Really disappointed with this place since the new ownership took over. Someone very close to me was…read morerecently fired by the new owner, Tammy, over something that made absolutely no sense. Under the previous ownership, there wasn't really an assigned manager role and employees were told how to handle customers asking for one. Apparently those expectations changed without being clearly communicated. This all came after a customer complained during a day when their phones literally weren't working properly. I've also been told another employee, who is autistic, was abruptly fired and wasn't even able to clearly explain why. For a nursery that's been around for over 50 years, it's sad seeing it go in this direction. I won't be supporting this place anymore and would recommend going elsewhere.

I could already see several things I'll be returning to shop for! The primary reason for my positive review, however, is the fantastic customer service we received from Priya. We were there to view plants recommended by our landscape contractor and explore other possibilities. Our contractor will ultimately be purchasing from this location on our behalf, so we were simply shopping the options. That didn't deter Priya from willingly walking us around and serving as our "tour guide" for the recommended plants on our list. She was incredibly knowledgeable, supremely friendly, and genuinely eager to assist--despite the fact that our visit wasn't going to result in an immediate sale. She definitely knew her way around the "yard"--she instantly knew the location of every plant we inquired about. Green Acres is very fortunate to have such a wonderful employee! Aside from the order our contractor will be placing, we will absolutely be returning for future purchases as we complete a very comprehensive overhaul of our yard. I had a very frustrating experience when purchasing a houseplant from this store. At no point while…read moreshopping did I see any signs stating that houseplants are non-refundable. When I went through checkout, the cashier also did not mention that the plant could not be returned. About an hour later, I returned to the store because I needed to return the plant, and that's when I was told that houseplants are not refundable. The employee pointed out that the policy was printed on the receipt. Unfortunately, that does not help customers because the receipt is only given after the purchase has already been completed. By then, it is too late to make an informed decision. If this policy is important, there should be clear signs displayed in the plant section and at the register. Customers should also be verbally informed during checkout, especially since cashiers can sometimes forget to mention it. Better communication would prevent confusion and save customers from wasting time and money. I am disappointed by the lack of transparency and hope the store improves how it communicates its return policy in the future.
