I wake up looking put together every morning now thanks to Christen! I have 3 kids, 2 dogs and run a small home business so putting on makeup before seeing Christen was eyeliner and brow filler at red lights! Needless to say, it always looked crooked and sloppy. I never wanted my eyebrows tattooed because the ones I've seen on people end up looking blue and weird. But I started looking into micro blading after I had my 3rd child and I just felt and looked...bedraggled (see before pic ). I literally researched and obsessed over who to see and if I should even do it. Then along comes my amazing local mom's group who recommend over half a dozen artists in LA for microblading. I tried to do this without considering the cost even though we're on a super tight budget because I wanted to find the best person for the look I was going for and save up. You see, I had my eyeliner done by a makeup artist in Chicago who had "experience" with microblading. Long story short she tattooed below the lash line so the numbing agent didn't take and I felt EVERY STROKE. One side was partially done and the other side barely showed any liner. It took hours and hours and it hurt like crazy. I should mention that I have a dozen regular tattoos and am accustomed to tattoo pain... I finally settled on Christen at Brow Tendre and it was the best thing I ever did. The process was painless and she has the most amazing, gentle touch. I fell asleep twice during the brows and we talked like old friends unless it was time for me to shut my trap and get purdy! She knew my history with skin numbing issues and was patient, gentle and kind throughout the whole thing. I loved my brows so I went back for eyeliner too. I first saw Christen in 2018 and just this Friday I got my touch up. Both occasion that I have seen her were extremely pleasant. In fact I feel like my second visit was even better than the last. She is constantly evolving in her work ethic. Glendale is a beautiful but busy city so it made me nervous that parking would be hard to find the first time I had gone but where here office is located they have a parking lot. It is also conveniently located across from a Starbucks and lots of fun food joints. Upon arrival I had text Christen that I would be heading to Starbucks and was afraid I'd be running a few minutes. I did text her to let her know but she mentioned she had not seen it because she was with a client and had not seen it. Which I totally understand. She did not look at her phone once while she was with me during my appointment. Her attention was completely on me the entire time. It was great because I've had plenty of people doing services on me and were always distracted by their phone.. I understand that all eyebrows are different and some people may need a little more time but mine was a touch up and the appointment was quick and easy. I do not enjoy providing negative reviews, but I feel I've been left with no choice. A close friend of mine had her eyebrows micro bladed elsewhere and she was unhappy with the results. I undoubtedly referred her to Christen, knowing she'd do an amazing job. Unfortunately, the results were not what my friend had expected and nor as I would have expected. My friend was too embarrassed to mention her unhappiness to me as I was the one that referred her. The color is extremely faint and you can barely see the outline and strokes. It's as if her eyebrows were not micro bladed at all. I have tried reaching out to Christen since November to rectify my friend's dissatisfaction. Initially she replied back, but as soon as I notified her of my friend's concerns and request to rectify, she has stopped communicating with me. So, I have had to follow up with my Ophthalmologist, as well as an specialty Surgeon regarding the blockage of my Meibomian gland dysfunction known as Meibomianitis. This is due to the oil glands in my eyelids blocked due to excessive passes done by Christen resulting in the trauma and extended recovery from the Permanent Eyeliner tattoo by none other than Christen the owner at Browtendre. Instead of inquiring or general concern for her clients Christen gives zero consideration for her clients. So this was my first time and I made an appointment today at 12 PM I text the person that I was on my way and I was in front of her door at 12 PM waiting for a text back never heard anything then I text her back to let her know that I left then she text me saying that she was with a client and she had her gloves on which I understand but then I told her that I had appointments today so I was unable to make it because usually when you make an appointment at 12 you're seen at 12, I requested a day off to see this person so I asked if I could reschedule and she said that I was unable to reschedule so meaning I am an able to see her at all extremely unprofessional and a waste of my time this is not the way to treat customers especially when you're asking for $600 without even seeing the person first and having a consultation.Besides the moment I drove into the parking lot it was extremely ghetto so I was already feeling uneasy with it.
