Ha ha ha. Love the name of the store. Was able to find a lot of good recently priced alcoholic drinks hanging from beer too hard liquor etc. They also have a cute plush animals for sale. Staff super friendly and helpful. Prices clearly marked. Got a whole bunch of Alaskan beer to enjoy this evening while being on the lookout for Aurora Borealis lights. read more

Growler fill station when you walk in all the way to the right? Yes! Just for that, I would give this location 5 stars, but add great customer service and an outstanding beer selection, and it's on. (They have wine and stuff too, but it was cold and I needed a good, dark beer). We walked over from our hotel to check out this place (three people in our group opted out, so it meant more beer for my sister and I). We walked in and found the Alaskan Brewing Anniversary Ale on tap! We got a small growler and for less than a six pack back home, we had a wonderful beer. We probably should have stopped there, but we picked up some things we couldn't get back home in CA. It was nice seeing the selection and finding out just how many breweries there were in Alaska (there are a lot!). Check out was a snap as well. Friendly there too. This Brown Jug is HUGE. YUGE. It feels like it's even bigger than their largest Anchorage location! This is ground zero for all-things-ethanol. If it's distributed in Alaska, they probably have it here. They also have some sort of tasting school here! Really. Tons of taps for growler-fills as well, at least 20, probably more. This place has a fantastic selection of all kinds of alcohol. We came in looking to pick up some beer for the night, and we were very impressed with the selection. They have a ton of choices from Alaskan craft breweries--I was very pleased as I wanted to sample Alaskan craft brews that I can't easily find in Seattle. In addition to that, they have an impressive foreign bottle selection (lots of British, German, and Belgian options) as well as all the usual suspects when it comes to the craft beer scene in the mainland US (with a particular slant towards PNW breweries). There is also a growler filling station with ~20 taps, stacks on stacks of wine, and a diverse liquor portfolio. Prices are very fair, and service is helpful and friendly. This is absolutely the best liquor store in Fairbanks. It's also the largest Brown Jug in Alaska. And, coming from Seattle, this Brown Jug has a really amazing selection. They have everything you could ever need and a whole lot of stuff you won't. The staff is super helpful and can always make recommendations. In fact, the staff might be a little too overeager to help you out. Like all Brown Jugs, they also carry a store brand alternative that's usually priced to match the cheap liquor but with quality not uncomparable to more expensive options. read more

This store is pretty big and I was impressed with how many different items they had from all over the world. They had a sweet growler bar setup. I had a knowledgeable gentleman named Jordan who helped me figure out why I like Jack Daniels more than other whiskeys because of the rye in it. He suggested JP Wiser's rye and I am pleasantly surprised how good it turned out. I will be back! read more

Bought a couple of those single serve wines in a glass. Hiked to a nice picnic spot and opened them up for a romantic dinner and they tasted rancid. Looked at the "freshest by" date and it was over a year ago. Check expiration dates when you shop here. Otherwise best selection in Fairbanks. read more

I went into the Spenard store to buy champagne listed at $44.49. When i took it to the counter it rang $58. The checkout personnel made me show her the sticker at the cooler said you're right then got the manager. He said yes it says $44.49 but i'm not gonna sell it to you at that- it's too high a mark up. i'll replace the sticker and you still pay $58. I walked out. wont go there again!
