I ordered 100 brass cases which were shown in stock. At checkout, I checked the box noting that I wanted them to hold the entire shipment in case there was a backorder, because if I couldn't get 100 pieces of the same brand then I didn't want any at all. The next part, in it's entirety, blows my mind. They only had 50 in stock. No big deal, mistakes happen.They cancelled half my order and shipped out only 50 cases without notifying me. Still not a big deal really. I emailed them politely asking what's going on. They waited nearly a week to respond until after the shipment arrived so that I couldn't refuse delivery of the package that took 6 days to arrive. They said that it wasn't in stock so they cancelled 50 and never notified me. I was then advised that they had it in stock now and that I could place a new order and pay the shipping on my end. What? You directly refused to follow an option that you provided me and then tried to stiff me with the charge. I replied explaining the issue in detail over two weeks ago and asked that they pay the shipping and I would order the second 50, but they never responded. What a joke. FWIW the cases arrived so mangled they were basically unusable even if they had sent the entire order. They looked like they'd been repeatedly stepped on. Called Brownells to confirm both items were indeed sent in the same package; customer service (BTW was an actual person not a computer) asked no questions and immediately resent the item via UPS free of charge. I ordered a Forester Bump Die Kit, which in the past has contained 3 bushings. It clearly states on Brownells site that the order number is a KIT and the picture clearly shows that it has 3 bushings. It arrived with the die and NO bushings. So I called Brownells CS, after a 30 plus minute wait, I got a live person that stated they could not help me and passed me along to another CS person. She clearly did not want to deal with the problem and offered to let me speak with a supposed supervisor. Again on hold for quite some time and person finally came on the line. It was clear from the beginning she did not care and was trained to "stonewall" and put the blame on the customer and the vendor. She literally throw Forester Die company under the bus. She stated that they had changed and was no longer including the 3 bushings. I quickly pointed out that Brownells still sells the kits with 3 bushings. She ask for a part number to prove it...oh my...I gave it to her and she was totally surprised and did not know how to respond. She finally said I should have read the entire product description and the last sentence states that bushings are sold separate. REALLY who reads entire product descriptions. Her pert unprofessional attitude is just another example of how Brownells has slipped away from quality customer service to a "WE JUST DON'T CARE" company. In the end, she stated the whole fiasco was my fault, Forester was at fault and she would send a return label if that would help out. WOW In the end, I turned around and called Forester, let them know that Brownells had "thrown them under the bus" and explained the entire situation. Their CS rep was very understanding and took care of the situation in a very polite and professional manner. I purchased a laser for a specific handgun based on the customer service employee telling me it would fit my gun. The employee had no clue and the laser did not fit. I sent the laser back. I have dealt with Brownells for years with much satisfaction, but that seems to have changed. I had a problem with a incorrectly manufactured Sinclair part. After trying to explain the problem to a tech support person, I was sent a second incorrectly made part (after spending $3 to send back the first one, which cost $8). After another long conversation with tech support, who assured me they had "checked" all the parts in stock, I was then sent a third incorrect part (obviously unopened in package) and was essentially told not to bother them again. Throughout, I was treated like a dummy, They suggested that my Hornady, Nosler, and Berger bullets must be the wrong size, and their part (bullet comparator) was correct! I can understand a company making a mistake, but flat-out lying to a customer about it is inexcusable. Poor, poor customer service. read more

I placed an order for an item that was in stock and received email confirmation that it was in stock after ordering. The next day I received an email saying that the item was now on back order. Brownell's continued to accept back orders on the same item for several weeks after I placed my order. These customers who placed back orders are receiving their items already (the exact same ones I ordered), and I have heard nothing about my order. They need to start filling orders on a first come, first served basis. Unless they make this right they have lost another customer. read more

I ordered an e-gift card for my son and scheduled this to be sent on his actual birthday. I did this over a week in advance. I spoke to someone in customer support on his actual birthday to verify my information and make sure it went out on that day. The service up to this point was so-so. As of the evening of his birthday the e-gift card had not been delivered. I had to call today and remind them to send. I understand mistakes can happen but this was 4 days after the day it should have gone out and not one person I spoke to said they were sorry. I have been ordering from Brownells for years. Prices tend to be a little higher, but they often have small or hard to find items. I just placed an order for a set of pistol sights, a delta ring, and tiny tube of loctite. ...(for reference these items could fit in a the palm of a childs hand and likely weigh a few ounces) I placed the order in a hurry and honestly didnt check the shipping charge. They charged me $15 for this! I live a couple of states east and this was no special rush shipping! Ridiculous. I called the next day and they would do nothing for me. Ordered several reloading dies today online and several hours later realized I'd made a mistake. Called and tried to get the order changed, but the nice customer service agent told me that the order had already been sent to the warehouse for processing and that she couldn't help me make the changes. Had the worst experience with Brownell exchange policy ever! After having a problem with one of THEIR components in a kit they had me return the entire kit for an exchange of the one Brownell piece that failed, after 14 day for processing, without contacting me they decided to cancel my order/exchange. Their excuse was they will no longer carry this kit. I was informed of this when I called to check on the exchange, the customer service people were very polite in telling me thats all they can do and they said they credited my credit card back the original cost. I contacted the credit card company and as par for course there was no credit. Had to call back to get them to credit the money. Brownell has a 100% satisfaction guarantee. don't believe it! In order to replace the kit, buying the part separately it would cost about twice as much, and all parts are listed in their catalog. read more

When I called they told me that they cancelled the order because they couldn't confirm the information that I entered online.
