First time staying at an Aloft Hotel and was pleasantly surprised! From the moment I walked in, I found the decor to be quite trendy and the color scheme bold and elaborate. The lobby space was very open and good for groups to hang out either at the bar or by the billiards table. I would have checked out all the other amenities more if I was planning to do nothing else but hang out at the hotel. But heck, I'm by downtown Providence and my goal was to drop everything off and run off into the night like I'm young again. The room was very clean and well maintained. The style is very different from what I'm accustomed to. Those who recommended this stay weren't joking about it being trendier than just another hotel. It's obvious that it caters to a much younger group that likes technology and gadgets. You can see it in the details. I also love the shower head and rainfall combo and the provided personal care items. Definitely love the overall layout and design. Shout out to Ariani who checked me into the hotel. Got in late for a quick stay at the Aloft Providence Downtown. Front desk was welcoming and had my keys ready to go. Elevators use key access, which I actually appreciate the secure access. The lobby? Super cute. The WXYZ bar setup is chic and inviting, with plenty of little sitting areas -- and they had different boxed games on a few tables [plus the glass chess and tic tac toe] which I'm all about games nights so I loved this for having drinks with friends and being social. Rooftop bar is under construction right now but looks like it's scheduled to reopen this month. I spotted the gym on the first floor (did not participate this round lol). There's also a marketplace with a fun retro, 60s vibe right by the front desk -- that's the only spot with a microwave, but the rooms do have refrigerators. My room was a basic one, but it was perfect for me. The decor is definitely unique -- between the wallpaper, the psychedelic rug, and the comic-book-style pillows, it really gave me that fun, graphic "hero mode activated" vibe. I noticed people mentioning privacy concerns about the glass doors at the shower and the [much darker/almost obscured] glass door that shuts the toilet area [and yes the door does slide shut all the way] but anyone Im sharing a hotel room with has already seen it all so I was unbothered by it lol My one "thing" though is there are handheld clothes steamers in the room versus a traditional iron. Couple that with no pant hangers with clips and it's not the best situation to iron pants for work. Went back to the front desk this morning to make a purchase from the marketplace and again, the staff was friendly and helpful. I'm hibernating in my room til I check out, so I can't speak on the other amenities, but the lobby, the service, and my room were all really nice for a short stay. read more

Stayed here for a night for a work conference. Rooms were nice, it was quiet. They had a good hazy IPA on tap and the food they served at the event was really good, though that could have been outside catering. My only issue was I tried to do some work. There was no desk in the room, just a table but no chair, just a weird footstool. Went to the lobby instead and it was tough to find a spot that had an outlet. read more

Front desk was welcoming and nice. The room was clean, everything seemed updated, bed was comfortable, love the fluffy pillows, and the shower pressure was great. The towels were pretty thin and I wish there was a fridge with mini freezer section instead of a cooler, which turns off automatically by itself. Not great for storing perishable foods. I didn't use the hotel amenities but saw the gym from the outside. It looked well equipped and nice. The room came with two bottled waters, which is great! read more

Valet parking is $40. We decided to park at the Garrahy Courthouse Parking Structure (75 Clifford St) overnight for $20 instead. The room's bathroom lacks privacy. Using the toilet means you are somewhat visible through the glass door that doesn't shut close. The shower also has a glass door. The windows don't have a second set of curtains to provide privacy while letting in light. You have a fridge but no microwave. No complimentary breakfast. read more

I had a pretty good (short) stay when I was visiting some of my brokers in RI. Booking this was ok and close enough to the airport. I had arrived close to midnight after my flight delays. Because I was landing late, I do like the fact that this is part of Marriott so I was able to check in using their Bon Voyage app and get my mobile key that way. After the flight delays, I didn't want to deal with anyone so I really like this ability to check into my room. I think it was also helpful that the person at the front desk looked like she didn't want to talk to anyone neither and I was able to use my mobile key to scan in the elevator to my room as well. The place is clean and I really enjoy the interior design of the furniture. I didn't stay long enough to explore the place and check out the services. read more

Everything about the Aloft Providence is great, but what really sets it apart is the people. From the general manager to the front desk staff, housekeeping, the valets, and even the overnight team, everyone is genuinely kind and welcoming. They make you feel less like a guest and more like part of the family, always going out of their way to help--and doing it with a smile. The hotel itself is relatively new and very clean. It's not trying to be overly fancy, but it's solid, comfortable, has an upbeat vibe and is very well run. Sometimes that's exactly what you want: a place that's reliable, welcoming, and easy. There's even a really nice gym and high quality DryBar hair products! Aloft Providence is priced reasonably, especially given the terrific location. The area is very walkable, and the views of the water are lovely in every season. The overall atmosphere makes it easy to relax and enjoy your stay. They are also upgrading the dining choices, which really adds to the appeal. I find myself returning here over and over again. **** Update Wrote to Marriott( Aloft is one of their brands) No response. I am on day 2 of calls to Priceline to resolve error made at A Loft. A Loft staff refused to address it when I called and when Priceline called they were told that the manager would resolve that issue when he came in. He was due to arrive at 3 pm yesterday. I don't understand why an organization in such a competitive field would offer such a poor customer experience but I will be avoiding A Loft everywhere I travel. I will probably use Expedia instead of Priceline as well. *** Hotel is well situated for a stay in downtown Providence. Room was on the small side and had an unorthodox set up with a shower that was transparent and open to the "bedroom portion of the room. I was double charged( once by Priceline and once by hotel staff) when I caught this on my bill I called the hotel who told my they couldn't do anything and to call Priceline. I called Priceline who then had to call the hotel while I was on hold. Took 5 calls and 1.5 hours. Waiting on their manager to possibly take action. Terrible service and complete lack of care. read more

I've been to many hotels across the states and other countries and have to say the hospitality at Aloft was exceptional. I want to say that Sunny had made our stay so enjoyable. We had a long drive and arrived around 10 PM and were extremely tired. When we checked in, we were greeted by Sunny who instantly made us feel so welcomed. He was able to offer us a better room and was so friendly and professional about it. He also let us know that if we needed anything to let him know and his schedule. The rooms themselves were gorgeous and spacious and well decorated. Everything was very clean and the housekeeping staff were so lovely and friendly as well. The hotel is a new hotel in the area so everything is very modern. I highly recommend coming here if you plan on staying in Providence and were looking forward to coming back and staying here again. Love this hotel. It's near everything. There is a fun vibe and the hotel is bright and new. There is also a rooftop restaurant which surprisingly is not open at night. Fur babies are welcome and treated well. The staff was also very inclusive and welcoming to the humans. The place to go when you are in Providence. My dog gives it a paws up. read more

So I am torn.when we first went in and I am a big Marriott person, I thought it was a wear house and asked if I was in the right place. It looked like a disco nightclub so dark you can hardly find the front desk.But I did like the room.the beds were nice but there is no privacy as the shower is only protected by a shower curtain and the bathroom is a bard door. But as I said I liked the room much better than down stairs. read more

This Aloft feels very new, fresh and clean. It is well located being close to downtown and just a quick walk over to college row. Parking runs about $30 per night. I liked this in part because the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. I had my dog and they could not have been nicer. There is a gym and bar in the hotel, plus a rooftop area, however, the rooftop was not open during my stay. The hotel (and Alofts in general) tries to be "hip" but it is not over the top so traditional visitor would be deterred. Great visit and stay. read more

Hot mess is the best way to describe this hotel.... from confusion when we first checked in (already super late around 4am and asked repeatedly to work thing out the next day) to having ZERO parking and having to park in a parking garage 2 blocks and an alley away. The girl at the front desk said they had valley park wrong, oh but the guy had already gone home for the night (11pm) . They also some of the hardest beds for this price range ($200ish), no real wall between the bathroom & bedroom (literally a shower curtain), and light shines through from the bathroom into the beds... i had to stuff a pillow between the cracks. The bar is never open and when open closes around 10pm. Front desk staff was not friendly or welcoming and we were even charged twice for our stay (O noticed and had to request a refund). I requested a late check-out & was told it was $25/hr.... even though we had several problems, There was no accommodation. The only saving grace was the front desk manager who was very helpful with some tips about Boston. Best way to describe this place is trying to throw some granite in a home and calling it remodeled. read more

Staff super nice. My review is more about the design of the room. I know it's like a minimalist designed modern hotel, but I would suggest having a bathroom with an actual door. Well the TOILET has the door the rest does not. The wall of the bathroom doesn't go to the ceiling so while there is an entrance door if someone is in bed there is no privacy for the person in the bathroom. Plus to get in a shower you have to stand right near the entrance way because the other side of the shower door doesn't open. So if someone happens to enter when your getting ready to shower, they will see you naked as well as anyone in the hall. There is no privacy. We were there for a wedding. Getting ready was very hard. No dressing space and your hair dryer can only be plugged in by the shower if someone is showering. The lighting is so low I couldn't see to do my make up. Whoever designed this room should have to live in it. Bed headboard is a hazard, guarantee that you will bang your head on it when you lay down. Lobby has a bar and rooftop has a bar and some light food. Free coffee wasn't bad. Hotel is on a busy road so street noises might bother some people. read more

Upscale decor but Chaos. Could not find check in; kiosk too hidden. Poor lighting in lobby. More attention to grounds and lobby than actual rooms. Our mattress was heavily stained in room 432 and the sheets did not fit and rolled up and off. Room was very sparse; not enough table room; only one vanity wash bowl while the vanity area really lacks adequate lighting; too small trash bins and not enough of them. Not enough hangers and the clothing steamer did not work. Room felt cheap with really bad decor and mismatched furniture and lighting. Major lack of privacy in the bathroom area. The advertised water view room was not worth the extra cost as the water was just so far way; not as close as expected with the room looking down on building rooftops and ugly HVAC units. Lots of traffic noise; lots. Cars were sitting in driveway without drivers and driveway was always too blocked; we had to park across the street to check in. Just not a very good room or hotel and not worth the price. Hotel is more of a hostel if you ask me. read more

This hotel was fine, but the decor was awful in my opinion. There was no couch, ironing board, or closet in our room (for 3 ladies). The light in the bathroom also kept flickering. We tried to go to the rooftop bar for drinks around 9:30-10 and were told they couldn't seat 5 people together...but 4 of us could sit at a table and one person could stand at the bar alone...wtf? read more

It is 1:25 in the morning, there is a really really loud party in the courtyard below our room, and we can't sleep. I've never stayed in a louder hotel. The first time we called to complain, the front desk staff apologized. The second and third times we called, they didn't even have the courtesy to answer the phone. If the hotel wants to host a loud party, they should tell the other guests and help us find somewhere else to stay. read more

Terrible experience. The room is decorated to be trendy to a teenager rather than functional. No desk. No real dresser. No closet. Uncomfortable poorly-placed love seat with ugly cushions. The shower is in the same room as the bed, so you get to go to sleep in a steamy humid yuck after showering. The toilet is behind a flimsy sliding door, so I hope you like listening to your travel companion go. The snack bar is both minimalist and overpriced. The "gym" is tiny and gross. There was hair and dirt on the floor of my room. I'd give it zero stars, but Yelp forces one at the minimum. I get Marriott is trying to be bold with something new, but it would be just as bold to admit failure and have good rooms instead. read more

Really nice hotel in the Providence area! It's very trendy and chic while also intentional and comfortable. Ample street parking nearby except that is is capped to 2hrs so you may need to pay for the full day. They have one full bar in lobby that serves drinks and small eats with beautiful lounge furniture and cool ambiance. Plus Mike the bartender is a real nice guy! They also have a rooftop restaurant and bar upstairs on the 7th floor. Unfortunately, even if you are a guest you still need to make reservations. TV is large and perfectly positioned in the room, the shower is just about perfect and I love that they give you a steamer instead of an iron and board. Minus the one star because I had to ask for shower gel, shampoo and conditioner to be refilled and glasses provided were actually dirty so I did not use. read more

My friends and I are here celebrating my cousins 21st birthday and we stopped at the snack station to grab water while the blonde restaurant employee comes up behinds us and aggressively accuses me and my friends of stealing water. Side note the water she thought we stole was the complimentary water from the room that was basically empty!! would've been a 10/10 alp though bartender needs a better attitude as well read more

If you valet your vehicle for 35$ keep in mind you need to have patience and give yourself time when retrieving your vehicle. In my case it took 30 minutes. The hotel has no garage, no breakfast and the food and bar options are very mediocre. read more

I should have know my stay was going to be bad when I see a valet sign for 35 dollars and told that is the only garage within walking distance by valet and this was cheaper(both lies, a garage was less than 500 feet away and the garage was 20 dollars vs marriot wanting 35)Was absolutely floored by how unprofessional the staff is at this Marriot. I went during the first weekend in April, and as I enter the hotel, there are 2 men sitting on their cell phones and 1 on his laptop immediately at the reception desk. I had spoken to someone beforehand about an upgrade to the river view, was told that would be accommodated, and when I got to my room, there was no river view. The bed sheets were RIPPED and there was a USED face mask on the ground in our bedroom. The bathroom offered zero privacy which I guess is fine if you're alone, but there isn't a door to wall off bathroom and living space and the shower door is clear glass. The lounge downstairs was packed and their drink prices weren't that crazy . In the morning, they somehow ran out of coffee creamer and sugar (before 11 am) . I emailed the general manager and got a "we will try harder next time email" with zero apologies and what was clearly a copy and pasty cookie cutter template email. Marriot quality is not this, this property does not represent what being a marriot member is, and I hope whomever reads this will book anywhere but this marriot property. Brain Glenn, the assistant gm at this property was nice enough in our email correspondence, but he went radio silent after email #2 when I asked if it was protocol for employees to sit on their devices. read more

I stayed here for 3 nights in July for a conference for work. I really enjoyed this place. For those who haven't been to Providence before, it's quite small and it's quite hilly. The Downtown area is very small and there's not a ton here. However, considering Providence is so small, staying Downtown means you're close to many places! I was able to walk to pretty much everywhere I wanted to go. I walked all around Downtown, then on Campus Hill - all around Brown, and to Wickenden Street. So the location of this hotel is just great. The service here was fantastic and everyone was very kind- from the valet parking guys to the front desk staff. I used the valet parking option, which is honestly expensive but the best option for this hotel. I never had to wait very long for my car and it was super convenient. The room I stayed in was very nice and clean and pretty comfortable. The shower was lovely. I have no complaints! I would stay here again in the future for sure. read more

Honestly the Aloft wasn't my first choice when I found out I would be going on a business trip to Providence. After three days in the city I decided to look for other accommodations because I wasn't happy where I was staying. That's when I packed my bags and checked in to the Marriott Aloft. Now a little over two months later I'm still here and can honestly say that every single member of the hotel staff has been a pleasure to deal with. Besides one or two minor issues early in my stay there's nothing I could possibly take issue with. It's clean, it's comfortable, and it's convenient. Most importantly what makes this hotel is the staff. I could name names but there's too many people to list, they're all fantastic!. Was in town for a cheer comp this past weekend and stayed at the Aloft. The hotel was very clean!! From the moment we walked in to the day we walked out (2 days later) the staff was continually cleaning. Parking is a bit of a struggle when walking with a bunch of stuff from the garage to the hotel. Should offer valet service. The rooms were.... Interesting. Nice rooms but no door to the shower area. Dads that travels with their daughters, families that brought a guest with them, everyone sees everything if your not confined to the outside of the room or in the sleeping area. There is a door to the bathroom stall so that's good. We hung a blanket to give some privacy. Elija at the front desk was awesome!!! So welcoming and accommodating. Say hi to him if you see him!! Mike at the WXYX bar was my best friend Saturday night when I had a long day at cheer comp and was hangry and wanted my chick fil a that came an hour late and was missing fries. He makes a great drink and offers good company. The bar upstairs is not for us common folks. Brought my Yetti and jeans and pulled a U - turn after stepping off the elevator to find some swanky people. All in all we truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommended this hotel if you don't mind showering in the open or make a curtain. read more

Wonderful hotel. Great staff, friendly, helpful and very positive. We've stayed here multiple times and always enjoy ourselves. The staff goes out of their way to make you comfortable and give great service. They offer some fun little breakfast options and there are good restaurant options close by. Rooms are really comfy and spacious. Great rooftop bar space. Only suggestion would be to get more creative with the rooftop bar. That's a gold mine waiting to happen. Cooler furnishings, better music, and it'll soar. It's a little cold and just functional right now but has alot of potential. You may also want to request a room that faces the back of the hire as there seems to be a lot of people sort off drag racing or running illegal motorbikes out in the street late at night. But we'll be back for sure. read more

Johnny at the WXYZ bar in lobby is amazing!!!!! Went above and beyond to take care of us and our dog. Live locally and will come back for his amazing service. The clerk at desk and valet very nice and helpful. The roof top restaurant however were very unaccomidatimg and rude. Gave away reservation for outside to people in front of us who didnt have reservation and gave us a very hard time about ordeeing to go!! So we ate elsewhere!! Great Stay. Great Stay. My adult daughter found this location. It is located with a view of the water and within walking distance of lots of quant taverns and eateries. A few hours or less, to cities like Boston, Salem, and Martha's Vineyard. We ended each of our daily visits back at the hotel bar. Amazing bartender who is on his way to being a mixologist. Be sure to ask for a "KC Sidecar"; a drink he made up for my daughter. Laughing most of the night and listening to the bartender suggest places in Nantucket and other areas to visit made returning to the hotel feel like coming home. A two-day stay, turned into a four day stay; allowing us to find a gem located on the roof that has the best view out of any of the other Rooftops in the area. I appreciate this because in my travels around the world, this is seldom duplicated and it made our Father-daughter trip even more memorable. Almost forgot the management introduced themselves when I checked in and checked out. You will know these ladies when you see them, they're the ones that look like models. read more

If you're hoping for valet parking, you have to drive around the building several times and you still may not be able to pull in. This might be due to them holding cars at the front for a long period of time. Also, A lot of one-way streets makes it a bit complicated to circle around. Lastly this might just be for iPhones but the maps/directions drives you past the actual building, so if you pass the sign you're not sure where you are. This is also not helpful when trying to get back to the hotel from off site parking. Inside/vibe is OK - a bit tacky but better than other hotels in the area. We only stayed the night so not much else I can say. read more

Ugh. We reserved a King Capital View and got a Queen No View. We're here for the weekend and it's awful. Trying to go to sleep we're on the 5th floor and you can hear the music from the 1st floor. Not a great experience at all. read more
