The burger had good flavor, but the patty seemed much smaller than the advertised 7 ounces. The brioche bun was huge in comparison, which made the burger feel a little unbalanced. The peach-bacon jam and pickled green tomato worked surprisingly well together, but I could barely taste the house-made pimento cheese. Went for burger week and got their special to go. Not only was it delicious but a great deal considering it came with fries. The pickled green tomato was a perfect topping to cut through the heaviness of the bacon jam and pimento cheese. The burger itself was decent size also and wasn't too overpowered by the toppings. The ketchup that came with the fries was one of my favorites and almost tasted like a mix of ketchup and fresh salsa. Pickup was super quick and easy! My husband and I were on vacation in Lexington and chose Bro Burgers for a casual dinner because it was close to our hotel and had outdoor dining with nice patio type of setting. Our service was first rate. Jackson, our server, was friendly, knowledgeable, and appropriately attentive. He answered our questions and helped us make good dinner choices. Because he seemed like such a well seasoned pro, I was surprised to learn he had only been at the restaurant for 2 months. He knew the menu well and zeroed in on our taste preferences. Kudos also to the management team for their staff selection and excellent training. The manager on duty was also visibly present and briefly visited the tables to be sure the needs of guests were being met. Service could not have been better. For dinner, my husband chose the featured Bru Margarita, a Mexicali Burger, and Onion Rings. Overall, the burger was very good and properly done to a requested temp of medium rare. But, he wished it had had a little more sear on it for extra flavor. But, the onion rings were the star of his plate. Their huge size (Who knew onions could be that large?) and towering presentation created an impressive looking plate. But, in addition to their showy looks, they were also crispy with a well flavored batter. He also enjoyed the special twist on his margarita cocktail. I had the snack burger and the smaller sized Gorgonberry Pecan Salad. The snack burger was a little disappointing. It could have been improved with more sear and a smaller bun. However, the salad was excellent with perfectly portioned ingredients and an excellent dressing tying them all together. I plan to have it again before returning home. Lastly, I disagree with comments some have made about the menu prices. Bro Burgers prices are higher than the budget chain burgers because Bro Burgers are cooked to order--to requested temp, with larger patties, better quality beef, and with additional tasty add ons. Their burgers have personality. Sides are à la carte which means you only pay for what you actually want, but do check out the onion rings and other options. When compared to other similar better burger restaurants, Bro Burgers gives diners a fairly priced menu for well prepared food served by excellent staff. Also, when you visit, ask if Jackson is available to serve you. Most likely, he will add to your evening enjoyment. read more

My book club met here this past week & we had a nice dinner! Our waitress was so sweet and checked in on us often. Bru Burgers menu is true to its name- lots of burgers! I asked our waitress what she'd recommend between the veggie burger and the grilled portobello sandwich on sourdough and she said definitely the portobello so I went with that! It was okay- definitely a large sandwich, could be split by 2 people. The one thing that got me was that burgers and sandwiches don't come with a side- they have to be ordered separately. I can see an up charge for a special side, but in my opinion a sandwich should come with fries at least! read more

On my first full day in Lexington I was starving after training and Bru was right next to the hotel and smelled amazing plus I got a recommendation from the hotel clerk. Incredibly friendly staff, greeted by multiple people, checked on by multiple people, burger was great cooked perfectly with just a little pink, but I found it a little odd that smash burger had all the veggies... it's usually just like onions and sauce or is that just me? There were very few patrons when I arrived and I was immediately met with a sweet hostess. However, I was seated at a table crawling with ants. I had to ask someone to move me to another table. Come to find out at my request to speak to a manager, she was the manager on duty. She did not indicate she was management and made no excuses or apologies for the ants. The food was fairly good. I've been several times, but never gave a review. I will say this has been a go-to local spot for a good burger. I love the amount of pattie meat & the hamburger bun. But most of all, I LOVE the variety if toppings. My faves are the Stilton Bleu Cheese and the Black & Bleu Bison. I've also enjoyed their Triple Dip and Bru Board. I've never been to even a decent burger restaurant where the overpriced burgers didn't even come with fries. It gave price grab vibes and started the whole experience off in a negative light. But I tried to not let it affect the food. The waitress was extremely nice, but she was the only person really working. I watched the bar staff clean the same glass for 30 minutes while they just watched tv during dinner rush. Lots of management just standing around and then vaguely asking how our food was. I overheard the couple behind us complain about a cook on one of their burgers and the manager basically didn't even hear them or offer to make the mistake right. Not surprisingly, I then overheard someone in that family say they would never be back. My food was just ok, which means I won't be back either. Good luck. I've been coming here for years and it's still one of my favorite restaurants in Lexington. I adore the black bean patty. And, as a vegetarian, I love that I can sub that patty for any burger on the menu. The variety is something I'm not used to, but I definitely appreciate! The staff is great every time I go. The restaurant feels like a great place to hang out with friends, but it's also somewhere I don't mind going when I'm by myself. Best Burgers in Lexington Kentucky!!! This place has a brew pub feel but is also super open and friendly to group or families. We came here with family that lives here so you know it's a favorite! For the burger lover this is the place! I suggest browsing the menu to get an idea of how many options you have , but the menu can't tell you how good they are. Oh and the fries... killer! One beef only. The house ketchup is terrible more of a watery barbecue sauce, just ask for regular ketchup! The onion rings are beautiful and there is ranch if you ask for it! Haven't been here in awhile but stopped in and so glad we did! The bartenders were excellent. We ordered naked wings with all three sauces on the side. I loved the Gorgonzola salad in the side! Sat on the patio on a beautiful summer evening. Our server was in training, so we had a tag-team that took good care of us. We ordered our drinks and looked over the menu. A nice array of options, with lamb, Turkey, bison, salmon, hamburgers, and more. Creative toppings for many of the sandwiches. I got the Lamb Burger and my wife opted for the Turkey Burger. She did get the curry Mayo on the side. She was OK with it, but I really enjoyed it! Both our sandwiches came with the oat bun, which is a slightly healthier option and quite tasty. Drinks were good and came out quickly. Mixed drinks are priced on the higher side of normal, and beer is reasonable. Fries were hot and crispy and the fruit cup was a good variety. The service was friendly and efficient - our server was helpful in sharing her personal favorite as well as customer favorites which helped me narrow down what I wanted! I ended up getting the BRU burger and my fiancé got the Double Bacon. Both were tasty and flavorful. The fries were okay but seemed a bit over fried and like half of them were made fresh and mixed with an older batch. For lunch we ordered the ahi sandwich, bread pudding and kids Mac and cheese with fries. Service was a little slow, especially since there wasn't many people dining inside. Everything tasted great! I really loved the bread pudding as that was my whole lunch. It was massive and I could have shared, but I wanted dessert and I wanted it all. All the flavors were amazing together. I ALWAYS love finding a burger place that has gluten free options and I am so happy that I can say THIS is it. They have a gluten free menu which is a bonus! But their gluten free buns were delicious and they cook their fries in a separate fryer which is amazing for a celiac to hear I got a delicious burger and fries and my husband also enjoyed his non gluten free burger and fries too. Delicious food and good service. I was in Lexington for not fun stuff (paying for my car repair and picking up my car following an unfortunate catastrophic engine failure). We had some time to kill before it was even close to the time when the car was supposed to be ready to pick up, and we needed some food to shove in to our gullets. It was the middle of the afternoon on a work day, so it wasn't busy and we were seated immediately. We sat at a booth in the bar area, in order to accommodate the bartender also being the server on duty (or that was the impression). He was great! My sister and I agreed to share an order of fries, as sides are an add-on and not included with a burger main. They were well-seasoned and very tasty. For my burger, I got the Provencal because ya gurl loves mushrooms and goat cheese! It was spectacularly delicious! I didn't leave a single crumb on my plate. My sister was also incredibly pleased with her Garlic-Three Cheese burger. It was all so good...I kind of wish there was one closer to my home, even though I tend to avoid chains!
