Limited time Southern double smashed burger with onion rings and homemade ketchup.

In town for a few weeks on travel and this place is amazing! Food, service and ambiance is all great! Burgers tried by both my wife and I were the black and blue, the BRU burger, the bourbon burger and the limited time only southern burger. All these burgers were ordered as double smashed burgers and all of them were amazing!! We also ordered the onion rings and fries which were delicious with their homemade ketchup! Wait staff are tentative and friendly along with the manager, Sarah. We will be visiting again before we leave town! BRU Burger is a must try if in town or passing through!

Jalapeño pimento burger and onion rings.

The jalapeño pimento burger was delicious! The onion rings were a little too Crunchy but we're still good. Service was excellent. Parking was tricky. Very nice atmosphere. Fast friendly service.

Super cool vibes in this BRU Burger in what used to be a Greyhound Station. The space is huge -- two stories of indoor seating and a large patio with outdoor seating. Huge menu with tons of options! It was so hard to pick a burger because the options all sounded so delicious. Everything is cooked to order, and all the burgers can be ordered in the Burger Snack size as well. Our server was super helpful and welcoming while explaining the menu. I especially loved the onion rings! And their house made ketchup is really unique and tasty.

BRU Burger is a decent experience in Bloomington. The vibe of the place is definitely worth going for. It gives the atmosphere of a large bar/restaurant but still contains the delicacies of a small, cozy restaurant. The main reason for the 3 stars is the food. While I liked the chicken sandwich overall, it was noticeably dry compared to others that I've had. Dipping it in ranch did not solve the dryness, as it was still contained within the chicken. Our service was good and quite fast as well, especially since we were a party of 8.

With the power out due to a storm, it seemed a good night to try BRU Burger, mostly because it's been on our list to try plus they had electricity, which was a big plus. I'd heard that there hadn't been big crowds since their opening, but it was very crowded when we were there. Likely the power outages were good for BRU Business! The restaurant is very nice inside, and had a large enclosed patio which is where we were seated. Full bar in the front, and honestly the nicest bathrooms I've ever seen in a restaurant! Parking is of course a challenge because it's downtown just off 4th street, but not insurmountable. Our server(s) were very nice - one main server and a trainee on her first night. Two of us had milkshakes (chocolate for me, strawberry for my son) and we had the onion ring appetizer. The O-rings were my favorite part of the meal. Chocolate shake was a close second. Wife ordered a basic burger and upgraded to the chili cheese fries. That is a $7 upgrade by the way compared to the $2.50 fries, but she said they were definitely worth it. Son had the double bacon burger and fries. I had the bourbon burger and fries. We all liked our burgers, but didn't love our burgers. The fries were good, and wife loved her CCF's. My bourbon burger was just 'meh' and I didn't feel any kind of way about it honesty. The 'bourbon glaze' barely added to the burger and didn't have much taste. This is ironic because my #1 worry was that I'd hate the glaze because I'm weird about condiments. But instead it was basically just a messy sauce without flavor to me. Wife and son were both seemingly the same - burger was fine, but didn't seem special. Dinner for three with tip came in at a little over $100. Admittedly with an app, two shakes, but no booze. All in all, it was fine. If I was out to enjoy the bar and having drinks with friends, the bar is nice and would add an element to the meal. But if I'm just out for dinner of specialty burgers and fries etc. I'd choose Bub's every time. Neither are cheap, but the Bub's food is simply better. Man do I miss Opie Taylor's!

The restaurant itself was very nice. Cool vibes, and magic was at a great volume. Not too much seating but want too busy the Saturday night we went. Burger was great! Bun could've been better but not bad. Mine we cooked to a perfect medium rare, and the toppings worked Server could've been a tad more attentive but wasn't to the point where we got restless

New, clean, welcoming, and tasty! Full bar featuring cocktails and craft beer. Great service all around. I recommend the Provencial Burger with Fries. Ask for the Black Bean Aoli for the fries to dip, so good! Gorgonzola salad is also fantastic.

This place was great! Service was so nice and the food came out amazing. We got 3 dishes for three people and couldn't even finish the fries. The serving size is great. Price point is slightly high but still worth it cause quality is unbeatable. One of my fav places in Bloomington now. 8/10

They were a bit busy but it didn't seem like a huge crowd today. We sat outside again. I knew what I wanted immediately, and placed our order as soon as our waitress came over to greet us. A cheeseburger for the kid, and a pulled pork sandwich for me. I've never had theirs before. And I never will again. And fries. We got fries. The wait was insane. At least a half hour for very simple dishes. The kid got a tiny burger. Beef and bun. No cheese, no ketchup. I had to ask for cheese. Yes. They messed up a cheese burger. Then there was my pulled pork. It was literally inedible. I've since come to learn that it was not reheated properly, so the goo that covered every bit of meat was fat. It was served cold, for some reason, and the way it was presented on the menu, listed under a picture of some yummy browned wings led me to believe it would be a very different - and HOT- sandwich. The server did offer to take it back, but at that point the meal was ruined for me and I didn't trust them to make anything else, or make it quickly. I made it clear I was very unhappy about such a disgusting sandwich. She took all of 10% off my bill. Better than nothing, but a lot less than I was expecting. if this is how they're doing things now, I'm done with this place. Badly overseasoned fries... cold pulled pork... cheeseburger with no cheese... I mean, come on... and based on what little I caught from people at another table, getting food out seemed to be an issue for them. I'm not sure if any other places nearby that aren't just bars serve decent food, but if they do, you can definitely give this place a hard pass. Yuck.

I wasn't particularly hungry that day and, as a first-timer at Fat Dan's, I expected a small snack. Nope--what I got was a huge portion, but thankfully, it was delicious. The restaurant was packed since IU had just hosted a football game, so it was loud, and seating was limited and service was lacking. Still, it was a tasty experience overall!

So here's how the tap came out: It was a busy Saturday night. Easy to grab a high top, but being over 30 - it's not fun sitting on a bar stool. That's fine. The service - like I said, they were busy. But one of my friends never even got his drink, and he ended up telling the waitress to cancel it because we were already eating our fries. The fries - - 4 dipping sauces equals 5 stars! Love the ability to try different flavors and find your fav. My fav is the pesto aioli because its unique! I give the seasoning 4 stars, and it was a little heavy handed, and kind of overpowered the sauces. Texture was good, some were a lil soggy, overall they were good! I've had the other food at the tap, and always enjoyed myself. Definitely worth a visit - but be prepared if they're super slammed!

Their beer menu (which was fully printed and…read moreavailable at our table - no scanning a QR code or squinting to read a board at the bar) had a whole page of beers by The Tap Brewery, followed by two pages of guest craft beer representing every major type of beer and with some unique options, all on tap. For drinks, cocktails (and a few mocktails) and a smaller selection of wine are also available. I wanted to get beer but I was kind of tempted by the cocktails. My first choice was a flight that included a mix of The Tap beers and guest beers, but the waiter came back after taking the order and told me that they could only do flights with their beers but could let me sample the beers I wanted to try, so I did that, and the samples were probably around 2 oz each so I basically got half a flight. After that, I ended up ordering a real flight of their beer. The Tap beers I tried were: Kill the Lights stout (regular and barrel-aged), Tapenator dark lager, Frost Bite winter ale, Nefarious Nectar blonde. Guest beers: Jacob Leinenkugel white mocha stout, Weihanstephaner Hefeweissbier, BrewDog Winter Staycation. Not going to waste space reviewing all of these, but they were all fantastic. I was really grateful that they let me sample so many! And they also have food. The menu isn't huge but does have some variety, and it's not just basic pub food. I had the ahi tuna crunch bowl and it was pretty good! It kind of had the vibe of stuff thrown together in a poke bowl, but it worked and I thought the fish was done really well. Our waiter was wonderful! He was really friendly and just the right amount of attentive. My friend and I stayed for a while talking after we had paid and he didn't rush us out at all. Granted, it was a pretty quiet night. We both really liked the vibe of the place. I would love to be back soon!
