I had a brow threading appointment scheduled for 2 PM that I booked three weeks in advance at my last service. I'm also taking a trip tomorrow, which is why I made sure to book my appointment ahead of time. At 10:30 AM, I reached out to confirm that the brow lamination and tint were included with my appointment. They responded that the brow artist (the owner) who was scheduled to do my brow threading had to leave early for the day and asked me to come in at 12 PM or 1 PM instead. I explained that I would not be able to make either of those times because I had already planned my day around the 2 PM appointment, which I had booked weeks in advance. I ultimately rearranged my workday and moved several things around so I could make the appointment, especially since this was such a last-minute change on their end. I drove 30 minutes in the middle of the day to get there and arrived at approximately 1:20 PM. When I arrived, I was told that they couldn't see me because I wasn't able to make the 1 PM time and arrived at 1:20 PM instead. Before I even arrived, they had already told me over text that the only option would be to reschedule for Wednesday because they were closed on Tuesdays. I explained that this was not a realistic option because I'll be taking a trip tomorrow and that I should have been given more notice about the schedule change instead of being asked to rearrange my day at the last minute. Now, at 4 PM the day before my trip, I'm left scrambling to find a new place to get my brows done, which has added unnecessary stress to an already busy day. I have never had an issue with the quality of their work, which makes this experience even more disappointing. As a business owner, your number one priority should be taking care of your customers, especially long-term customers who have supported your business for years. Instead, the only response I received was essentially, "We changed your appointment, and it's your fault that you couldn't make it within the timeslot we provided 2 hours prior so we can't see you." It goes to show that as the business has grown, the level of care and consideration for long-term clients has gone down. I understand that things come up, but as a business owner, she should have been the one accommodating me or trying to figure out a solution rather than leaving me hanging after the changes were made on their side. After six years of being a customer, I expected much more consideration. Unfortunately, this experience was enough for me to decide that I will not be returning, giving this place my business, or recommending it to others.

Second Update: I did communicate this incident with Yelp and below is a screenshot of their response and recommendation. I typically find that businesses which only have 5 starts reviews are either truly dedicated professionals, which was not my experience with this business, or there is something going on behind the scenes, in their case calling a simple complaint a lie. There are many businesses which actually thrive on their strong customer service, which in my experience this business is not one of those. If Yelp is to survive as a reliable source for consumers, I think it's the responsibility of the consumers to share experiences, be it positive or negative. First UPDATE: since my last review they are now sending random people to attack me on Yelp (photo attached) just for a simple complaint. Be careful with this business! I will do my part and will contact Yelp to see what they can do to deal with such unprofessional conduct. But if they can't offer a solution I hope this would be your sign to stay away from this business. First Review: I decided to give this place another chance after cancelling last minute on me for an appointment, partly because I had completely forgotten about that experience and did not remember who this eyebrow person was. Guess what, she refused because I had complained about them being unresponsive and disrespectful of others time and left a review as such. She reminded me about the review and said she won't be able to provide services BECAUSE OF AN HONEST REVIEW. What a professional. I have never tried their services, but if you are someone who cares about your time and schedule apparently this place is not for you. I'm sure they deserve all 5 star reviews. But looks like something has changed with this business over the last 8 months-1 year. All good reviews seem to be pretty old. Seems like this is one of those businesses that only thrives by "Please give us a good review on Yelp". But guess what? At some point professionalism also matters, which you clearly lack. I don't usually leave multiple reviews, but I felt compelled to write another one for Brows by Sogol - especially after seeing the review posted by @Farzaneh S. today, which is simply not true. As a long-term client, I was actually there when the call she referenced took place, and the situation was nothing like what was described. Apparently, her previous appointment was canceled once and instead of doing her due diligence and following up to reschedule her appointment, she decided to bash the business - she then tried to schedule another appointment today hiding the fact that she had previously acted in such a manner and being dishonest. It's truly unfortunate when people choose to spread false information, because it can unfairly impact a business that genuinely cares about its clients. Sogol is the definition of professionalism and excellence. Her work is consistently amazing - precise, thoughtful, and always tailored to what you really need. She goes above and beyond every single time, whether it's taking extra time to perfect the shape, making sure you're comfortable, or remembering the little details that keep her clients coming back. What really sets her apart is the level of care they put into every interaction. You never feel rushed, you never feel like just another appointment, and you always leave feeling (and looking!) better than when you walked in. Her standards are high, and it shows. As someone who has trusted her for a long time, I can say with complete confidence that this is a business built on integrity, skill, and genuine kindness. Before Alia, almost all of my lashes fell out within 2 weeks, but she tried different things until she found what worked best for me and now they look amazing all the time and last longer than they ever have! I like them full and noticeable, but natural-looking at the same time. Alia gives me the perfect amount, somewhere between Classic & Hybrid and uses very thin lashes that look & feel like my own. She has experimented with mixing single lashes with fans on the ends to give me my perfect Cat Eye look. Her touch is so light, I often fall asleep in sessions. I've gotten lash extensions since 2018 with no irritation issues, then the skin around my eyes suddenly became allergic to the fumes from the lash glue causing itchiness & dry patches. Alia was happy to try different things until we found what helped. For me, it was doing extra rinses at the end of each session and using an extra under eye patch on my lid, as well, to protect and cover more skin. All irritation has completely stopped! Even my dermatologist was shocked and pleasantly surprised. I couldn't be happier with my lashes and am grateful I found Alia and highly recommended her. She's very flexible with appointment times and always very friendly and pleasant.
