I approached Alex to ask for help. I explained my husband hates to shoe shop, is incredibly picky, and is very difficult to fit. He still helped us! And he REALLY helped us. He patiently brought out every shoe my husband wanted to try, often exchanging one size for another. He also made suggestions once we were into the process and he understood my spouses needs and wants. In short, what we were dreading turned into a terrific experience, and introduced my husband to new styles and brands to consider next time. While I'm raving about Alex, in particular, I believe every employee in the store (on a busy Saturday) offered to help me. Are you looking for the best advice for your feet? These people are knowledgeable, friendly and kind. I have a problem with a bunion, which makes it very painful to walk when I get out of bed in the morning. I know, TMI about feet! My doctor told me that I had to wear hard shoes in the house. Well we are a no shoes in the house type of people, so I went to Brown's to try to find some slippers that have stiff soles. The person helping me went directly to a perfect solution immediately after I explained my plight. And when I was trying on the slippers, she also noticed that my Hoka's were so worn the bottoms were actually very flexible and the tread was gone. This has become my latest go to place for shoes. I have weak arches and a bunion. The Taos boots they have carried this fall & winter are my go to boots for all weather that Colorado throws at us. They keep my feet pain free, which is huge with all the walking I do every day. Great customer service as well. The hardest part is that my 16 yr old daughter borrows these regularly because she finds them very comfortable as well. read more

Great selection of comfort and walking shoes here, but the service seems stressed. Like the salespeople need to make quota or are just going through the motions to sell the most shoes they can. Half-hearted, not smiley or friendly -- more, uh, tired. I tried on some Earthies shoes I LOVED, but I asked for a 8.5 and was told that they only come in whole sizes. Unfortunately the 8 was too small and the 9 was too loose. I didn't buy either one. Then I went online and guess what? That style does indeed come in an 8.5! So why lie and try to get me to buy a shoe that is too small for me? I don't get it. And I won't be buying any shoes from here any time soon. I was honestly really impressed coming to Brown's. I have wide hobbit feet and needed sneakers but hate fugly old lady white shoes. A friendly and helpful saleswoman showed me several options, measuring my foot for me to confirm the size and got each pair ready for me and helped me put on each pair. I have not had someone help me put on shoes since my VT hometown FAVORITE shoe store that went out of business almost 10yrs ago. With her help, I found a wonderful and colorful blue pair of nice Dansko sneakers that I just love. They are legitimately the first sneakers I have that I actually enjoy wearing. They are also nice and light. Prices seemed fair, I am willing to pay for quality if it lasts. I am also thrilled to find out they carry Birkenstocks (which also fit hobbit feet) and I will definitely be buying a few pairs at Brown's for the summer! read more

Finding shoes that fit my wide, flat feet can be a long process. When I walked through the door of Brown's I'd already visited 5 or 6 stores. Luckily, this time I was waited on by Raymond. He immediately zeroed in on what I needed and 10 minutes after sitting down I had new boots that fit me perfectly. He knew the products and he knew which ones would best suit me. This is the only place to buy quality kids shoes in Longmont. I have purchased several back to school shoes for my kids and have never had anything less than the best in service and kindness from the employees. When I was hesitant purchasing a certain style of velcro straps on a pair of shoes for my 5 yr old, they guaranteed that if I wasn't completely happy with them down the road we could bring them back...well, 2 months later those shoes fell apart and they took that shoe back and gave us that price off a brand new pair. Went this weekend to Brown's Shoe Fit to look at any new shoes that might have come in. Huge Sale going on was able to get shoes for 50% off. Manager Jason was great, helpful, friendly, and spent the extra time to help us with our purchase. Other staff members were attentive, and willing to help. The staff is nice and helpful when they can. Good selection of kids shoes but if your an adult and wear ANYTHING under size 9 then you shouldn't bother. I've been there several times and they never have my size. I went through the entire adult men's section and found two hoes of any type that were under size nine. I usually am not a "review" person but I just really wanted to express my gratitude to the young man that helped me get a perfect pair of walking shoes. I was having so much trouble with new shoes I bought elsewhere come to find I was wearing the wrong size AND width. I was bed ridden for a few years and really wanted to get back in shape. I was having the worst "charlie horses" with the other shoes...so I guess gaining weight when I wasn't well affected my foot size as well. Shoes were never all that comfortable before and I think that had a lot to do with needing to wear wide shoes. So he patiently brought out several pair, showed me methods of how to tie shoe laces more effectively and things I really didn't think made much difference but low and behold it sure did.
