Title: Absolute Nightmare - Terrible Experience with Brownells I recently made the mistake of placing an order with Brownells, and it has been an absolute nightmare. I spent almost $1000 on a single part, expecting a reasonable level of service. What I got was the complete opposite. The processing of my order was delayed by a whopping 5 days, leaving me frustrated and questioning the competence of this company. To add insult to injury, I took the initiative to call and specifically requested FedEx Ground for shipping. What did I get? A USPS tracking number and a blatant disregard for my preference. This was my first order with Brownells, and it will undoubtedly be my last. The level of service provided is abysmal, and the overall experience has left me completely disappointed. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this company at all costs. They've lost a customer for life! read more

I have been trying to place orders for the past several weeks. Prior to the update, I was told to wait until after it occurred in order to secure proper fulfillment. That was three plus weeks ago. Ever since I have tried calling to no avail and chatting with customer service representatives when available. The chat is useless and each time I actually get to chat with someone they blow me off and tell me to call the number. Essentially they cannot submit my order, when I try calling the phone lines are constantly jammed for hours on end. Eventually Brownells will figure their website out, at which point I will redeem my gift certificate and NEVER EVER use their horrid services again. This is possibly the worst failure in a retailer I have ever experienced. Farewell Brownells, the damage is done and we the consumers will never forget. read more

What a waste of time! Placed an order over the weekend and was contacted Monday about my order. I called back Tuesday and they needed to verify one thing after another. First, my name. Then, my billing address. Then, my delivery address. Apparently, that was not enough. Then, they needed the amount of the order. I even went so far as to tell them I used the promotional code they gave me to apply to my first order for signing up to their website. AND STILL IT WAS NOT ENOUGH!!!!! Then they needed the last 4 of my credit card... WHERE DOES IT END???? I have like 8 cards and I couldn't remember which one I used. BUT THEY HAD TO HAVE IT SO I said screw it, cancel my order. Back in April 2016 my spouse was going to place an order for a part, was told after he provided his credit card information that they didn't have the part so he went and purchased it elsewhere. Fast forward to Aug 5..credit card shows a charge from Brownells..he calls because he hasn't ordered anything..was told they "back ordered" the part, which he did not know NOR ask them to do and would not stop the order. Told him once the order arrived here (though they confirmed it had not left their warehouse) he could return it for a refund. We absolutely will NOT recommend nor use this company again - even if we have to pay a little more elsewhere. This borders on fraud. Buyer beware. read more

I'm afraid I'm done with Brownells. In the past I would have rated them a 4 but recent experience forces me to downgrade them considerably. After placing an order for a $1500 annealing machine and not getting any ship notifications I decided to check in for a shipping date. Answers like, "soon" and "as soon as possible" totally cooled me to wanting to leave them with my hard earned money. When asking to cancel the order the answer is, "we can't do that." So, order hanging in limbo, no idea when it will ship, no idea what "soon" or "as soon as possible" means to them, (ie 1 week, 1 month, etc) Brownells becomes someone I just don't want to buy from. read more

I was looking for a Law Tactical folder for my AR pistol and could only find them at one other site and they wanted a extreme amount of money for them ($315.00). Brownells had them listed but out of stock. I kept checking back for about five days. I finally decided to go ahead and purchase it from Brownells because they would not charge my card until the item shipped. After about 6 days i got a notification that my item had shipped and was on the way. Got the item in Dayton Ohio 4 days later. Love it and it didn't cost me a fortune. I will be looking for future purchases at Brownells first. Thanks again for the great item and quick delivery. read more

Ordered a Crimson Trace laser sight kit, S&W magazines, cleaning brushes in two calibers and other items. All prices cheaper than other's on line. All items shipped and arrived on schedule, exactly as ordered. Hadn't done business with them or anyone else for several years. Have always had great luck with them. If you don't know exactly what you want or need, call them. They haven't let me down in years. Great organization. Their inventory is greater than any gun shop. read more

Great products, horrible employer. If the company treated their employees as good as their customers, they wouldn't lose so many hard working people. The fullfillment area is unbearable. Employees are hovered over, harassed, talked down to, ignored, and treated like children. Complaints have been made to management, upper management, and HR. And yet... it's allowed to continue. I ordered 223 ammo in December of 2012 and it still has not been delivered. they tell me its because they are just backed up. i have ordered 1000's of rounds from other places since then and its all been delivered. i understand 'back orders'.....i under stand 'out of stock' but 1.5 years? I love this company. I have spent thousands over the last decade with them and only had one defective part which they quickly sent me a shipping label for and exchanged with no questions asked. I would recommend this company to anyone and frequently do. Their selection is and prices are second to none. And customer service was great the one time I had a problem. read more
