You can get a pitcher of soda for $10. I asked the bartender for a pitcher of water and he gave it to me! Not sure if I had to pay for that but I didn't ask and he didn't ask for payment so I tipped him instead.

The venue itself is spacious and handled a large crowd well. The multiple margarita stations were a great touch and added to the experience, though a few could have used a bit more ice as the day went on. There was a long line for tacos and at one point we had to wait for fresh batches, which slowed things down a bit. I also wish there were more options for those with food allergies or dietary restrictions. That said, we enjoyed connecting with a mix of new vendors and familiar faces, which made it feel like a great local event. The nachos from Casa Azul Taqueria were definitely a highlight. We also loved the photo booth, it was hysterically fun trying to switch props in three seconds. Another standout was making succulents with @sassysucculentsri, such a fun and unique addition to the event. Medici staff were friendly and kept things moving during a very busy event, which I appreciated. The music added to the energy, though it was a little loud at times. One small note, GPS brought me to the wrong entrance, but signage helped once I got close. It was a fun experience overall. A few tweaks would make it even better, but I'd absolutely check out another event here.

The bar is located indoors and there are a variety of tables indoors. Last night we saw couples dining, as well as hotel guests working on computers. The outside patio is lovely, with tables & chairs, and also comfortable couches. The view looks out to the East, and is very lovely. For drinks, Blu Violet has a cocktail menu, with most of the drinks in the $17 range. They also have a few beers on tap, bottled/canned beers, and I tried the most delicious cider I've ever had: Pumpkin Jack, Made by McKenzie's in upstate NY. Enter the walkway from Dyer St and on your right, cross the newly opened little bridge parallel to the river. You are now on the Urban Coastal Greenway to Point St. Park. Or, walk straight, cross the pedestrian bridge over the river, turn right and follow the walkway to a new open greenspace. Either way, these new segments of the East Coast Greenway bring green spaces, places to bike, walk, meet up, and be with nature by a running river. There are plans to bring even more food vendors to the park during warm months on the west side of the river by Dyer St. This is in addition to the food trucks that park on the east side by the pedestrian bridge already. Beer? Coffee? Music? Snack? This park is becoming the place to be.

I would have checked out all the other amenities more if I was planning to do nothing else but hang out at the hotel. The style is very different from what I'm accustomed to. Those who recommended this stay weren't joking about it being trendier than just another hotel. It's obvious that it caters to a much younger group that likes technology and gadgets. You can see it in the details. The lobby? Super cute. The WXYZ bar setup is chic and inviting, with plenty of little sitting areas -- and they had different boxed games on a few tables [plus the glass chess and tic tac toe] which I'm all about games nights so I loved this for having drinks with friends and being social. Rooftop bar is under construction right now but looks like it's scheduled to reopen this month. I spotted the gym on the first floor (did not participate this round lol). There's also a marketplace with a fun retro, 60s vibe right by the front desk -- that's the only spot with a microwave, but the rooms do have refrigerators. My room was a basic one, but it was perfect for me. The decor is definitely unique -- between the wallpaper, the psychedelic rug, and the comic-book-style pillows, it really gave me that fun, graphic "hero mode activated" vibe. I noticed people mentioning privacy concerns about the glass doors at the shower and the [much darker/almost obscured] glass door that shuts the toilet area [and yes the door does slide shut all the way] but anyone Im sharing a hotel room with has already seen it all so I was unbothered by it lol My one "thing" though is there are handheld clothes steamers in the room versus a traditional iron. Couple that with no pant hangers with clips and it's not the best situation to iron pants for work. Went back to the front desk this morning to make a purchase from the marketplace and again, the staff was friendly and helpful. I'm hibernating in my room til I check out, so I can't speak on the other amenities, but the lobby, the service, and my room were all really nice for a short stay.
