Unlike large scale spa's, she took the time to get to know me and the issues I had been having with my headaches. She took the time to work on one area, which was my neck, first. The neck massage that I received was out of this world. Not only did Kris use cupping techniques, she used hot stones, and provided THE BEST massage that I have ever had. (I have to say, though, I think it's a bit silly that Massage Envy allowed anything to expire this year given the circumstances; there's no way my relative was the only one who avoided normal interactions this year due to their age and health concerns.) Following the above backstory, I received multiple massages throughout the summer. At the risk of sounding snobby, they weren't the best ones I've had, BUT that could admittedly be my fault. I benefit from massages that start with a lighter touch and get stronger as we go along. I thought I communicated this during my visits, but I never really got the deeper massage I really craved. Again, I'm not sure if the breakdown in communication was on my end or not. That said, the staff have always kept things running efficiently and on time, and the space itself is very relaxing. Some things have had to change due to COVID, of course; for example, enjoying a drink in the waiting room is a big no no right now. But even with a mask, I enjoyed my visits, and felt my health and safety were being taken seriously. Would I consider visiting Massage Envy again? Yes, at some point. I am extremely disappointed with my experience. I originally…read morescheduled a consultation, not a treatment. I had laser hair removal done at this place over two years ago with a different aesthetician at their other location, but I didn't feel like I saw the results I was hoping for. During my consultation, I explained that to the new aesthetician. Instead of performing a consultation with a small test spot, she offered to do a complimentary full treatment that day at no charge. Looking back, I don't think that was the appropriate approach. The purpose of a consultation and test spot is to see how your skin reacts before treating an entire area. If there is an adverse reaction, it is limited to one small area rather than your entire face. She also told me she was increasing the laser setting because the previous treatments had been done on a lower setting. In my opinion, increasing the setting significantly after such a long break without first doing a test spot was not appropriate. She then treated my entire face twice with the laser instead of just doing it one time. Within two days, my face became severely swollen, inflamed, and covered in painful bumps. The reaction became so severe that I had to go to the emergency room, where I was diagnosed with folliculitis and prescribed medication. I informed the aesthetician about what happened, I was told that some patients can experience reactions after laser treatments. While I understand that mild reactions can happen, I do not believe the severity of what I experienced is a normal outcome. This experience has caused me significant emotional distress as well as additional financial expenses from my emergency room visit and medications. I am trying to heal my skin at the moment, however I am now worried about the possibility of scarring and hyperpigmentation being left. I truly believe this situation could have been avoided if a proper consultation had been performed, including a test spot, rather than proceeding with a full-face treatment using increased laser settings after I had not received treatment for over two years. As well as not going over my face two times with the laser machine. I hope this review encourages the business to re-evaluate its consultation process and take extra precautions so that future clients do not have to go through a similar experience.

She used so much Botox that my forehead completely changed shape, and I had a scow. My face looked angry, and so was I. I swore I would never get Botox again based off of my first experience, then realized that it was just this place that did a horrible job. Upon arrival back home, I closely reviewed the cut and saw that it was clearly uneven in several different areas. I pulled out my own scissors and decided that I would attempt to "fix" it. That was not working at all so I knew that I would have to book another appt somewhere else. I spent an hour the next day reviewing "reviews" of local stylists at other salons...and...by the grace of God, found an incredible stylist. BTW, the new stylist was stunned at the ineptitude of the cut that I had received the day before, noticing also that the underneath layer of my hair was actually shorter than the top layer? This story has a happy ending because I found a fantastic stylist who is actually kind and super sweet. And she also took the time to carefully listen to my hairstyle request and gave me the best haircut of my life! Yay!
