She's since become my go-to massage person, and I book out months in advance with her because, when someone is good, their book naturally fills up and April is good! As one of her regulars, they're even willing to give me a call if she has an unexpected cancellation; they did so today, in fact, and although I missed the call and someone else snapped up that appointment, they were able to get me in with someone else who sounds like they will meet my needs. Did I mention that the front desk staff here is also great? The location has a chill, upscale vibe befitting to the Uptown Mt. Lebo business district and is impeccably clean. I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I originally…read morescheduled a consultation, not a treatment. I had laser hair removal done at this place over two years ago with a different aesthetician at their other location, but I didn't feel like I saw the results I was hoping for. During my consultation, I explained that to the new aesthetician. Instead of performing a consultation with a small test spot, she offered to do a complimentary full treatment that day at no charge. Looking back, I don't think that was the appropriate approach. The purpose of a consultation and test spot is to see how your skin reacts before treating an entire area. If there is an adverse reaction, it is limited to one small area rather than your entire face. She also told me she was increasing the laser setting because the previous treatments had been done on a lower setting. In my opinion, increasing the setting significantly after such a long break without first doing a test spot was not appropriate. She then treated my entire face twice with the laser instead of just doing it one time. Within two days, my face became severely swollen, inflamed, and covered in painful bumps. The reaction became so severe that I had to go to the emergency room, where I was diagnosed with folliculitis and prescribed medication. I informed the aesthetician about what happened, I was told that some patients can experience reactions after laser treatments. While I understand that mild reactions can happen, I do not believe the severity of what I experienced is a normal outcome. This experience has caused me significant emotional distress as well as additional financial expenses from my emergency room visit and medications. I am trying to heal my skin at the moment, however I am now worried about the possibility of scarring and hyperpigmentation being left. I truly believe this situation could have been avoided if a proper consultation had been performed, including a test spot, rather than proceeding with a full-face treatment using increased laser settings after I had not received treatment for over two years. As well as not going over my face two times with the laser machine. I hope this review encourages the business to re-evaluate its consultation process and take extra precautions so that future clients do not have to go through a similar experience.

I telephoned the manager the following day and I explained that they should have notified me beforehand that the therapist had been ill and was exhibiting symptoms and I would have rescheduled. She said they do not notify but I could have left after the massage started and they would not have billed me. I got very sick 2 days later. I canceled my membership.
