Unfortunately, my experience with a surgical consultation completely changed my confidence in the practice. My cat has had a fluid-filled tail cyst for quite some time. I scheduled a consultation to discuss surgical removal, as that had always been the plan. During the appointment, the veterinarian performed a fine needle aspiration of the cyst. I was surprised this was done since the cyst had already been identified as fluid-filled, but I trusted his judgment. I also noticed the area was not cleaned before or after the aspiration, although I assumed there may have been a reason for that. A few days later, my cat's tail became much more swollen and painful. He was hissing when touched, and I took him to an emergency veterinarian because I was concerned. Whether or not those events were related, I can't say with certainty, but the timing prompted me to contact the practice to discuss my concerns and better understand what had been done. The response I received was disappointing. The veterinarian briefly returned my call, was very short with me, and ended the conversation by saying someone else would call. When the practice manager called, I felt my concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. During the conversation, I was told that they would have amputated my cat's tail and that I was "lucky" someone else had seen him. When I said I planned to seek a second opinion, I requested my records be sent over. I was told, "When you get that second opinion, they can just do your vet care too," which made it clear they no longer wished to continue treating my pet. I also wasn't comfortable with the surgeon's handling of my cat during the consultation. It felt overly forceful for a nervous cat, and it added to my discomfort during the visit. I understand that complications can happen in veterinary medicine, and I wasn't looking to assign blame. I simply wanted my concerns taken seriously, to have an open conversation about what happened, and to feel that my cat's wellbeing was the priority. Instead, I left feeling dismissed and unwelcome. Based on my experience, I would be comfortable using this practice for routine veterinary care, as the support staff has always been kind. However, I would personally seek a different practice for surgical consultations or more complex medical care

She took her time with my pup and really gave him a thorough evaluation. She was so gentle with his shots, he didn't even notice. She also answered my questions and listened to any concerns. The whole process was nice and easy. The price for everything was affordable and contactless payments are acceptable. So I took one him there and I told them in advance I knew it was not ringworm as I've seen that before. I provided a sample to be tested to determine if it was a fungus or not. They examined the cat and took the sample to the tune of $134 and called two days later to tell me that it was not ringworm. I already knew that. When I challenged them that I already knew that and specifically had told them it wasn't ringworm, the receptionist was completely useless. Total waste of money. Then I reached out on a cat Facebook page and someone asked if my cat fights with other cats, which he does sometimes. She said that it's probably a scab from a scratch. The more I looked at it.....she was right. That's exactly what it was. It is ridiculous that this vet was not able to ascertain that.

Dr. Brown took the time to talk and I just felt like I was dealing with a trusted advisor and not a business. Finding a vet you trust with your animal seems to really be difficult, especially for me. This seemed excessive, expensive and unnecessary. My co-worker told me that he made the switch to Middletown Veterinary with his vet reactive dog, so we thought we'd try. Our last visit, our dog only cried once. My husband was so proud, he talked about it for days. Our other dog and cat are easy at the vet but are provided with great care as well. THIS FACILITY DID NOT HAVE THE PROPER SUPPLIES TO CARE FOR MY PUPPY AND CHARGED ME A $126 EXAM FEE. I adopted a puppy with a broken leg. The puppy had a cast on her leg that was put on at a local emergency hospital. I went to Middletown Veterinary Hospital about 2 1/2 weeks after the puppy's cast was put on. When I made the same day appointment, I explained that I had a puppy in a cast that needed follow-up care, specifically for the broken limb and I forwarded the x-rays from the emergency vet, as requested. In the exam room, I was given a price estimate for vaccines by the Vet Tech. I respectfully declined the vaccines at that time, stating that I understood the importance, but I came specifically to follow up about the broken limb. I was told by the vet tech that it is the LAW for a dog to have a rabies vaccine and that the Vet will discuss this further. The Vet stated that they could not do the follow up because they did not have "casting materials" in stock and could not x-ray the puppy with the cast on. So, the cast would have to be removed for the x-ray and if the limb was still broken, they could not recast it. I told them that since they couldn't do the follow-up, I didn't need to be there because the puppy needed a follow up for the broken limb and that was the purpose for our visit. The Vet apologized for the "miscommunication" and stated that they did not know what this appointment was for. I explained that I specifically stated the purpose for the visit and even sent the x-rays. The Vet told me that she was in the middle of the exam and I would have to pay for the time slot anyway. I told her to continue the exam and that I respected her time. She replied that I did not really appear to respect her time at all. I explained again that I specifically stated what the purpose of this visit was when I made the appointment. I expressed that I was concerned about the puppy and the length of time she has been in the cast with no follow up care. I explained that I recently took ownership of the puppy and had no way to get her to a follow-up appointment sooner. The Vet said "Sorry, for the miscommunication" and then as she was leaving the exam room the Vet said, "GOOD LUCK". I paid $126 for the vet to examine the puppy and take her temperature.
