Looking for something different rather than the "chain restaurants" in Henderson, please check this place out. Not really too far from downtown so you can walk there. DO NOT PASS IT BY! An eclectic little place that has a very distinct and cool vibe. The service was phenomenal. We actually had a couple waitresses taking care of us with our orders, getting our coffee and everything else that they could do to make our breakfast great. I had the French toast with hash browns and my wife had eggs, sausage and biscuit/gravy. The biscuit/gravy was delicious. The rest was good. read more

Passing through town at lunch time. Chose this little spot from the list. So glad we did! They were busy! Service was nice. Customers were nice to us clearly out-of-towners. He had a huge club sandwich with fries and fried spicy cheese balls as his sides. They had Diet Mt Dew, so he was especially pleased. I took the suggestion of a local and ordered a fried chicken breast with green beans and Mac n cheese as my sides. The chicken is as good as everyone claimed. It's got a kick and it's welcome by this reviewer! The green beans made me miss my grandmother, in a very fond way. We were too full to try dessert ... so we got it to go, y'all! Looking forward to trying 'strawberry cake' later on. Don't be in a hurry. Don't be all OCD about your world. Go in, relax, have a conversation with some nice people and eat some great food that is being cooked just for you. read more

I'm new to town and just learning the businesses in the area. Words cannot explain how impressed I am with the whole package from this place. All the people that work there area family, the Mother runs the places and her "children" are the cooks and wait staff. The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the people were awesome. I will be in there every weekend for breakfast. Could not ask for a better experience! read more

This place is simple yet very tasty. My daughter had the grilled cheese and cheese sticks which didn't stay long on her plate. My wife had the special which was noodles and beef. I had the salad bar. It was small but everything on it was tasty. We shared a combo appetizer that had many different items all of which were delicious. read more

Stopped in for a small quick bite at 10:00am. Yes, I got a burger at 10:00am. HaHa! The cheeseburger DID NOT disappoint. Add bacon. Small town diner vibe. Friendly staff. And even as a non-dessert eater, their pie case looked phenomenal! read more

One star, because I can't rate any lower. Left this place an hour ago. It took over an hour, 20 minutes today waiting, I could see into the kitchen while they cooked, first of all the burgers ARE frozen, the fries ARE also frozen, and dumped in from a large bag into the grease. Sliced Tomatoes, lettuce, onions were over-ripe and limp. I was hoping and expecting everything to be FRESH, and it wasn't. No hair nets, 8 employees in the kitchen at once with hair blowing everywhere with fans blowing...one lady feeding a baby in a high chair in the kitchen (unprofessional) ... everyone in the the kitchen were dressed in street clothes, nothing professional about this place. The Elderly man working the dining room was bleeding on his left arm in two different places, blood was running all down his arm, he sat at a table to take an order, placed his arm on the table, and got blood all over the table were he sat. The two men at that table brought the blood left on the table to the elderly mans attention. The elder man walks over next to the coke machine and grabs a wet rag and wipes the blood off the table, then 5 minutes later uses the exact same rag to wash off another tables Health department should check this place out. The dining room was not clean to what I would think it should of been. I won't return and won't recommend this place to anyone. read more

My Saturday breakfast in Henderson KY was the "Roadfood Chicken" served at Brown Bag Burgers the owner generously offered to fry for us at 8 am. "I'm afraid it will be 20 minutes", she warned. The chicken that came out  just wowed me. My all time favorite was once one of the following; Blue & White in Tunica, Gus's Famous in Memphis, Dooky Chases in New Orleans, Bon-Ton Chicken in Henderson KY and finally Willie Maes Scotch House also in NOLA. BBB on Saturday blew them all away. It was simply the best fried chicken I'd ever eaten. Far better than Bon Tons. The owner chatted with me and said the Bon Ton was once the best she'd ever had but they started cutting corners on seasonings. She restored the original recipe and it showed. Imho the seasonings could have been tinkered with but what set her chicken above was the depth of flavor. Dark or white the chicken was juicy. But as I gnawed on it I was amazed at the full flavor even deep from the surface around the bones. It marinates in the seasonings for 24 hours. A humble place, this chicken is worth a detour of at least a hundred miles. Run of the mill French fries, along with an excellent cole slaw rounded out your plate but that's not why you've come. It's the chicken, man, the chicken. She has fresh has browns on her menu so perhaps you can sub or upcharge to those. read more
