I did feel judged for wearing a mask which wasn't cool, but whatever. Comments on my brows during my consultation also were a bit critical which seemed unnecessary. It was kind of everything else that made the whole experience a disaster. As I left my initial powder brows appointment, I scheduled a touch-up (included in service as long as it's within 8 weeks). When I arrived weeks later for my appointment, no one was there. As a matter of full disclosure, I was five minutes late. Yet I was surprised, because I've never been to a place where an employee would walk out the door if a client wasn't there exactly on time. I rang the bell and knocked on the door since it could reasonably be a security measure if someone was alone, but the place was dark and the door was locked. Thinking perhaps folks were running late, I sat on their patio to wait a few minutes. After maybe 10-ish minutes I called the salon number. Five to eight minutes elapsed with no response so I followed the instructions on the voicemail, which said to text for a faster response. I got a text from the owner saying that they were at an event and immediately after the text--whilst taking a screenshot of my confirmation text that I'd received two days prior--she called to say that they didn't have me on the schedule and asked if I had received a confirmation. I forwarded the confirmation and she said that the woman who was doing my brows had asked the day before if she had an appointment. She apologized, I rescheduled, but I'd planned the weekend of child's birthday party around this appointment and turned down plans because they conflicted so I was indeed pretty annoyed. Although it was outside the 8 week timeframe--my appointment was at the 8 week mark--they didn't charge me for going outside the initial touch-up timeframe (which would be expected but not always guaranteed). It would have been nice for them to tell the receptionist that though, since she stopped me as I was leaving thinking I hadn't paid. If I had to make the choice again, I wouldn't do the brows. All I can say is that your mileage may vary. It's undoubtedly a rare occurrence but the schedule thing and lack of communication makes me feel their reliability is suspect. And I'm not sure about going back for touch-ups if I need them in a few years.

AJ also convinced me to go darker with my application and color than my original plan, but it was the best decision thanks to AJ! During the tattooing phase, she ensured I was comfortable throughout the entire session. She was constantly checking in with my pain level and paused when I asked. She never hesitated to continuously apply numbing cream. What took this service to the next level was the fact that AJ took the time to walk me through each steps of the procedure and explain why she needed to do so. I think that comes from her experience and knowledge from her nursing days! She went as far as counting down how many "passes" she was doing so that I was aware and prepared for how long the needle was going to be on my skin. She even guided me into some deep breaths! Jazmin was so lovely and friendly, making me feel comfortable and listening to what I said I wanted done to my lashes. She had just gotten her own done and I loved how they looked and kind of also showed her a few pictures of what I was looking for to get this kind of layered, wispy look that I was going for. She answered all my questions from her sanitation method (new disposable tools are used) to how often she replaces her pigments (she runs out of them fairly quickly way before their expiration date). I had initially intended to have the hybrid (microblading and powder) service, but Joanna was truthful and upfront with me. She explained that due to my oily skin complexion I would not get the desired result from microblading as the strokes will be muddy and blurred once healed because of the excess oil my skin produces. I really appreciated her honesty. I'm also glad that Joanna took her time getting to the desired eyebrow shape and color that I wanted. Every decision from shape to color I was included in which made me feel that she truly listens. She also made sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process insuring that there was enough numbing cream where I didn't have to feel a thing other than what felt like a nice massage on my eyebrows. My first session was on May 30th where I'll share a before and after photo. My 2nd session was on July 16th and am currently in the healing process. I will update with the final results once healed. Having done this has made me more confident. My face looks more defined because I have eyebrows again. I had over tweezed them in my teens where I was left with no shape and sparse, thin eyebrow hair. I called back and voiced my concerns after both sessions and was told this can sometimes happen and was offered a free 3rd session with stronger pigment (not sure why this didn't happen after the first time) but I requested at least a partial refund instead. The first two times were painful, even with plenty of numbing cream, and I honestly had no reason to believe the 3rd time would work any better. I will say my Mom is enjoying her powder brows and they look great on her, but I can't recommend this place based on my experience. I would have hoped after dropping $750 + tip they would have worked with me more. I'm not requesting anything out-of-line when my lips looks pretty much the same.
