Not really any bad seats, great acoustics, staff organized & helpful. Parking on site is in $12- $ 25 range. Ive seen Allman Bros.Family Band,Samantha Fish & Tab Benoit, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, & most recently, Mike Campbell& Dirty Knobs there. Always a great time! read more

Absolutely awesome little place. I visited here for the 1st time last night to see Buddy Guy and the entire venue was so nice. The ladies working the concession area....were really nice! I didn't get names, but the lady that served me food wore a Vivtor Olidipo Pacers game jersey. Buddy Guy was INCREDIBLE and definitely did not disappoint, his opener, Dylan Triplett was on fire!!! The parking was very organized, and the venue was easy to find. As always I have to review the bathrooms...SUPER clean!! I was surprised at how big this small place was. I was very pleased at the venue, for my first visit....and the food was delicious and the drinks were very nice. read more

If you've read my prior reviews, you might know that I RARELY review anything other than restaurants. I always claim I'll do better, but something really needs to stand out (good or bad) for me to venture past the food. The Brown County Music Center deserves a review, and thus here you have it! I mentioned BCMC (called it Nashville Music Center sorry) in my review of Hard Truth. This is what prompted me to follow thru with a review. I want to give it two thumbs up! BCMC is a smallish music center in Nashville, Indiana. It holds about 2,000 people and has a main level plus small balcony. The photo in my review is from row 3 in the balcony and as you can see there isn't a bad seat in the house. Parking is simple - the walk from the worst parking spot is probably 100 yards from the front door. VIP parking has better pavement and is much closer. Once inside, there is a nice lobby for selling merch, two indoor concession stands with snacks, drinks and alcohol plus there is an outside fenced off yard for those who want fresh air or to smoke with its own window for concessions. Bathrooms are huge - or at least the men's room is - and rarely is there a line. I'd bet money the person who designed the place made bathroom accessibility a focus. BCMC gets nationally known acts in a small town in southern Indiana. You won't see Taylor Swift here, but you'll recognize almost everyone on the schedule. The 'room where it happens' is well designed, comfortable, has great sound quality and again does not have a bad seat in the house. I love looking thru the shows because I know there will be something I'm interested and the price is always very reasonable. Finally, and maybe most importantly, I don't know if the ushers and staff are volunteers or paid, but they're all super friendly and seem to love having guests visit their facility. Every time I visit, I'm overwhelmed with how friendly they are. I truly would rather see a show at this venue than just about any other location in the state. Splurged on a pair of tickets to see Scott Bradlee's Postmodern Jukebox show last weekend and was really excited to visit the Brown County Music Center for the first time, which is fairly astounding since I was a student over in Bloomington and have been back to the area many times since the 1990s. Be that as it may, this venue is warm and inviting, with high ceilings and the lobby reminds me of some of the best lodges I've visited over the years. Being in a festive mood, we did hit the concession stand for some adult beverages, and a pretzel and the staff was patient as we worked out the details of the process. The theater itself is just the right size for a concert. Our seats were really great and had a nice view of this high energy show. Given this positive experience, I will be checking out the schedules for interesting shows in the future. read more

We attended a fabulous Wednesday night concert for Joss Stone with opening act of Nik West. Amazing show with phenomenal performances. Sound system was fantastic and lighting was terrific. Seats are comfortable and views to the stage are all supreme. Restroom facilities are all well maintained and plentiful. Lines move fast! Huge can of Michelob Ultra 25 oz is $12.75. Concession lines move fast and efficiently. Plenty of parking -- $10 whether it's for the paved or the gravel -- and staff will direct you throughout the property during your visit. Purse sizes do have a limit -- check the website prior to your visit or be prepared to leave the satchels at home or in your vehicle. Security checkpoints are efficient and speedy. read more

Visited this smaller venue for the first time just before Christmas last year. To start, I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of access. We were able to park in the venue's large lot for a $10 fee. At the entrance we were also told there are shuttles which run back-and-forth from two local hotels in Nashville. This venue does follow the small/clear bag policy, so be aware. We purchased our tickets at the box office just before the show and were able to save some money on the Ticketmaster fees. When you enter the lobby area, you'll notice it looks like a large country lodge. Since it was close to Christmas, they had a pretty decorated tree in the center of the space. I saw at least one concession/drink area and the women's restroom had ample stalls. Look up, and you'll notice there are signed plaques which represent each artist that's played here. We entered the auditorium and, wow! Due to its small size, there's truly not a bad seat in the place. We did have lower level seats, which made it feel even more intimate. The acoustics were great, too! When we exited, there were people directing traffic out of the parking area so it didn't take long at all to get back on the highway and head home. This is a fun spot for a concert! The event was for the holidays so it was almost sold out, so if you want to park in the lot I suggest you get there a bit early. They provide shuttles though to a parking lot across the street, which is super helpful. Also they have a shuttle from the Nashville Inn if you are a guest there. The venue is clean and open with a capacity for 2000 people yet it doesn't feel crowded. We had heard you could get a good view of the stage from any seat, and that seemed accurate! Our balcony aisle seats were excellent and the sound was really good! The volunteers and staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and they did a great job of managing the large crowd. We will for sure go back and expect this to be an excellent location for many future concerts. read more

We have gone to the Brown County Music Center for 3-4 programs/shows. Although parking is a problem, unless you get there really early, and the fact that they now charge $10.00 to park, in gravel, we have not had a problem with the facility. Actually, we find the staff to be kind and willing to smile while checking for security concerns. (I have been to a couple of Indpls locations that made me feel as though I was being searched before going to jail.) Another nice thing about this facility is that you don't need to be afraid of being assaulted. Sure, it's out of the city and in Brown County but the facility is clean, seats are comfortable, and the temperature is good. As far as food, they sell it. They also serve adult beverages but we go early and try one of the Nashville restaurants. For us, if the right person is performing, we know we will have a good time. read more

This is a beautiful venue located not far from what some call the "Little Smokies " aka Brown County State Park in Nashville, IN. It's surrounded by woods and is set back off the road. The inside has wooden beams throughout and wooden plaques are engraved with all the artists names with autographs that have played there. Neat idea! This venue can hold 2,000 people. It's a nice place to see a concert. Not a bad seat in the house. They offer concessions walking tacos, nachos, and also had two concert themed drinks for that night. One was called "Sailing" a nod to Christopher Cross who was performing that night. They offer unlimited popcorn for $8! Bring the box back and you get a brand new one! Christopher Cross came right on at 8 and was punctual! We couldn't believe it! He sang for an hour and a half. It was a great concert! He even showed us they sell Christopher Cross socks in the souvenir shop that are new and that they added pink ones lol! I definitely did not choose pink - they sold out , but loved my favorite color green ones! He held a concert here last year and I'm glad he came back so we could see him! Next weeks concert is Patti LaBelle! Johnny Depp, Kevin Costner, The Beach Boys, Marshall Tucker Band, are just a few of the artists that have played here. I highly recommend this venue! read more

What a really fun venue. Had the intimate setting of the Murat theater(not with the historic feel) without all the seat nazis. We were able to move around freely and dance the night away without being told to take a seat. Genuinely friendly and helpful staff from the parking lot to the aisle attendants. I felt like a valued customer from start to finish. I would definitely attend a show again here in the future. read more

They cancelled the concert we were seeing due to a power outage and did not notify anyone. They "posted it to Facebook." Glad they did that for all the people who do not have Facebook. AND to make matters worse they rescheduled for a Monday. So disappointing. Very poor handling of business. If you can post on Facebook you can send out an email. Facebook should NEVER be a primary means of communication for a business. Period. read more

The place is alright. Looks like a college amphitheater on the inside and a big antique mall from the outside. The acoustics are ok. Some have said they paid for parking - I don't remember doing that. But my father went to a show there recently and had to pay $20 to pay for handicapped parking. No bueno. Nevertheless, it's an easy-to-find, big venue with plenty of parking, which is what you want for a concert. No cameras besides phones allowed inside. read more

Brown County Music Center is a great venue to watch a concert or show. I had always heard that there isn't a bad seat, and I believe that to be true. Our first trip here was enjoyable and Scotty McCreery put on a great concert! Parking was a little tough, as we had to park across State Road 46 at The Seasons Lodge; however, they offered a free shuttle to and from the center. The ease of getting scanned in and to our seats was nice. We had a great view, and the acoustics were perfect. Intimate venue ... check! Great sound system ... check! CLEAN BATHROOMS ... check! I was here for the Jason Isbell show and can't think of even the smallest bit of constructive criticism for my experience. We got there too late to park close to the venue (not their fault - we drove down from Indy and got stuck in traffic), so the police directing traffic redirected us to a different parking lot up a hill. It wasn't a bad walk, but we happily took the shuttle bus to the lot after the show because it was really cold that night. My advice would be to get there early enough to find parking close to the venue and then you'll be all set. The employees were all super nice and seemed happy to be there, which you don't often see with concerts. read more

We recently made the trip down to the Brown County Music Center from Indianapolis (easy and pleasant drive) to see one of the greats, Graham Nash, who has sang and played with both the Hollies and Crosby, Stills, and Young. At just 80-years young he played and performed an unbelievable concert and his light tenor voice rang out crystal clear. The venue too was truly stellar. Totally accessible, easy parking and literally not a bad seat in the house. Ok yelp friends, I'll consider 'things to consider': FOOD: $9 stale popcorn + $5 water x 2 = $19 (they handed the unsold out at the exit doors after the concert, what?) SERVICE: 100 kind elderly employees making sure you know all the rules (sometimes different depending on which one) way overstaffed/just standing around--pave the parking instead. AMBIANCE: Nice facility, nice size for a concert with good music coming thru. Too bad 'everything' else was a distraction... OK, NOW MY REVIEW/TREATMENT OF THE HANDICAPPED! I just read many of the one star reviews of Brown County Music Center (many concerning those handicapped) and it led me to share my experience of 2 nights ago. It's a book... Whoever the owners, architects/planners, and general managers are or were, they didn't think this one thru or DO NOT WANT HANDICAPPED PEOPLE HERE. We arrive enough before the concert to find the decent size handicapped parking full. really, all these? (Inside later, I see 2 wheel chairs, some canes, and me) Why didn't they scan the ticket stubs to see who really had handicapped seats and not Aunt Millie's placard! Ok, so my husband said he would drop me off at the door with my mobility scooter. As we approached we realized it was blocked off with huge metal gates. So, we pulled as close as we could and he started to unload when someone came running over saying "You can't do that". I just stared at her! and we did anyway. -feeling very upset and offended by now. (They expected me to park on the back 40 and drive my scooter in gravel and poring down rain!! (paid10$ for such nice treatment.) I found a ramp and went to the front door where I waited for hubster w/tickets. NOW ABOUT SEATING, where are the handicapped seats? -they're located BEHIND the middle section where the worse seats are for those who aren't standing! The seats in the 3rd section back might have been good, but I was told 'oh no there's no handicapped seating up there'. So hubster also suffers with me as he sat on the aisle with people parading in out for their beers and standing in front of us. US LEAVING: We were told once again that he couldn't pick me up at the door, Why? -because it was reserved for the shuttles not me!! So where do I go? She answered, 'you have to go out to the handicapped parking lot and wait there so he'll see you. It's 30 degrees out! Thank You Jesus, it' not raining now. So I went to the closest door to the handicapped parking and there was a lady telling me I couldn't go out that door. What? So I went back to the front door and out when half way to the lot, 2 men waving flashlights at me yelling I couldn't do that! Well I did anyway and found our car with hubster looking for me, said he couldn't find me. He loaded my scooter and we said bad words all the way to our hotel! I'm going home to White River for my concerts where they treat HANDICAPPED people with respect and decency! read more

I recently made a trip down to the Music Center from Indianapolis to see Ben Folds perform. Ben Folds is a well-known musician and pianist who has great personal songs and a unique stage presence. Upon arrival to the venue, you will be directed to a parking spot by staff. As you walk-in, staff will be checking to make sure you don't carry any large bags or purses so quick tip, be sure to only carry a small purse. They will then have you walk through a metal detector into the venue. They have about 4 different concession stands in the main lobby. The prices for food and drinks is extremely high. The venue has assigned seats and I was seated on the far right of the stage on lower level. I had a pretty good view of the stage and it was a great show. read more

What isn't revealed is a $10 charge to park even for Handicapped persons. Not much consideration for disabled persons. I wear AFO braces and can walk short distances however, I was inside the building when I was told I had to get out of line and go outside to the Will-Call to pick up my tickets when it would have been easier to access the inside Will-Call window. The security was a bit overwhelming as they only allowed very very small purses for women regardless that some people have to have a larger purse to carry their Diabetic supplies & meds. All of this doesn't help in the enjoyment of the performance. We will probably never return for the reasons I described above. read more

Decent venue, fairly new and clean, good acoustics- the parking situation for big events is pretty wonky, they have you parking over by the four seasons, but you have to park here, not here, no wait...- it works with the shuttles but could be smoother. I think my biggest issue with this place is trying to communicate with the people running the venue- if you have a problem with your ticket, this place does not even communicate with you or with the ticket company on your behalf, you are on your own. They'll take your money but if you have issues they are not paid to help you. read more

Also do not buy tickets thur Ticketmaster they put it up to Brown county and they will say NO REFUND no matter what !! First visit there and I was impressed. Parking was fine, but a little small for the venue, but did they ever have enough assistance. No problem with getting inside this beautiful venue security was very nice, warned us of what to leave in the car before we got there. Metal detectors might be over the top, but its their house. Wonderful nice people, plenty of concession areas. Excellent sound as well. Definitely one of the best venues and especially in southern indiana. read more

I came here to see Christopher across. This is a venue that has it together. Parking is organized, vivid checkpoint organized. Security perfection and ticket taking smooth. The venue itself is clean and beautiful. I really do not think there is a bad seat in the house. The lighting and sound is great. The seats are comfortable. The restrooms are plenty and clean. Concession is great as well. Leaving was smooth as well. Various exit doors. People directing exit and we got right out. Other venues need to come here and take note. read more

Nice place for intimate concerts. Ordering tickets was easy, policies are clear on their website. Parking was easy (if a bit pricey, considering how many ppl park free in the neighboring business lots). Staff is SO friendly & welcoming!! Everyone was gracious & ready to answer questions, and they all seem to be experts at "people moving" because there were hardly any logjams. The only "bad" seats would be orchestra-pit center because you're almost looking up at the stage. Sound was great. Definitely recommend! read more

Is this really Nashville, Indiana, or New York City? Only clutch purses, no outside drink (even water) and very limit drinks at consession, no pass outs and serving alcohol at a Christian concert? Next time, I'll drive hours to see MWS instead of 30 minutes to a place that is in rural Indiana with big city rules. Also, there are no caps allowed on the $5 small water bottle. I think this venue thinks too much of itself. Paying$10 to park on gravel is insulting. It's not much bigger than IU auditorium who doesn't have ridiculous security features. Walking through a metal detector?really? A tiny purse that can't carry my epi pens and asthma supplies, let alone a wallet so I can buy expensive concessions? Here's a newsflash: you're not a stadium for the NFL. I saw some people sitting on hard plastic folding chairs because the venue sold the handicapped seats to non-handicapped people. Just what Brown County needed! This 2,000-seat indoor venue doesn't have a bad seat! The stage is huge; the design is fabulous, and the sound... whoa! Opened recently in August, big names such as Art Garfunkel, Vince Gill, Clint Black, and George Thorogood are scheduled. Indoor concessions are plentiful and an outdoor beer garden is planned. Went to see Oak Ridge Boys at Brown county music center. Rebuild this venue after fire. Beautiful place n been there one other time. Upon arrival was stop n said "That will be $10.00 to park." WHAT??? WHY? Didn't pay to park last time we were here. Guess what, they didn't make the parking lot BIG enough to accommodate the crowd. NEVER have we paid to park. The facility was very nice. I don't believe there is a bad seat in the place. Very comfortable seating, great acoustics. Now for other side of the review. This facility has only been open a few weeks and with the popularity of last Friday's entertainment, they ran out of parking spaces so people had to park a mile away and be shuttled to the venue. My wife is disabled so I was allowed to drop her off but told I still had to park in the overflow lot. Then when I dropped her off she was told to leave her purse because they weren't allowed in the building even though she has breathing and diabetic supplies she may have needed and other people actually brought their purses in. People were parking in grass areas to avoid parking in the overflow lot. I'm quite sure there was 1000 parking spaces for a 2000 seat venue and they still ran out of room. And now the concert. Oh my goodness. Ronnie Milsap, one of my favorite artists of all times. We finally get in at 1 minute after the show starts and I hear "Prisoner of the Highway". Great music until the vocals started. What has happened to his voice? Has he had stroke? Can he not hear through the monitors? He's slurring his words and the tone is terrible. I spent over $200 for my wife and i to see this music icon and soon find out when I get home that he has sounded like this for 7 years. I never once thought about checking YouTube to see how he sounded. No one has complained that I saw through social media but as a band member can someone please work with him with what vocals he still has and help him through his songs? I want to remember him as this great country-pop icon i grew up to adore. Some songs actually sounded like a dragging record. I give the facility a 3 because of the parking. What will happen when The Beach Boys or the Oak ridge boys show up? I give Ronnie Milsap a 1 and I hate it so much. My wife simply cried as we listened. It was heart breaking. read more
