We have a Hayward Hydrapure system which requires "bulb replacement". Our previous tech from another company went out on disability. We were given the name of Browning Pools and Spas. My initial telephone contact with Karinna was excellent. The bulbs were ordered and the techs arrived "on-time" on the day indicated. Jake and Aaron were a wealth of information. I needed a piece of liner retainer for a vinyl pool that they built years ago. I was told that the piece was only available for their technician and that I could not purchase it for myself. That means that I would have to pay in excess of 400.00 for someone to travel 60 miles and install it for me. It is a 5 minute job that I can do myself! My experience with Browning Pools went from 5 stars to zero stars during the entire pool building process. I contacted Browning for my pool project and my sales rep was amazing. He came out and measured my yard and was extremely professional. He answered all of our questions and even had one of the owners sit down with us to address any questions he couldn't answer. We even brought up the bad reviews we read online and they had responses for those. Seeing how we wanted a fiberglass pool built by River Pools and Browning was the only company working with them in our area (more on that later) we signed the contract and off we went. The first crew that came to our house were exceptional. This team that dug the hole and put the pool in the yard did a fantastic job. We even bought the guys lunch because of their hard work and skill. At this point we are thrilled that the project is going so well. The concrete and paving crew was also amazing. They did a great job and we were very happy. Now this is when everything takes a complete turn and sugar turns to sh*t..... The landscaping crew was awful. I mean atrocious. They attempted to turn our backyard around the pool into a ski slope. They made zero effort to level things off (which was in the contract) and tried to bury huge chunks of concrete in the yard. I called the project manager and even sent photos and videos of these gentlemen doing this and he did nothing about it. My wife and I had to go outside and literally yell at them to stop doing what they were doing. Our original PM never showed back up to our site. Browning sent another gentleman who flat out told me "as far as we are concerned the project is done." Hot tub still not delivered, pool heater still not delivered but the project is done? I wind up having to contact another company to get our yard in order because of Browning's refusal. More money spent. Wait, it gets worse. Included in the contract was a year of pool cleaning services. The first month of service they send you the A team. The pool looks amazing after each cleaning. After that month here comes the F team. Guys that literally spend 5 minutes at your property and send a report that the pool is clean. I called the service department to complain only to be told "that is the standard time it takes to clean a pool." Frustration is building at this point. Next I get a phone call from service that says "if you want to use us for pool cleaning next summer it will be a $200 fuel charge PER VISIT because you are out of our area." I wasn't out of your area when you wanted six figures from me but now all of a sudden I'm too far to do business with? Lastly, Browning came to winterize the pool after the first season and drilled a hole right through one of the deck jet lines. Did the guy say anything? Absolutely not. We didn't find out until the next summer. I called Browning and told them what happened and I get told they will send a team out to look at it. Two guys alone out and they cannot fix it because it is under the pavers and concrete. They tell me they would let the service manager know and he would call me. I made calls to Browning for a year and even emailed the owner and never received a response. The feature was never fixed and Browning has never contacted me about me about making it right. If you are considering a pool or hot tub project you should not consider using this company. read more

I would like to give them a zero rating. After moving to the area we wanted to inquire about ozone vs salt systems. The front desk sales people were fine and asked for another person to assist us. His name was Douglas Rumpf. He was quite rude and made crude remarks telling us to "get out of this store." He did not respond to efforts to calm him and ask our questions about the different systems noted above. We asked to speak with his supervisor and he initially refused to give us their name , pointed to his shirt and said "Here , it's Browning." I wrote to the owners and never got a reply. We had our pool renovated by Browning. Although there were communication issues, the renovation turned out great. My problems began with a recent pool pump issue. The motor bearings are bad, and the pump is still under warranty (by the way, Browning did not tell me this until I asked and looked back at my own documentation). They said that they filed a warranty claim with Hayward. It has been over two weeks, and no one there will return any of my communications to give me an updated status. Meanwhile, the pump motor continues to get worse. I had expected better, but my opinion is that the 'service' department is not very good at communicating or in my case, making an effort to get this resolved. I have no idea how long this will take. We hired this company and things were going well while there were still open draws to collect. Once final payment was made the response time and lack of service is really a ZERO star. Still waiting on final punch items to be done a year after work was completed. I strongly suggest avoiding this company if you are looking to have a pool built. First review was hidden by yelp, but really don't want anyone to go through having to deal with Browning. Steer clear of Browning Pools. First, the company uses an arbitration clause in their contracts (or at least did with me) to protect themselves from being sued when they don't fulfill their obligations. This may be why they feel no obligation to complete anything that they don't want to complete. They find ways to move the needle on the price that are dubious. Whenever they run into an issue that requires more cash it will be thousands in their favor. When they fail to hold up their end of the contract or other agreements (which is a lot as other reviews note), they might toss you 150 bucks (i.e. not providing specified landscaping, electrical, etc. are things we experienced). However, when they miscalculated elevation on the initial survey and it cost me $3K to correct. During excavation they dug with heavy equipment directly onto the marks for underground utilities. Luckily they missed my main power and water line and only snapped the cable line. They said they weren't responsible for utilities and that missing "two out of three ain't bad". Once they start digging, they have you over a barrel and the relationship that started out great starts feeling more like a hostage situation. I will say, in spite of being the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with, the pool does look good. I hope it holds up because I have little confidence that Browning will support warranty work, although to be fair, I have yet to have to pursue any as we are only 2 years into owning our pool. read more

Our pool was built by Browning so when we started to have a leak last summer, we called them to find the leak and repair it. After 2 months of scheduling problems, they finally called an outside service to find the leak. We tried to schedule the repairs and finally in November, we gave up and closed the pool. Browning promised to put us on the schedule in March to immediate repairs. We have been calling to schedule these repairs for two months and keep being told that "everyone is in a meeting". We are looking for a new pool company. read more

Very frustrating company to work with. As others have said, they find ways to continually add to the bill including billing for change orders that were never issued or signed before work was done. Completely tone deaf when you try to talk to them. And they do try to withhold final items until you pay their fake bills. Sales person lied from the start. We had just moved into a new house with a pool that, unfortunately, did not have a pool cover. Getting a cover was a top priority for me and I called Browning Pools to ask for their help. The customer service was amazing and they quickly came out to measure the pool and place the order for the cover. Two weeks later the Loop Loc Cover was installed. Not only does it look great, but my friends dog walked on top of it, and she was safe. I highly recommended this company! read more

They passed me to someone with more expertise who would be able to answer my questions. However, this person was exceptionally rude, unpleasant and dismissive and despite my remaining calm and polite continued this way throughout the conversation. Someone who displays such unprovoked hostility as this should not work in the service sector. The Greatest "Show" on Earth! Marquis Spas, Ryan Saunders and Browning Pools are simply the best! In December I received my second new Marquis Spa and have to question why anyone would ever settle for less. My first tub lasted 15 years. Through this long experience, my wife and I came to realize and totally appreciate the therapeutic benefit the Marquis spa brings to our health. Our new tub "the Show model" is top of the line and incredible to experience. We are completely happy with this selection. Then there's Browning Pools and our salesman Ryan Saunders. Professional, well versed and organized. From the initial selection and purchase, through the special order process and ultimately our precision (crane) delivery, just a phenomenal, seamless job well done by everyone. I was very selective of who would complete such an extensive and invasive project and I must say that my expectations were superseded. The customer service I experienced was fantastic! Everyone made sure to answer all my questions and made me feel truly heard. From the initial consultation to the building process, Chuck was very professional and willing to go the extra mile to make sure he was building the pool of our dreams. The staff were extremely punctual and respectful of our home. They made sure to clean up after themselves and never cut a corner, ensuring our complete satisfaction. Everyone was very organized and meticulous. This made a usually hectic and stressful process smooth and efficient. If I had to go through this process again, I am confident I would choose browning pools in a heartbeat. I am now a loyal customer and cannot recommend them enough. This is the second summer in a row that our phone calls and requests for the part to be order have been ignored. To be told that there is nothing in their system about our pool is an issue also. My husband and I were thrilled with the design and construction of our pool through Browning. They had ideas for me when I wasn't sure what I wanted and then listened to me as I got more confident and incorporated some of my last-minute ideas like a slide and waterfall. They even moved a boulder just to make me happy! We are getting ready to begin season 5 with our pool and everything is just as nice as it was on day 1. The boulder looks even better! We entrust Browning with the annual opening and closing of the pool, and we take care of everything in between. We have a salt-water chlorine generator and it's as close to maintenance free as you can get. I had a amazing custom pool built by Browning and this is our 5th yr of opening our pool. The pool looks amazing! What they don't tell you is that the products you pay a lot of money for will never work properly and you will spend thousands every year fixing bad equipment. I have had nothing but broken lights that have never worked and are hanging out of the wall by wires ( and there quote was over 3,000) to fix something that never worked. My pump broke, motor, valves, jets in my spa won't work right. I have been over charged on my credit card without my permission and overcharged for prices that were given to me on the phone and then my credit card has a much higher price. Last year they came without my permission and without me calling or scheduling closing and emptied my warm 90 degree pool and closed my pool (they got the address wrong on what pool to close) when I had a pool party scheduled. I do Not recommend using this company because of the poor service after your pool is complete ( its on you..the warranty will have been expired by 1 day) or they won't come and fix what never worked without charging). read more

Not only their service staff, Tammy and Letitia, always work to get any service problems taken care of quickly, but Marty and his retail staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
