Owner operator is named Dipila (certain I am spelling this wrong) and is Indian and super sweet. I moved here from the West Coast where threading is everywhere and I struggled to find a threader, for the options in Pittsburgh are very limited. Although I had to drive from downtown to Monroeville to get there, it was worth the drive. Dipila knows what she is doing and is the real deal when it comes to threading. Eyebrows were like $12 and this is inline with my expectations. I will go back. Threading lasts longer than waxing, but know that she does do waxing as well. read more

I enjoy getting my eyebrows done so this place is a really awesome place to go if you prefer to get threading as opposed to waxing. I'm not too excited about the interior it's kind of small and doesn't seem to well-kept but the woman who does my eyebrows is really nice and she talks to you the whole time you're getting it done so it's not just a quick in and out experience there's a little bit of an attachment there. I love how they play Indian music while you're waiting plus they have a whole bunch of magazines that you can look through so you're never really bored while you're sitting there. They do have other services besides eyebrow threading but I guess the threading is one of their more popular specialties. Plus you can get your legs waxed too. They have this curtain that they pullover for people who want more privacy. All in all I enjoy the socialness of the woman who works there and she does a really good job threading. She always makes sure that you're satisfied with the work and doesn't let you leave until she knows for a fact that your eyebrows are the way you want them to be. I did some yelp research before finding this place, and boy I am so glad I did. The owner welcomed me with a great big smile, asked how she could help me, and immediately sat me down. I explained to her hat I was seeing someone and my results were not up to par. She did a miraculous job on my eyebrows, explaining how she can tell the previous threader did a poor job.. and here's the best part, IT WAS ABSOLUTELY PAINLESS. I have been getting my eyebrows threaded for several years now, and I would dread every single time because of the pain. She then explained to me that threading should never hurt, and I was shocked! I also got my side burns waxed, and my upper lip. I was nervous because I had never gotten this done before. She was quick with the pull and it was painless! She informed me that it looked great, and it did! I have very sensitive skin and she told me the wax she used was very gentle and it sure was She put some cooling moisturizer on the places she waxed and I was on my way! Loved the experience!! I was so scared to try a threading for the first time, but all the reviews below eased my nerves. I am a sucker for pain & this is way better than waxing. When she started, I thought that there was more pain to come!! But nope, it really wasn't bad at all. I walked in on a Tuesday afternoon and Rhena(??) got the job done. It took all of 5 minutes for her to examine and thread them. She was very clear with me about the direction she was thinking of shaping them and was helpful when I asked some technical questions about the length of my brows. The place was dark and pretty empty inside, except for a few chairs and a mirror, but there wasn't a need for anything inside really, except a chair and her thread, I guess. Finding a spot in the Murrysville/Monroeville area is a small feat just because it is not yet a "thing" out here. It will be soon, though! The owner (I did not learn her name) is fantastic. She is upbeat and friendly and was very welcoming! This spot is cash or check only. I recommend giving threading a try next time you're thinking to get your brows waxed. In my opinion, threading allows for a more detailed and precise shape. With waxing they still have to pluck the brow hairs that are too close to your brow line. Threading solves that problem, and the best part is that it doesn't peel a layer of skin off! Great solution for people with sensitive skin who cannot tolerate waxing. Her location is some what inconvenient for me since I changed jobs so I now usually go to a friend who does threading, but today it was too far to go to Monroeville and I couldn't connect with my friend so I got them done at the Westmoreland Mall which is near my office and they were terrible there. Threading is quick and easy and doesn't involve harsh waxes-which cannot be used on certain skin types or on those that use topical treatments like retinoids.
