Just got my first tattoo from Jessica and it couldn't be more perfect. I'll let the pictures tell most of the story, but the attention to detail is unbelievable. It almost looks like the actual print was scanned and screen printed onto my arm. If you're thinking about getting some work done, I wouldn't hesitate to choose Jessica as your artist. Honestly, all of the artists there had some great examples in their sample books, and I went with Jessica based on some paw prints she had done and posted to social media, but you probably can't go wrong with anyone there. The studio itself was clean and the rooms were private (or at least mine was, as we were the only ones in there). I plan on doing some more in the future, and I already know exactly who I'm going with then. Thanks again Jessica!

Tom is very skilled, efficient, and knowledgeable about the craft of piercing! He made quick work of my second nostril piercing. He was super friendly. I'd highly recommend seeing him for any of your piercing needs! The shop was very clean and well organized. I would definitely visit again.

Great business, the owner definitely wanted to make things right. I received my deposit back and they offered to fix the tattoo free of charge, i declined that and asked to get a heart tattoo instead from Eddie, got a great discount on my heart tattoo. Will likely go back and get some more ink.

I had a great experience with Jessica at Golden Sparrow. The shop is welcoming, clean, and has a cool feel. Each artist has their own room which is really nice for privacy. Jessica helped me draw some additions to a current tattoo I already had and it's now perfect, just how I wanted it. She also gave me another fine line tattoo with some script. Both are beautiful. She has a super fine line, very detailed, and her touch is gentle. Highly recommend her and will be back to see her. read more

Tom Hill is by far the best piercer I've ever met. His professionalism is unmatched, and it's clear he truly cares about his clients. He always takes the time to give helpful advice and is extremely knowledgeable. I trust him completely and will only go to him for the rest of my life! I recently went in to have a back dermal removed that was already irritated and hurting. I told him I was a little nervous, and he talked me through everything while keeping me distracted. Honestly, this experience was completely PAIN FREE! 0/10 pain! No joke, my response afterward was, 'Oh, that wasn't even bad,' said with a full smile. When I got my nipples pierced, Tom Hill made it a very comfortable and safe environment. I thought it was going to hurt a lot, but it barely hurt and he walked me through everything. Maryna made getting my first tattoo a wonderful experience! Firstly, my sister, daughter, niece and myself all wanted to honor my late mother by getting various tattoos of her doodles. Requesting multiple examples ahead of time, Maryna went above and beyond to make sure the tattoos would be identical to my mom's art and handwriting (her line work is amazing). Secondly, she allowed all four of us to be present as each of us received our tattoos- making it a truly memorable family experience. I've been told even better than some people from that area! Jessica is a professional artist who does amazing work and easy to work with. I've been to Claire's as a child, and one other tattoo shop that I wasn't impressed with for all of my piercings. I had no idea what an APP certified piercer was until I looked into it, and now I want to scream from the roof tops the importance of going to a piercer with these credentials. It makes a world of a difference. I don't want to talk poorly about the last shop I was at since their proceeds go to charity, but compared to the steps taken and sanitation at UpRise, it's like night and day. UpRise is located in a strip mall, from the outside it looks pretty tiny but it's actually quite large inside. The first thing I noticed was how clean and bright everything was. I know most people think of tattoo shops as being dark and dingy, but this was the exact opposite. They have a beautiful selection of high quality jewelry in a display case up front for you to look at before and during your appointment time if you're undecided. I came in knowing what I wanted for the most part placement and jewelry-wise, but Rylie was still extremely patient and helpful during the process. They never tried to upsell or push certain pieces of jewelry on me, and Rylie offered great insight as to what would look the best for my curation. Sterilization is taken very seriously here which I appreciate-- the longest part of my appointment was probably waiting for my new jewelry to be sterilized but I'm not complaining. Rylie is extremely professional, but is extremely personable and sweet, we yapped the entire time we were together. I only added to my lobes this trip so the pain was minimum, but I'd trust Rylie with my entire being to do a more 'painful' piercing in the future. I walked out with 4 new lobe piercings my first trip, then 1 more 4 weeks after when I got my posts shortened, as well as all new jewelry for each piercing I have (including the old piercings). Everything was bought from UpRise except for the charms on the hoop earrings. I am extremely happy with the turnout, I will definitely be back to UpRise in the future! Naturally, a quick google search resulted in a ton of options but I was familiar with the Warrenville area and drive by Noodles Tattoo Studio almost daily. The reviews were great and reading the FAQ section, I learned they took walk-in's, which isn't all that common these days. After reading this, I gave Noodle's a quick call and they advised they were very booked but would immediately call if anything opened up. About 45 minutes later they called with availability and I couldn't be happier that they did because I will never go anywhere else to get my tattoos in the future. Upon entering, the shop I noticed it was extremely clean and had a very homey feeling with some amazing art on the wall. I was greeted by Noodle (the owner of course), who was extremely down to earth, friendly and willing to assist me with my idea and answer any questions I had, which was a lot because I hadn't gotten a tattoo in over 8 years. After about only 20 minutes, my idea was already on the tracer paper, looked great and I was ready to go. Overall, Noodle was extremely professional the entire time, asking if I was okay and making sure I was comfortable during the entire process. I couldn't be happier with how the tattoo turned out and everybody else working around him was very welcoming and I felt like I had been going there for years. The price of the tattoo was extremely cheap. Cheaper than I paid for my other tattoos, which were much smaller. I could not recommend this place enough. If you are looking to get new tattoos, make sure you go to Noodles Tattoo Studio. From now on, I will always be loyal to this place. Easily the best experience I have ever had getting a tattoo.

A family member had an appointment with the stylist Maureen. The front desk apparently booked the appointment incorrectly, and instead of handling the situation professionally, the stylist appeared frustrated. The service felt rushed, shortcuts were taken, and she was physically rough, pulling on my family member's hair and face in ways that made her uncomfortable. The end result was uneven and not what we expected, and my sister's hair was left noticeably botched. I contacted the manager, Dominic, who initially said he would help arrange a makeup appointment. Instead, he later told my family member he did not believe her concerns and informed her she would no longer be accepted as a client. Only a partial refund was offered for a service that cost nearly $300. UPDATE: the owner, Ron Rocco, called me. He said he was reaching out to help schedule a new appointment, but the call quickly shifted to him saying he did not want to do my family member's hair. Throughout the call, he repeatedly raised his voice and spoke over me, not allowing me to speak. As a younger woman speaking with an older male business owner, the interaction felt intimidating, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. During the call, he also mentioned that he had checked with the stylist to confirm whether my family member had tipped. She had tipped generously, and the comment felt completely unnecessary and out of place. He also stated that he is at the salon every day, which differs from what staff members had previously told us. He mentioned that he was "not threatend of a Yelp review," and I want to be clear: reviews are not threats. They are honest accounts of customer experiences. Everything in this review is truthful and based entirely on firsthand interactions. I also received a notice from Yelp that the business attempted to have my review removed. Key points: --I personally do not feel safe or comfortable returning to this salon. -I do not recommend booking with Maureen based on how she handled this situation. -In my experience, the business did not prioritize customer satisfaction or take accountability. -Management made me feel that customer concerns were dismissed rather than addressed. -The service felt overpriced for the rushed quality delivered. -Several interactions with the front desk staff felt unprofessional and unfriendly. -As a young woman, my interactions with both management and ownership felt uncomfortable and intimidating. -My sister's hair was left uneven and poorly done, which added to the frustration. -The salon seemed willing to tolerate the behaviors and issues we experienced rather than fixing them. -To quote Ron Rocco "Yelp reviews don't threaten me"! So I highly recommend you listen to the ones that are on here. -Because of the stylist's behavior, management's response, and my interaction with the owner, I cannot recommend this salon, especially to other young women or anyone who expects professionalism, respect, and consistency.

I saw Tesslyn to get a tattoo that was extremely important and personal to me, and I could not have asked for a better artist. Right away she puts you at ease. She walks you through the process, provides feedback on what will look best in the tattoo design, holds you while you sob because the needle hurts and is scary, and holds you while you sob because you're so embarrassed when you find out it was just the antisceptic spray and she hasn't even turned the needle on yet. My tattoo turned out amazing, better than I had even envisioned. I would post it, but apparently the human buttcheek is illegal here on yelp dot com. She collaborated on the design and redesign until she knew the final product was what I was looking for.
