I politely asked if the pricing varied depending on the type of eyebrow styling service I wanted. I received a (cold) response that it was a set price, so I followed up respectfully and asked what the cost would be. My message was seen, but I never received a response. I found this experience very disappointing and unprofessional. As a customer, I believe it is reasonable to ask about pricing before committing to a service. I also noticed that most of the clients featured on the business's social media appeared to be mostly white, which made me feel uneasy and left me wondering whether I was ignored because I am Hispanic. I cannot say for certain why I did not receive a response, but the lack of communication left me feeling unwelcome. A simple answer about pricing would have gone a long way. I hope future customers receive the basic courtesy and professionalism they deserve. I'm also glad I experienced this before blindly booking.

I would just like to say that Kris made me so gorgeous on my special day. I live down in Los Angeles and we decided that Sonoma would be a perfect destination wedding. I just had my wedding a week ago and felt the need to come on here and rave about the service I received. She was very professional from the get go and highly responsive thru emails and phone calls. She was the first one to respond to my online requests and one of the few that took the time to call me to discuss my options. Since I was researching everything from far away, she was very helpful. My wedding day went off without a hitch and my makeup looked amazing and stayed on all day. I practically needed some paint thinner and a chisel to get it off at the end of the night. LOL It was about 85 degrees and even taking all the pictures in the heat, my makeup stayed in tact. I got several compliments. For all those brides out there searching for a good makeup artist in the Sonoma area - please do yourselves a favor and hire Kris. You will def regret if it you don't. I suggest you do the trial, i felt it necessary. My trial session was great and my makeup was immaculate, but on the big day, I didn't think it possible but wow! I am also Indian, and was having an Indian wedding, so I needed someone who would be able to work with my skin tone/makeup needs. I take care of my skin but (or maybe, therefore) do not wear make up daily. I did not want to be overdone, and my husband wouldn't have liked it either. My mom NEVER wears makeup, so was very hesitant to even get it done for the wedding, but my sister and I convinced her it would be better for the photos (we were TOTALLY right). Kris made me look like myself, but also STUNNING. I did not feel overdone, and would often forget that I was wearing makeup, until I'd catch a glimpse in the mirror-- it was like I was lightly--but authentically-- photoshopped. Same thing for my mom and sister... we still, to this day, talk about how Kris walked an incredibly fine line, and made us feel SO good, both in terms of how we looked AND felt (she is so chill and calming! Her studio is great.) We still revel in the compliments we get from anyone who sees the photos! She matched my makeup to my skin, and my red/orange/gold wedding dress (traditional Indian colors) perfectly. Kris also recommended my hair styles who I was very happy with. I did the trial the morning of one of my other wedding events earlier that week, which was a genius idea she suggested. I could go on and on, but I think the biggest compliment I can give Kris is: makeup was something I was not particularly looking forward to, and my experience with Kris was probably one of my favorite memories of the whole wedding.

If you are looking for 5star spa like professionalism at a price point that won't break the bank then you must check out Koko's of Sonoma....Ok yes, a bold statement for sure, but as someone who has spent countless $$$ at places like the St Regis, Mandarin Oriental, etc to find the quality of service and professionalism that you get at Koko's supports that type of statement. I came across Koko's 2 years year's ago when I was in Sonoma visiting my family for a family get together. I was desperate to get a waxing before the family get together, I simply ran out of time back in the city . Because I have sensitive skin, and pretty much only use dermalogica products, my criteria was pretty specific. I found Koko's and decided to give them a shot. I met Janet, proprietor of the business, and she was extremely thoughtful and professional. Even though it was just a brow, lip and chin wax, (which in the city can be 5 min transaction leaving you red and sore for half a day and bumpy for days after) that was not the case with Janet. She asked me how I would like the shape of my brows, and then informed me at each stage what she was doing to make sure I was happy with what she had done which was really nice because for me, I'm really picky about my brows and don't like people just ripping away at them! Those things just do not grow back right if not done with precision! The appointment was around 20mins. Not too long but long enough to feel like attention was taken. I also asked Janet about the redness on my right cheek and explained that while I love getting facials I can't because most places use products and or machines which aggravate my sensitive skin. After chatting with her about her approach and seeing the positive results from the waxing alone, I decided to book a facial for the next time I came back to Sonoma. I booked the European facial about 1 month later and was completely thrilled with the outcome. Whether it was her technique and a combination of the products (and the mask :)! ) after the facial my skin looked more hydrated and relaxed then it has in a long time. And most importantly, the exfoliation & extractions (which usually set my skin off) were no problem. I was completely thrilled that I could once again get facials without having repercussions to my skin!! I have since been to Koko's more then a dozen times over the course of 2 years. While I do live in the City, I have now made this part of a routine when I go to visit my family. Not only is my family happy that they see me more, but my skin is happier and healthier . The issues with the redness (mild rosacea) are really controlled now and don't flare up with my treatments thanks in part to the Dermalogica hook up to get the right products that work for my skin type! What started with a "feeling lucky" google search, has turned in to be really good luck on my side. Thank you Janet for what you've done for my skin. Look forward to many more treatments.
