This was the first medical spa I came to after moving to Sonoma to get Botox. This will also be the ONLY medical spa I visit in Sonoma going forward. MICRO-NEEDLING!! YES. YES! YES!!!! Yo be sure, it's spicier than microdermabrasion, but sooooooo worth it! The discomfort for me was on par with facial hair removal via threading, but only at first. Once you're a minute into it, you know what to expect & can truly acclimate to the sensation. I actually found myself enjoying the exhilarating experience. The trick was to lean in & be open instead of white-knuckling through it. (Think cold plunge.) BEWARE of this place! These people are way below suboptimal! Not only are they rude, they are not knowledgeable of basic things and basic products and how to even do a simple facial. I've never had anybody leave cream all over my eyelashes when getting a facial. The person doing it was going all over my eyes with cream! And I've had countless facials done. Second, she was not aware of major numbing products that have been used in the industry for decades, and she had no idea if their numbing creams are medical grade or not, she is clearly a failure as an aesthetician. Third, the nurse who was going to perform the microneedling had no idea what "Microneedling RF" is! Which is the one that uses radio frequency energy. She had no idea what that was when I asked if their treatment was RF or just the old kind. Excuse me? How long have you been doing this? And have you ever taken courses to keep up with the industry and with the current techniques??? Fourth, they refused to delete my photos even though I decided to not be treated there. They have my property and my copyright and I did not give them consent to have my photos with no treatment done!!! THEY DO NOT HAVE MY CONSENT TO KEEP MY PHOTOS!!! They must be deleted ASAP. This is not over. And finally, if all that wasn't enough, the nurse who was going to perform the microneedling had just had covid less than a week prior and insisted that because her test came out negative, that she was not contagious, yet she was constantly coughing! Are you freaking kidding me?!!! Stay away from this place please! Reply to comments by business owner: Oh yes! This review perfectly reflects the unprofessional and below standards of this business. I was just going through my Yelp which I rarely do and saw the incorrect, misleading and outright lies written in response to my original post. Of course the owner will try to defend and even lie to try to keep any bad reviews from being noticed. Definitely think twice and consider other options before booking here!! My first attempt for an appointment here was sometime in mid-2024 on a Monday morning, I think around 11 or 12. They are a 1/2 hour drive from where I live and I got into town around a few hours early to enjoy some coffee and walk around Sonoma. [[HIGHLIGHT]]A little over an hour before my appointment, I received a phone call letting me know that my appointment was cancelled--no explanation, no apology, no offer to reschedule.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Incredibly unprofessional, obviously, and an unfortunate waste of my time. I 100% should have let the relationship die then and there but I decided to make 1 more attempt. I scheduled an appointment for the 1st week in January which I then had to cancel--which I did with an entire week's notice. The business still charged me a $30 "non-refundable deposit" even though their website clearly states: "We ask that you please reschedule or cancel at least 1day before the beginning of your appointment." I cancelled my appointment SIX days before it was scheduled and they refused to honor their policy as it is laid out online. Apparently they really need my $30!! I have been going to Sonoma MD Medical Spa for the last couple of months for Vivace RF Miconeedling treatments. They say that it takes about 3 to 4 months to start to see any changes but I think I can see some results already if I look really close. I can't wait for the final results. Everyone that works there is really nice and friendly. Gina is giving me my treatments and I feel very confident with her. The consultation was great and she walks me through each step of the process. I'm sure that when this procedure is complete I will be going back for additional treatments and other services.
