I haven't been here for awhile so my friend and I decided to go for lunch. I haven't been disappointed with their food and this visit was no different. We were greeted by the friendly cashier that took our order right away as there was no line. I got the orange marmalade chicken sandwich and my friend got the cheeseburger and fries. They gave us a number sign and we picked our table and quickly our food was delivered to us by another friendly employee. The food came out hot and fresh and tasty! The fries are really good as well! I love this place and what they stand for. My brother in law is a recovering alcoholic and substance abuser. He's been clean and sober for over 20 years and is an RN . What happy serendipity! We were in Lexington for the Railbird Music Festival, wanted to start Sunday with brunch and found our way to DV8 Kitchen. We chose it for the convenient location and the resemblance to a NKY band by the same name. Don't let the counter-ordering process or cafeteria tray-paper plate service dissuade you. The food quality and quantity are on point and the prices are moderate. My husband rates the Southern Eggs Benedict among the best he's ever had. My Breakfast Plate scrambled eggs were soft and creamy and the large biscuit with honey butter was worth every carb and calorie. The coffee is excellent and we even splurged on their sweet-and-salty kitchen sink cookie. As if that isn't enough, DV8 Kitchen is a second chance employer for people in recovery and everyone we encountered was pleasant and hard-working. This place is awesome! Came here for breakfast. Make your own breakfast sandwich with a biscuit that doesn't fall apart as a sandwich, the smoked paprika aioli sets it apart. I'd give this place more stars if I could. First of all I chose to go here because they support hiring people with addiction issues that are in recovery. I'm a drug and alcohol counselor and this concept is amazing and should be in every city in every state. Then there is the food. Omg. So I tried the special of steak and street corn tacos, two in a serving and they were amazing! I also wanted to try the clam chowder but didn't want a whole bread bowl, they were very accommodating and let me just purchase a cup of chowder which was very good with chunks of goodness. The parking lot is huge, and there is plenty of seating inside. The menu is on the smaller side, but there are certainly enough offerings to meet any craving. I ordered the French toast sticks and an eggs benedict, with a sweet tea. The French toast was the perfect example of crunchy on the outside, pillowy soft on the inside. The accompanying syrup was great as it wasn't too sweet. The eggs benedict was ok. I would try something else were I to visit again. The biscuit was fresh and soft but not flavorful at all. I love DV8's food but even more so their mission to help those who need a second chance find employment. They have the best chicken marmalade sandwich out there and pretty much anything they make is good. They bake all of their bread in house and you can taste the difference with how fresh it is. It has a nice, busy, slightly artsy vibe. You order at the front counter, they give you a number for your table tent and then they bring the food out. It was surprisingly fast and service was friendly. We ordered breakfast plates, a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, a honey siracha chicken sandwich, a chocolate croissant, tots and coffee. It was around $50 for four of us for a great, fairly fast breakfast. The chicken sandwich was delicious! The chicken was nice, plump and crispy and the sauce was very good with pickles on a flaky biscuit. The tots were well cooked and seasoned. We visited this unique location for lunch at noon on a Saturday. It was busy but not overwhelmingly so. We stood in line for maybe five minutes to order. The food is delivered to your table, self service on drinks. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant! The vibe is ultra cool, the food is fresh and delicious. The service was impeccable. I've never seen a cleaner restaurant. I ordered one of the salads with the sweet cider dressing - LOVED! We also tried out one of the cinnamon rolls. Breakfast menu looks great. My husband had the hamburger with the egg. They use 100% black Angus ground beef. The patty was thicker than most places. My husband didn't care for the brioche bun but I love them so that's just a matter of taste. The Tetris fries were super crispy, hot, seasoned and delicious! My husband decided to mix some ketchup with the Cholula hot sauce for dipping... highly recommend! The quality of the ingredients was super fresh and made to order. A place that starts with a mission such as this restaurant has already got my vote for being a good place...but that doesn't mean they have to create good food and a pleasant environment, it is however what you get. Best burger in town was fantastic...meat was seasoned perfectly and the toppings complimented the amazing brioche bun baked in their bakery. The sliders were the mini version of my burger and my friend said they were crazy good. I mean, you'll still be smiling from the service at the counter when your food arrives and then, the smile gets even bigger! The Tetris Tater Tots alone would make anyone happy!! I had the Monte Cristo which is on the flakiest, softest pillow of a croissant I've ever eaten and hubby had the DV Ocho. He said it was one of the tastiest things he's had in a long time and almost ordered another one to go for later! We shared the tots that had a really nice seasoning on them and were piping hot!
