I haven't been here for awhile so my friend and I decided to go for lunch. I haven't been disappointed with their food and this visit was no different. We were greeted by the friendly cashier that took our order right away as there was no line. I got the orange marmalade chicken sandwich and my friend got the cheeseburger and fries. They gave us a number sign and we picked our table and quickly our food was delivered to us by another friendly employee. The food came out hot and fresh and tasty! The fries are really good as well! I love this place and what they stand for. My brother in law is a recovering alcoholic and substance abuser. He's been clean and sober for over 20 years and is an RN . I love DV8's food but even more so their mission to help those who need a second chance find employment. They have the best chicken marmalade sandwich out there and pretty much anything they make is good. They bake all of their bread in house and you can taste the difference with how fresh it is. I've never seen a cleaner restaurant. I ordered one of the salads with the sweet cider dressing - LOVED! We also tried out one of the cinnamon rolls. Breakfast menu looks great. My husband had the hamburger with the egg. They use 100% black Angus ground beef. The patty was thicker than most places. My husband didn't care for the brioche bun but I love them so that's just a matter of taste. The Tetris fries were super crispy, hot, seasoned and delicious! My husband decided to mix some ketchup with the Cholula hot sauce for dipping... highly recommend! The quality of the ingredients was super fresh and made to order. I visited this establishment the morning of 5/09/23. I found them on Yelp by searching for gluten-free options for breakfast in Lexington. I discovered this was founded by an individual who wanted to help give folks a second chance at life, after recovery or serving jail time. This made me want to visit even more, because everyone deserves a second chance in life. The staff were super sweet and very helpful. They knew the ingredients in all of the dishes and were able to help me create my own sandwich. They have gluten-free brioche buns!!! Omg, i was in heaven. I ordered the Orange Marmalade Chicken Sandwich subbed with a Brioche Bun and without honey butter (since I'm dairy-free as well). It was delicious! The chicken was moist and tender, the orange marmalade was heavenly, and that brioche bun was fire! I also had a Gluten-Free Chocolate Chip Cookie which was nice and chewy, which is what I like in a cookie, although it was a bit grainy. My friend ordered the Southern Eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. She ordered a Lavender Iced Cinnamon Roll to go, to give to her friend (I'm not sure of the result from that, but it looked divine). All of the table tops are hand painted by various people and are lovely for viewing. The overall vibe of the place is laid back and chill. My friend and I did have coffee with our meals, and neither one of us liked the coffee. They offered decaf, medium and dark roasts. I tried the dark roast and my friend had the medium roast and both were very bitter. But, I did not visit here for the coffee, I visited for the food.
