Super cool vibes in this BRU Burger in what used to be a Greyhound Station. The space is huge -- two stories of indoor seating and a large patio with outdoor seating. Huge menu with tons of options! It was so hard to pick a burger because the options all sounded so delicious. Everything is cooked to order, and all the burgers can be ordered in the Burger Snack size as well. Our server was super helpful and welcoming while explaining the menu. I especially loved the onion rings! And their house made ketchup is really unique and tasty.

BRU Burger is a decent experience in Bloomington. The vibe of the place is definitely worth going for. It gives the atmosphere of a large bar/restaurant but still contains the delicacies of a small, cozy restaurant. The main reason for the 3 stars is the food. While I liked the chicken sandwich overall, it was noticeably dry compared to others that I've had. Dipping it in ranch did not solve the dryness, as it was still contained within the chicken. Our service was good and quite fast as well, especially since we were a party of 8.

The restaurant itself was very nice. Cool vibes, and magic was at a great volume. Not too much seating but want too busy the Saturday night we went. Burger was great! Bun could've been better but not bad. Mine we cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the toppings worked Server could've been a tad more attentive but wasn't to the point where we got restless

With the power out due to a storm, it seemed a good night to try BRU Burger, mostly because it's been on our list to try plus they had electricity, which was a big plus. I'd heard that there hadn't been big crowds since their opening, but it was very crowded when we were there. Likely the power outages were good for BRU Business! The restaurant is very nice inside, and had a large enclosed patio which is where we were seated. Full bar in the front, and honestly the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a restaurant! Parking is of course a challenge because it's downtown just off 4th street, but not insurmountable. Our server(s) were very nice - one main server and a trainee on her first night. Two of us had milkshakes (chocolate for me, strawberry for my son) and we had the onion ring appetizer. The O-rings were my favorite part of the meal. Chocolate shake was a close second. Wife ordered a basic burger and upgraded to the chili cheese fries. That is a $7 upgrade by the way compared to the $2.50 fries, but she said they were definitely worth it. Son had the double bacon burger and fries. I had the bourbon burger and fries. We all liked our burgers, but didn't love our burgers. The fries were good, and wife loved her CCF's. My bourbon burger was just 'meh' and I didn't feel any kind of way about it honesty. The 'bourbon glaze' barely added to the burger and didn't have much taste. This is ironic because my #1 worry was that I'd hate the glaze because I'm weird about condiments. But instead it was basically just a messy sauce without flavor to me. Wife and son were both seemingly the same - burger was fine, but didn't seem special. Dinner for three with tip came in at a little over $100. Admittedly with an app, two shakes, but no booze. All in all, it was fine. If I was out to enjoy the bar and having drinks with friends, the bar is nice and would add an element to the meal. But if I'm just out for dinner of specialty burgers and fries etc. I'd choose Bub's every time. Neither are cheap, but the Bub's food is simply better. Man do I miss Opie Taylor's!

New, clean, welcoming, and tasty! Full bar featuring cocktails and craft beer. Great service all around. I recommend the Provencial Burger with Fries. Ask for the Black Bean Aoli for the fries to dip, so good! Gorgonzola salad is also fantastic.

This place was great! Service was so nice and the food came out amazing. We got 3 dishes for three people and couldn't even finish the fries. The serving size is great. Price point is slightly high but still worth it cause quality is unbeatable. One of my fav places in Bloomington now. 8/10

I was more than excited to hear that Bloomington was getting a Bru Burger ! We stopped in last night, the third day they've been open. But you couldn't tell, aside from the "new car" smell ! They were operating as if they'd been here for years. The place was absolutely clean and the bar seemed fully stocked. The waitstaff were friendly and super helpful. We got our food pretty quickly. I ordered the Stilton bleu cheese burger with fries. It was phenomenal ! The burger was seasoned especially well. My partner wanted to try their standard burger and put it among the top 3 in town. Would definitely frequent.

When I heard Bru Burger was making their way to Bloomington, I knew I had to check them out. Walking in you can smell the new construction/building - everything looks brand new! The service was incredible, everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there. We made a reservation and were seated and serviced quickly. Our waitress was super kind and helpful. They are known for their award winning burgers using locally sourced meats and vegetables. We ordered the Chili Cheese Fries and the Spicy Pomegranate Margarita to start. They have a full bar including beers on draft (some local), wine and cocktails. The fries were delicious and margarita tasty & not too spicy. I opted for one of my favorites the Mexicali Burger and it did NOT disappoint. They utilize a signature grind of Sirloin, Chuck and Brisket and the medium was perfection. Another favorite (I didn't get this time) if you aren't feeling a burger - the Valencia Salad is FIRE add+ blackened shrimp. Parking could be a pain point - as with most resturants on/near Kirkwood. Make sure you plan ahead to find time for parking. Definitely hit them up for lunch or dinner ASAP. I'm excited for the weather to warm back up and check out their patio especially once the construction is finished across the street. I would LOVE to see more Cunningham Restaurants make their way to Bloomington!

Great cod, the Bru Burger was tasty and good service. Also tasted the chicken, crunchy yet moist.

They were a bit busy but it didn't seem like a huge crowd today. We sat outside again. I knew what I wanted immediately, and placed our order as soon as our waitress came over to greet us. A cheeseburger for the kid, and a pulled pork sandwich for me. I've never had theirs before. And I never will again. And fries. We got fries. The wait was insane. At least a half hour for very simple dishes. The kid got a tiny burger. Beef and bun. No cheese, no ketchup. I had to ask for cheese. Yes. They messed up a cheese burger. Then there was my pulled pork. It was literally inedible. I've since come to learn that it was not reheated properly, so the goo that covered every bit of meat was fat. It was served cold, for some reason, and the way it was presented on the menu, listed under a picture of some yummy browned wings led me to believe it would be a very different - and HOT- sandwich. The server did offer to take it back, but at that point the meal was ruined for me and I didn't trust them to make anything else, or make it quickly. I made it clear I was very unhappy about such a disgusting sandwich. She took all of 10% off my bill. Better than nothing, but a lot less than I was expecting. if this is how they're doing things now, I'm done with this place. Badly overseasoned fries... cold pulled pork... cheeseburger with no cheese... I mean, come on... and based on what little I caught from people at another table, getting food out seemed to be an issue for them. I'm not sure if any other places nearby that aren't just bars serve decent food, but if they do, you can definitely give this place a hard pass. Yuck.

Delicious food. Cheap drinks. Great service. Ask for Piper. She is really quick and cool.read more

It was an interesting addition to the sandwich because it made the sandwich a little more sour. I added a little hot honey to help counter some of the sourness. The Hive bun was very fresh. It had great texture- crunchy edges but spongy middle. The burgers looked good but appeared very small. I was a little surprised by the portion size considering the cost. It was very expensive for such a small burger that did not come with sides & drink. I liked the big plastic cups for water. It had a bunch of advertisements on the cup, but thought it was great sizewise for water. Usually we get a small plastic flimsy cup for water at other restaurants, so it was a nice surprise. The staff was friendly and served our order relatively quickly. Patrons came in waves. The outside is deceiving because the sign isn't flashy and looks relatively small. But, once you walk in, it appears a lot more spacious than from the outside. Plenty of seating for big/small groups.

Plenty of vegan and gluten free options! I've tried the vegan banh mi, vegan reuben, vegan brown sugar cookie, blondie, and Italian soda in lavender and vanilla. The marinated tofu used on both the banh mi sandwich and reuben is delicious. Lots of veggies on both of the sandwiches. The banh mi wasn't traditional - the mint and cilantro were more like a pesto instead of whole fresh herbs and the marinated tofu is a little different - but I really liked their take on it. Both desserts were really good, but in particular the gooey blondie with the flaked salt topping. I'm also grateful for the option to add cream to the Italian soda here - I love Italian cream soda but this is the first place I've been in a while that makes it. The atmosphere is very casual as you can place your order and pay at the counter and then seat yourself, but it's still nice and comfortable, and kept clean.
