazing and caring people. Our dog had knee surgery as a puppy and we couldn't have been treated better. Dr Moore called personally along with his staff to check on him. Just recently we had emergency surgery after our dog swallowed a mango pit. Again Dr Moore followed up personally and they took great care of him. I brought my small dog in because she was having difficulty breathing due to an exacerbation of her tracheal collapse which had been previously diagnosed Dr Pollock took an X-ray series and did blood work She confirmed it was an exacerbation and her trachea was inflamed She prescribed hydrocodone tablets because the specialists don't stock the drugs they prescribe I tried every Avenue to fill this prescription but no pharmacy including human pharmacies carried that drug But some did carry the liquid form However I needed a new prescription for that Frantic because my dog continued to have difficulty breathing and it was 3 days after seeing Dr Pollock I called the office on Saturday morning for a new prescription I was told they Couldn't Help Me and that I should call my general vet to see if they could write me a new prescription WOW I paid the Specialists $987.00 That is approximately 5X more than a general vet Not Worth It read more

If I could give no stars I would. My dog was diagnosed by Dr. Rebecca Seaman-Kilcullen with mast cell tumors. We agreed to her recommended treatment, however the palladia medication was very expensive. I called the office and asked whether it had to be purchased from them or can I get it somewhere else. I was told, "if you have cancer would you buy your medication online?" to which I replied If I was dying and couldn't afford it "yes" I would. I found Chewy.com online and explained to them that I would like to order the medication from them because it's cheaper and after going back and forth for a while they admitted that they work with Chewy and explained what the process is. I later asked the doctor if he really needed the medication 3 times a week because it was very expensive. She said we could try 2 times a week. My dogs health quickly took a turn for the worst and his tumors grew to the point where it burst. I ended up taking him to Shenandoah Veterinary Hospital where they quickly operated him. I continued to take him to Dr. Seaman-Kilcullen since she's I was told that she is the cancer doctor and the only one that can approve the medication. I asked whether my dog can get his blood work done somewhere else since it's so expensive there and I was told yes. I had my dogs bloodwork done 1 week before his visit with her and she said that she cannot prescribe medication off this bloodwork because it's too old. Apparently she will only take bloodwork (CBC) that's at the latest 48 hours old. I explained that no one told me that when I asked about it and asked if she would use this blood work this time since I already paid for it and no one explained this to me and she was very upset and condescending and sarcastic and then had an assistant get on the phone with me. I thought she was going to approve the medication, but now I was just informed that she declined my order for his medicine with Chewy. This to me is completely heartless. I will never bring my dog there again. read more

The four stars are a gift to this place. I am writing this review after speaking with owner of the establishment. I had request a CT Scan from the office, so they proceed to call their mobile service. I believe is less than reputable but could find nothing online. Now, after the scan my dog was fine at first but that evening he began to have issues breathing and swallowing. It appears that received irritation to the trachea and possible laryngitis - as per the urgent care physician. However, the owner of the establishment thinks otherwise. I had my reservation about this place after meeting the oncologist, I felt she lacked bedside manner. I called to speak to her the day after the incident and received a call 6 hours later - never mind that i mentioned that my dog was experiencing pain. When she called at the behest of the owner, after a week of us going bananas trying to figure what was wrong, she pretended to be concern for my pet and even went as far to speculate that the issue with trachea was from the medication. Never mind that we was on the medication for a week before the CT Scan. What is sad is that this type of behavior is common in the Vet community. I can not count the number of incompetent vets I have encounter all interested in one thing - making money of your pet. I paid $3000 for the CT Scan another $1700 for the urgent to determine or rather confirm the obvious and help my dog start eating again. All this started on 3/23/2022 and today 3/30/2022 I am still dealing with the ramification. All I asked was for the 1700 dollars from the urgent care be refunded which I incurred due the imaging service. I was met with a simple no which tells you they are taking a cut from the $3000. My point is that if you want big money, at least perform as you are being paid big money. If you guys want to attending this office just be ready for the horrible service and lack of care. Is bad enough that they take advantage of the situation you find yourself because your dog has cancer. They over charge, under deliver and to add insult to injury the could hurt your pet as they take your money. read more
