This service is a complete joke. I got my car detailed by Chad, last year and he did a piss poor job. It also took forever for them to correct the mistake because their policy was that I can only take the car back to the person who messed up the service to have it fixed. Chad was booked out for weeks so I had to wait for them to fit me in the schedule. I'm just now leaving a review because it was my first time getting my car detailed at the time and I didn't know any better. I didn't know what it meant (they basically shampoo your car) or how much it should cost at the time. Looking back, I feel like I got completely scammed. I now have more experience with other car detailers like WashLB (mobile detailer in Seattle) and two other car washes in LA (I moved) to say this Mr. Detail location in the Fairmont garage is a complete joke. I only paid for an interior detail because I go to the Costco Car wash for $8 to get the outside cleaned. I only booked for interior and it STILL cost me something stupid like $235 for a Tesla Model 3. I think there was a pet hair add on. They ask you to add tip before you pick up the car so I tipped $45, like a dummy, only to drive away with a still dirty car. They work out of a dimly lit garage with barely any light so they probably cannot see all the dirt. When I drove my car into the sun, all the dust and stuff they missed were immediately apparent. It was a waste of time and money because each time I dropped the car off I had to Uber or walk home! I was out my car for 3 hours each time while I waited. Later I hired WashLB who came to my apartment's garage and would wipe down my car with a bucket of water and rags I guess and vacuums. They also did not have strong sun light to show all the dirt but they did a good job for only $77 (before tip) for both interior and exterior. I didn't have to go anywhere, they came to my garage. Moving to LA, the detail places here are also $70-$150 for both interior and exterior. All these cheaper places did a much better job and didn't make me wait 2+ weeks to bring the car back to get their mistake fixed. This business is totally absurd, a waste of time and money. Absolutely blown away how new my car looks now after a year of multi-day road-trips, ski trips, hiking trips, and 100lb golden retriever dog hair chaos! Personal interaction: Drop off and pickup were super easy and quick. I really enjoyed that I could easily talk to Chad via text/iMessage. He was incredibly nice, responsive, and accommodating. Location: Tons of information is given on the website about how to find the location. It's at the street level of the parking garage BEFORE you actually enter the paid area. The shop has 3 dedicated parking spots on the side so you have plenty of space to park your vehicle. Story time: When I mentioned I couldn't keep my car there overnight, rather than rush the detailing he decided to scope down my package to meet the time constraints. Later on in the day when I found out it would be possible to leave it overnight after all, he was flexible in upgrading the package again. Incredible attention to detail and fantastic service. BEWARE!!! Not at all as pictured. Maybe pics from previous owner. It's a small spot in a garage. I paid $400 for deep inside detailing. I could have done better on my own. Seat rails not done, even the dashboard was not properly cleaned! Odor not removed. Additional $75 for pet hair. They missed hard to reach spots. I don't think they have the tools to work on the inside of cars. Especially not the nooks and crannies. Chad asked me to bring the car back to be better worked on. Still the seat rails had crumbs. And hard to reach spots were not done. I didn't see a big difference. It's a RIP-OFF. DON'T COME HERE! BAD BUSINESS PRACTICE! read more

I have been coming to Mr. Detail for years and always have a good experience. I typically do a heavy interior/exterior detail and a light detail each year and my car always come home looking fantastic. The price feels a little high to me, but I have not shopped around and they might be in line with the competition. And as they say, "you get what you pay for" and Mr. Detail is worth every dime because they put in a lot of effort to keep your car looking great. read more

TLDR: If you're in the area you absolutely should take your car here. They are fast, detailed, and their customer services is top notch. So why not 5 stars?: This place is a nightmare to find. There is no visible street signs directing you to Mr. Detail's shop. I HIGHLY recommend the owner publish and send out a photo of the garage entrance for the shop, and not just written directions. It would also be useful to get a sandwich board on the street for added comfort. YOU NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE THIS PLACE IS IF YOU PLAN ON GETTING HERE DURING RUSH HOUR. They did a wonderful job on my 2000 Toyota 4runner, which came in absolutely covered in mud. The interior was a mess too. I've never seen the car this clean and I was honestly shocked at how good it looked when I picked it up. I will definitely be back here with this vehicle and others. I parked under a tree and when I came out I noticed there was sap on the hood of my car so I made an appointment for a mini detail plus sap removal. My first appointment was cancelled about an hour before I was supposed to drop my car off. It didn't seem like a big deal, I just rescheduled for the following week. The car drop off was quick and easy and the car was finished sooner than expected. When I went to pick it up the guy said he wasn't able to remove the sap because it had been there too long and was etched into the paint. I ended up paying $250 for a mini detail (outside washed, inside vacuumed and wiped down) and the sap is still there. It's extra frustrating because maybe if the first appointment wasn't cancelled it could have been removed. read more

We recently moved from California and discovered that there are very limited options in terms of non-self serve hand car washes. On the lower end, there is the automated car wash, and on the higher end, there are auto detail shops. Given that we had just shipped our car to Seattle from LA and during the trip, it had collected quite a bit of exterior dirt, we decided to give our Honda CR-V the attention it deserved and go with an auto detail shop. After reviewing reviews on yelp, we arrived at Mr. Detail and let me tell you, we couldn't have made a better decision. First of all, Mr. Detail shops are conveniently located throughout the greater Seattle area. We went to the Downtown location at the G level of the US Bank/CityCentre Garage. We were met by Brandon, who provided excellent care. He is incredibly knowledgeable about auto detailing and car care. We were debating between their "light" and "medium" service. He didn't pressure us at all and helped us to weigh the pros and cons of each service. The cleaning took three hours. At the end, our SUV looked brand new, inside and out. In fact, Brandon said that our interior was so well maintained that he couldn't justify charging us for the interior cleaning. He also buffed out a scratch on the side of our car. Although he wasn't able to remove the scratch entirely due to the depth into the metal, it looked much better and he didn't charge us for that either. Bottom line is that this level of auto detailing is probably not necessary that often, if you do need it, Mr. Detail is the way to go! read more

Aaron is seriously a miracle worker. I brought my car to Mr. Detail after a bunch of calcium slime splashed on my car from parking in my office garage. My windshield, hood, and roof was covered in huge white drips that wouldn't come off. I dropped my car off first thing in the morning and Aaron assessed the damage. He advised calcium deposits are tough to remove, but would do everything he could to get it cleaned up. Fast forward 8 hours and I returned to a sparkling clean exterior. It was amazing. My car hasn't sparkled like this in years. The location is kind of a pain, since it's all the way down on level G of an extremely tight parking garage, but in the end, it was worth the trouble. This was my first time getting my old and now new car tinted by Mr. Detail Auto Salon and as you can see from the photo they have done a great job. They installed 10% Ceramic Pro Tint and they are reasonably priced. My car is 2008 Audi Q7 and people thought it was a brand new car after the detail. Chris the General Manager at the Ballard location explained what they will do and how long it will take to complete. I HIGHLY recommend them for tinting and auto detail. Good but not detailed enough, glove compartment was overlooked. Vacuuming was also incomplete as I found crumbs etc easily visible (see photos) We had some issues with finding the premises. When we booked we were not told there were multiple locations. We arrived at the address listed on Yelp and found the business closed. After calling the phone number we were able to ascertain that we were at the main address (closed on weekends). Also you should note that it's very hard to reach them on the phone and texting was our mode of communication. Car wasn't washed...isn't this standard in a detailing? Total price $235. We are unsatisfied and will not use the service again. UPDATE: Was phoned to reschedule a detailing after mike saw this review. We were told to come to the main centre (Columbia building). When we arrived it was closed. We tried calling but preceded to their other location at the Westin. The concierge was unable to reach them. After calling a few more times we left VERY disappointed as we had driven 40mins from mukilteo. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE this is appalling service I can't understand the positive reviews? Recently used Mr. Detail to clean my 1997 RAV4 to prep for a dealer trade-in. The interior of my 12 year old car actually looked better than the brand new car I drove off the lot! I was completely shocked that my car could look that good. These guys were total professionals - sent a reminder email the day before, arrived a little late but called to let me know (and they travelled all the way out to my home in Sammamish using a GPS no less), finished my vehicle in the estimated amount of time, and followed up that evening with another 'thank you' email. Sadly, this kind of customer service is rare to find these days, and for that reason alone I will highly recommend Mike and Tom to anyone I know looking for a good detail. I'll also add that I purchased the Starter Package, plus a $25 add on for pet hair removal. My car was an absolute petri dish of disgusting dog hair/food crumbs/ you name it. Really reliable car service if you're downtown. Luckily I work in the City Center building so it's convenient for me, and they are quick to respond to appointment requests. Prices may be a bit higher than some other places, but you get the high quality and service in return. They often have Yelp or Groupon deals as well so take advantage of those when they are out. I like the interior detailing package since I can usually just get car washes at Brown Bear. read more

Service: is decent, though I had water coming out of my mirrors upon driving away. They don't always pick up when you call. Same day appointments are almost impossible. Location: is at the bottom of a deep downtown Seattle high rise parking lot, so not easy to get to. If you have to wait, there are cafes and amenities nearby. This business is unreliable. I scheduled an appointment one month in advance. One week before my appointment, I was surprised to receive an email saying that my appointment had been rescheduled for a week later than my scheduled date. I understand that there can be scheduling conflicts, but there was absolutely no communication from the manager regarding the rescheduling (i.e. when would be the best time to reschedule the appointment). I wanted the best detail in town and what I got was... the best detail in town! Sorry, this isn't going to be a horror story review, I am nothing but satisfied. Tom is friendly, professional and the pricing is clear. I picked up my Jeep and it looked better than when I bought it. They even left aesthetic carpet brush lines like a freshly mowed lawn and the car smelled fantastic. Let me tell you, my car was disgusting... I live on a mountain under some sticky, pollen-producing trees, and Tom and crew unearthed a beautiful car from it like an archeologist cleans up eons-old dinosaur bones. I'll get some pictures up when the weather is nice, but the shine might blind you. All-in-all, fabulous local business which I am going to use to clean up all my cars, and I'd consider taking my car here a must if I was selling. 6 out of 5 stars from me. read more

I had "kissed" a concrete column in a parking garage at about 1 mph. It put a small crease in the driver's door. An estimate from a body shop was about $2,000. Mr. Detail made it good as new for $350. They also did a thorough inside and out cleaning, and cleaned the engine compartment. In short, it looks like new! I'm a BIG fan! read more

Last week I paid for the Heavy Interior cleaning and the Light Exterior cleaning. After the initial service, I noticed a number of major oversights, and I was not satisfied with the quality of cleaning overall. I provided feedback to the crew via a Yelp review, and the team promptly reached out to me to offer to take care of the oversights. Mike and Tom, the owners of the shop (Ballard location) attended to my car personally and actually did a complete re-cleaning of the entire car, inside and out, free of charge. They also provided some extra touches, such as tightening a loose mudflap and attempting to fix a worn down license plate cover. It happened to take two visits, but in the end I am very happy with the end result, my car looks great as I had originally hoped. I had pretty high expectations when I bought this Groupon for $170 for up to $380 worth of cleaning. Originally I'd bought a less expensive one with another car detailing service, but decided I should get a better one because I really wanted my car to look above and beyond beautiful. I have a black on black Chrysler 300. Unfortunately when I bought it the seats had water stains on them. I was never happy with this but figured at some point with the right amount of steam cleaning, they would come clean. I was wrong. They look pretty much exactly the same and I was told that no amount of cleaning will ever get the stains out. I'm not sure if that's accurate or if they just couldn't do it. I had high hopes but knew this probably would be the result. There was also a spill of dirt on the back seat which I was certain would come out with proper steaming. Also, it did not. I was more disappointed with this because it's just dirt. Dirt should be able to be steamed out. It wasn't even there that long. I noticed that the inside windows have streaks on them from whatever cleaner they used. It's like a film all over the glass. The most disappointing was the rims of my car. They weren't cleaned at all. Now when I picked up my car, they took me down to their work space in the garage. It was dark so I could barely see what had been done to the car. I was already in a rush because they took longer to complete my car than I expected. I was told that there was only one guy on duty and he never received any help until 20 mins before I picked up my car. I dropped my car off with the valet at 7:30 am and they didn't finish my car until nearly 4 pm. These guys were very nice and I'm sure they did the best they could but I felt like they really rushed my car and didn't put their all into getting it up to the standards of other people's reviews, which was one of the reasons I went with them in the first place. People were raving about how their car went from filthy to brand new. Being that my car wasn't filthy to begin with, I fully expected it to look awesome. My car looks nice. It's shiny on the outside and the inside was definitely vacuumed. I really just don't feel like this was anything spectacular and certainly not worth $170. Not even sure if they did the UV treatment or not. (how would I know?) Oh well. Next time I'll go with something less expensive. Why spend so much money when it will probably look the same as a cheap one? ***UPDATE**** The owner personally called me after reading my review. He offered to detail my car again, himself, to fix this. I brought my car back in this week to give them the opportunity to wow me with their detailing,. This time around my car looks way better. The wheels are silver again and shiny. They look awesome. The inside was steam cleaned properly and they got that stain out of the backseat. They look so much better than the first time around. Very happy with my detailing job now after it's been done personally by the owner. I understand that the guy who did it the first time was short-handed and probably rushed. It happens. I was at the Westin location and came here because of the Groupon deal. I went with the basic package. I'm sad to report that I would not go back to this outfit, not even with another Groupon deal. They did an awful job cleaning my car, which is a small roadster and isn't that old (2006). I had to point out some of the areas they missed and they came by to spray and wipe these areas (which could scratch the paint - I found this unprofessional). On top of the poor performance quality, they were slow. When I made the appointment and when I spoke with them again in the morning, they promised my car to be done by noon or 1, but I called back at 3 (note, I had to call them, they did not call me as promised) and they still hadn't finished the car. Bought a detail on Group-On last August and was finally able to schedule the Deluxe service this week. First off they charged a fee to come to the car instead me of bringing it to them. Then they charged a Fuel Surcharge to come to Kirkland - which is 7 miles from Dtwn Seattle. But there isn't a surcharge to travel to Greenlake. Then they charged a fee for an SUV - which is just lame because they don't state they charge a fee for a Lincoln Town-car, or a Mercedes S Sedan - which is actually larger than my Land Rover. Now you might say there is a surcharge because the vehicle is higher - but since they don't really address the roof when waxing - its a moot point. Next - I purchased an "Auto Detail" - where my expectation was something far superior than taking it to Brown Bear, Rose Hill Car Wash, or White Swan, etc. The cleaning was a decent job - but to be honest, the only difference was they put a coat of wax on the vehicle. When completed - I had to ask them to address the Door Jam Areas around the tailgate. There were crumbs and such in the crevices of the console area - which they said was "extra" to clean -but they'd "help me out". They did not really clean the rims, or the brake dust on the the front rims, that was another add on service. I paid $50.00 for the Group-On promotion, which was supposed to be worth a $100.00 plus detail. If paying $100.00 to have someone was and wax your car is in your budget - go for it. -my expectation for a Detail is just that - the car is sparking inside and out. So my $50.00 group on, cost me an additional $35.00 with the Fuel and Travel surcharge. I feel like I wasted my money. If you use these guys, make sure you understand specifically what they are going to, and what is not included in their pricing - from my best guess, if I had spent about $250, I would have got what I expected. read more

I've been to a few detail places over the last 15 years and here's what I like about Mr Detail: 1) Convenient location - for me it's just a few blocks from work to the Westin, and they cover the cost of "parking" it for that day. Drop it off on the way into work, pick it up after. 2) Lots of different options - just exterior, interior and exterior, full clay-bar service. I've used each of the different packages at different times. They've always gotten the car super clean, no kid grime or nature detritus visible at all. 3) Reasonable prices - it's not as cheap as a car wash, but that's the point - they actually have attention to detail (see what I did there?) when they're going over the car - whether it's crevices between seats, seams on the outside, the engine compartment or trunk, etc. 4) Honesty - they've actually talked me out of more expensive packages when they said my car didn't need it. Not a lot of places will do that. I've never used the mobile services (where they come to your house) but I'm sure that's useful too. read more
