Friendly, thorough, professional and timely. I had to have a bumper cover replaced and it was quite reasonable.

My car was repaired above my expectations and on time. He even repaired a few items that were not…read morea part of the original estimate at no additional charge. I would go there again.

It was a bad experience. I see other reviews on google stating that he is a nice guy, but…read moreunfortunately being nice is not all it takes to do good business. I had two cars, one that had an interior fire, and the other of the same year/make/model that was drive-able but old and beat up. I went to him in early June for the job, so that he can take the body of the burned car that was in excellent condition, and put it on the drive-able car. He told me that he would do the job in the second week of July, and he would like to first order the roof and quarter panel brand new rather than take it from the burned car. I gave him the deposit for that on July 7th, left him with the drive-able car, and I scheduled the burned car to be shipped to him two weeks later. Well, it turned out he didn't do the job at all. In early August, I stopped by and saw that he didn't do the initial job, and he had only swapped the hood of the car, no roof or quarter panel work. I explained to him that the roof is the most important task because the sunroof of the drive-able car had a leak in it. A few weeks later I stopped by again and I saw that he had changed the doors...so I had the same conversation with him again about the roof. A few weeks after that I stopped by and the fenders and trunk were changed, and still no roof...same conversation again. I eventually started to call him once a week, and later multiple times per week. It was going too far. His excuse in August for not doing the work was that it was too hot. In October the excuse was because it was raining all the time. Finally in November, I became flabbergasted to find out that he never attempted to order the roof until that first week of Nov. He told me that he finally attempted to order it and found out that he can't get it new anymore, so at that point he wanted to cut out the roof of the burned car. Ok, so I said let's do it. The weeks began to pass by again, and this time his excuse was that it was snowing all the time and can't cut out the roof like that. On two occasions I offered to buy him a large tent just to get the job done, but he would stay quiet. He continuously promised me he would get the job done, kept giving me new dates two weeks down the road, and when that date would come, he would do the same thing all over again. Finally after Thanksgiving I had enough and had the two cars taken away from him, to a body mechanic that was recommended to me in Gilboa. Frank was able to make good, and give me a discounted rate for the work he did, which was good enough to cover me using a triple-A tow for the drive-able car, and $350 to tow the burned car. I'm willing to give him here two stars instead of one, for his ability to attempt to make good, but the truth is that I would not have chosen him if I knew this would happen. He seemed to have good reviews when I checked him out. If I had seen a review like this, I would have chosen some one else. I had 2 other shops, not including the one in Gilboa, that wanted to do the job, but wanted to make me wait until Sept. Frank said he would do it in the second week of July, even pointed at his calendar with I was with him saying, "I'll get it done this week" as he rubbed his finger back and forth on that week on the calendar. I explained to the new mechanic in Gilboa what had happened, and he felt bad for me, and made me wait only 3 weeks instead of 3 months before getting to the job. Then, the new mechanic, all in a single day, (1) cut out the roof from the burned car, (2) cut out the roof from the drive-able car, and (3) welded the other roof into the drive-able car. He said on at least 3 occasions, "I don't know why that guy in Gloversville had so much trouble with a roof."
