After leaving the city for a job in CT, going all the way to NYC for a lash lift became more of hassle, but i continued to go as it was far more affordable than anything in Westchester. I drove past Manuela's studio one day and thought to give it a try, and I'm so glad I did. My first visit, I received a very warm welcome to a very clean and inviting space. Lina sat me right down in a comfortable recliner and took a look at my lashes. She noticed and informed me that my lashes were incredibly dehydrated - as a result of the product my previous lash tech had used - and let me know they would need some rehabilitating. Lina is so well-versed in her craft, she explained to me how certain products aren't good for everyone and that my lashes happened to be very sensitive to that. So she used a different product, and let me know it would take longer than what i'm used to but that i would notice a difference when my lashes were growing out, and i most definitely did. Previously, with my NYC lash tech, my lashes would grow in in all crazy directions, they were starting to get sparse (and i have naturally long and voluminous lashes thanks to nightly castor oil application). In the growing out phase after my visit to Manuela's, my lashes were noticeably more hydrated, and were not growing in all crazy directions, not to mention, the lash lift seemed to last significantly longer. Manuela and Lina are super affable, making the time go by quick. They are dedicated to making sure you are comfortable and well taken care of. The parking is a slight hassle as it is metered parking, but there is a free lot at the church across the street you can park in. If you're like me and didn't put enough time in the meter, they've gone out of their way to put money in the meter on my behalf. Many of the reviews recount horror stories of missing their appointments due to being marginally late so I literally arrived 20 min early to avoid that issue. I wanted to go to CVS but I wasn't about to take any chances. I walked into the place at a socially acceptable five minutes early and the lady at the desk wasn't nearly as scary as others have suggested in prior reviews. I would actually go as far as to say she was a standard amount of friendly. I was pleased to be taken early with essentially no waiting. The girl who did my waxing was very nice as well and chatted me up during the whole thing which helped the time pass. In contrast to my previous wax place, they use this purple hard wax which I rather like. It went very quickly and was minimally painful. The only reason for the four stars is because I did notice some patches that were missed later on but, full disclosure, she gave me an opportunity to evaluate her work before leaving and I trusted everything was good enough. When I arrived, I was told my appointment had never actually been changed and was still listed for an earlier time. Instead of trying to fix the situation, I was simply told they couldn't take me. There was no real attempt to accommodate me, squeeze me in, offer a coupon, or make up for the inconvenience. I was offered another appointment on a different day even after explaining that I was leaving for vacation shortly and today was my only opportunity. This location is not close to my house, so I wasted my time and gas driving there for nothing. What made it even more frustrating was the lack of empathy. I left feeling like my time didn't matter. Unfortunately, this isn't even my first scheduling issue with this location, and I've had friends experience scheduling problems there as well. At this point, the service feels inconsistent and unprofessional. Ironically, I ended up finding a local waxing boutique that fit me in the same day, was much closer to home, and charged less than EWC. That made me realize there's no reason for me to keep driving out of my way and paying more when there are businesses that provide better customer service. I won't be returning to this location, and I wouldn't recommend it based on my experience.

Run! This place is the complete opposite of the location in New Canaan. The staff is rushed and…read morerude. After arriving for an appointment, the salon was nearly empty, two technicians very abruptly said "take color now". They hovered while me and my little one took a couple of minutes deciding which colors we wanted in what was the quickest decision ever made by someone under eight at lunchtime. With the same frustration and hurrying, one technician directed my little one to go off with them where we could not see each other. Both women were clearly annoyed when my daughter ducked behind me while I need time to pick a color audibly huffing and curt. In hindsight, this is was the point I should have turned and left, But then I would not be warning you about this place. When we sat at the table, the person working on my child said to me, "she won't let me cut". Yes, the six year old spoke up and didn't want her nails clipped. Filing little nails is complete reasonable and a decision which makes perfect if it makes the customer comfortable. Best part of a manicure is getting her nails filed. Add to the fact, clipping was not needed. This woman was very surprised a child had the ability to speak up for herself. The person working on me proceeded to "clip a hangnail" and cut off a large amount of skin from on two fingers. It took weeks for the pain to go away. When I pulled my hand back from the pain, she cleared huffed again after hurting me and making the side of my finger it was cut so low. This was the end of the worst manicure ever. Run from this place!
