The vacuums are very old and gross, it was a hot day and the vacuum I was using had been duct tape together, which then ended up on my hand! Sticky residue, and the suction was not strong enough to get things out of, the track of my seat... I also felt like I had to keep looking over my shoulder which I didn't like. I would recommend coming here for the wash, but not for the vacuum! 3/5 because the car wash it self was good as long as the payment system works.

Being a drive-through type, it is not as thorough as one would hope. But for $8, it is a bargain! We will gladly have a carwash when we are in the area. The hours are slightly different than both the store and the gas station. Do double check before going. The cost can be pre-paid when getting gas or pay via the mini dedicated payment machine before entering the car wash. At least one person stays at the entry point to remind folks to put the car into neutral. All in all, it was easy, inexpensive, and did a perfectly good job on a dirty car. Thanks, Costco!

The day I dropped off the car, Phil let me know that a piece of their equipment broke and that he'd need to resolve that before they could work. I didn't need the car all day so it wasn't an issue, and I live a walkable distance and could get it anytime. Later in the afternoon, he called to say they had been backed up and asked if I would rather pick it up and bring it back for them in the morning or if I could pick it up that evening after closing time. I gave him the choice and he preferred to stay late. In retrospect, that probably wasn't my best choice. I believe it must be only because they had lost daylight that there were a few things undone (scratches buffed out, tires done a little sloppy, lots of wax marks and white residue on the car, cup holders not quite clean). Also, my husband was the one to pick it up and not only was it too dark to do a proper walkthrough but he was unaware of what Phil and I had discussed. I really do think these little things were circumstantial and I will definitely try them again in the future. They were professional, friendly, honest, fair and great communicators despite the chaos of a crazy day.

This service is a complete joke…read more I got my car detailed by Chad, last year and he did a piss poor job. It also took forever for them to correct the mistake because their policy was that I can only take the car back to the person who messed up the service to have it fixed. Chad was booked out for weeks so I had to wait for them to fit me in the schedule. I'm just now leaving a review because it was my first time getting my car detailed at the time and I didn't know any better. I didn't know what it meant (they basically shampoo your car) or how much it should cost at the time. Looking back, I feel like I got completely scammed. I now have more experience with other car detailers like WashLB (mobile detailer in Seattle) and two other car washes in LA (I moved) to say this Mr. Detail location in the Fairmont garage is a complete joke. I only paid for an interior detail because I go to the Costco Car wash for $8 to get the outside cleaned. I only booked for interior and it STILL cost me something stupid like $235 for a Tesla Model 3. I think there was a pet hair add on. They ask you to add tip before you pick up the car so I tipped $45, like a dummy, only to drive away with a still dirty car. They work out of a dimly lit garage with barely any light so they probably cannot see all the dirt. When I drove my car into the sun, all the dust and stuff they missed were immediately apparent. It was a waste of time and money because each time I dropped the car off I had to Uber or walk home! I was out my car for 3 hours each time while I waited. Later I hired WashLB who came to my apartment's garage and would wipe down my car with a bucket of water and rags I guess and vacuums. They also did not have strong sun light to show all the dirt but they did a good job for only $77 (before tip) for both interior and exterior. I didn't have to go anywhere, they came to my garage. Moving to LA, the detail places here are also $70-$150 for both interior and exterior. All these cheaper places did a much better job and didn't make me wait 2+ weeks to bring the car back to get their mistake fixed. This business is totally absurd, a waste of time and money.
