Honestly I hate to say anything negative about a small business but after a two year ordeal I have to. January 28, 2023 I went here because my nephew had gotten a few of his tattoos here, I wanted an industrial piercing so me and my two friends went in, I told the gentleman I was allergic to latex and the metal nickel. He said oh we use surgical stainless steel, figured he knew more then me, great so I got the piercing, thought it looked to high but my ear was a little swollen, he said no it will come down in a couple days, well I called two days later, was told "and industrial due to the cartilage can take a few days for the swelling to go down" okay well by 7 my ear was huge, Sunday I just did a walk in, the gentleman and maybe a supervisor pulled it out, cleaned it and said there was no infection and guess it just needed more time to heal and wasn't sure why it was still so swollen, but just keep it clean". Well the next day it hurt so bad I went to urgent care and they said I'd better remove it. I didn't want to go through that pain to have it removed so made an appointment with my Dr. she said Lisa "surgical Steel has 4% nickel in it" well why didn't the man at Bruce Barts know that, she said evidently he has no true training in his craft. Finally after locating and ordering, waiting two weeks for a titanium barbell to come in, by now it was in severe pain, I pulled the old one out cleaned it and pushed the titanium in. Now it took months before the allergic reaction to subside before the healing could even begin, 2 years later I finally can only wear only straight across barbells because the Bruce Bart technician made the holes way too high on the ear! Honestly it didn't press the issue with them because my family has a small local business in the area but I really wished they would train their technicians in a broader range! read more

Went in yesterday for a tattoo. The gentleman that did mine, older and wore glasses, wasn't the greatest. Let me start with this was my 6th tattoo so I am no stranger to this. To start, while in the middle of drawing and discussing the tattoo, he pushed it off on someone else because he needed a cigarette. Bad vibes began then and I didn't really want him to do my tattoo. He wasn't personable either. My tattoo started and I immediately knew I wasn't going to like it. His line work is horrible. He made my tattoo so incredibly dark with almost no shading. My leg is still throbbing and bleeding. Never have I ever experienced pain and blood like this with a tattoo before. He didn't even wrap my tattoo after finishing it before leaving. Again, never have I ever, gotten a tattoo and left an establishment without having my tattoo wrapped. I am going to wait until it heals to see how it looks then, but I have already started thinking about cover up ideas. read more

I was reluctant to come to a shop in Ft. Lauderdale as 94% of people in this city have or have had major drug usage problems( that was a made up statistic). Turns out, this is actually the nicest shop aesthetically that I've been to. Very clean. I had a piercing done by John White and he was so gentle. Luckily he was not coked out on special K, meth, or any other fun recreational substances. I highly recommend this shop for piercing; I'm not sure how the artists work. read more

Went in to Bruce Bart tattoo the other day for a consultation on a tattoo idea I wanted. The artist ray lopez designed something for me that I could have never imagined myself and was completely blown away, he seems young but you can tell he's got drive and motivation his work speaks for itself, super respectful and polite guy, but also loose and cracking jokes, really creating a nice atmosphere and helping me feel more comfortable relaxed throughout the whole experience would definitely recommend him. I wanted to get a shoulder tat but I still didnt live in Lauderdale that time, so I guess they applied the typical tourist trap: Asked me to leave a $50 deposit and later cant find a way to schedule me for the job before I had to leave. Didnt want to return the deposit. Insisted on it being my fault of having left a deposit. Never again! Hope my $50 brought them far. read more

I just got a septum piercing yesterday by John. He messed up the first piercing than he said he can do it again or wait to heal and do it again. I get more compliment on my Dragonfly tattoo than I can count. I'm not too smart. I drew the idea on a piece of scrap paper, which I brought in. The tattoo artist took 5 - 10 minutes to talk to me about what I wanted and then went to his computer to do some research. He came back 30 minutes later with a really cool drawing of a dragonfly and the Chinese character for truth. The dragonfly is done in a Japanese brush stroke style. I can't say enough great things about my tattoo. I am actually planning on going to Bruce Bart's to have Kelly cover up my other tattoo since I got that one while young and very drunk. In the end the only thing that I can say is that, my mom likes my dragonfly tattoo. read more

I am completely pissed off after my experience here. My friend and I came in to get tattoos done by Nick. These are not our first tattoos, but they were the first ones we have done with this shop. At first, I liked how mine was done and how it appeared after Nick finished. As it has healed, however, I've noticed that what was left after my tattoo started to heal was that pretty much all the color came off when it peeled. The tattoo is now much much lighter and looks completely different than it did originally. Again, this is not my first tattoo. I know how to care for one and allow it to heal properly. I've never had this problem with any other tattoo. As it turns out, my friend is going through the same issue with hers. Nick used too much gray in her tattoo and too much shading, and she is not happy with hers either. I also think both of us were ripped off in terms of price, as other Yelpers mentioned. I have much larger tattoos that cost as much as this very small one (it's my cat's paw print), and the large tattoo I have on my lower back cost as much as what he charged my friend ($120). He charged me $75 which he said was the minimum, but that went up to $84 when I used a card. Seriously, it does not cost $9 extra to run a credit card. We are both going to have to have our tattoos fixed, but we certainly will not be coming back here. Avoid this place! read more

Unfortunatly I get this place negative number. I am from Mass and my friend and We wanted a small tattoo. Went i to this shop on Sunday night and made a appt.. for Monday at noon. WE GAVE HIM A 20 deposit. They said they were open at 11am. We got there at 11:30, no-one was there (locked doors). So a bunch of my friends and I were on a vacation in FL visiting from Long Island, NY. Most of us (5 of 8) decided we would go get some tattoos. We went in and they started working on us right away. Although they did have a couple of appointments come in as well, they definitely took care of us in a timely manner. Me and my good friend got matching palm tree tattoos which were HAND DRAWN by Suzi Gann. They came out AMAZING! Love the free hand work she did. One of my other friends got an upside down cross on his leg by John Coiro which came out beautiful and precise! As I was told from another friend, John used a protractor to make the cross perfect! Two other friends (husband and wife) got the exact same tattoo which they found online and John Chance ended up doing their tattoos. Came out Beautiful! This tattoo place was very clean and the staff was super nice and VERY patient with us. We were allowed to walk next door to get food and go in and out to check on each other as only one of us was getting a tattoo at a time. lol don't go for anything related to piercings, over priced and clearly don't know what they're doing. I went to switch out a piercing and it took around 30minutes. It was a waste of time, money, it was very painful, and frustrating due to the fact that he couldn't get the job done efficiently. He kept messing up and dropping the back piece of the earring. I've gotten non-painful piercings for $10. To switch this piercing out was $15 for the jewelry + $25 fee for it to get switched out. $25 to switch out a little piece of jewelry is ridiculous. #regrets read more

I went in for an ear piercing and the person who did it clearly did not know the anatomy of the ear very well or proper placement as far as nerve endings etc are located. I ended up in so much pain after and my ear would not stop bleeding. My ear was red and purple for months after and I felt pain going all down my ear. I've had multiple ear piercings before and have had no problem with any of them except for this one. I ended up having to take it out and to this day (several years later), I still have pain where the piercing was. I do not recommend this place for a piercing. read more

Blow outs, scars and he put a wrong perspective on a simple re coloring job. He was rude and pushy about scheduling and pressured me to come in on days I had to work after I told him my normal 9-5 mon through Friday schedule. He was texting while doing the tattoo. He was more involved with his phone texts than doing what I was paying top dollar for. Stay away and just get it right the first time. He was reluctant to even give me a quote at first. Mike is a true artist at heart, he reworked an old tattoo for me that turned out amazing and designed a new one for my husband that he loves. I actually had checked with 4 other tattoo places including Bruce Bart and Mike was the only person who took the time to figure out and design something for my old tattoo, all the other guys I went to see told me to have the old tattoo removed and go back and see them then. If I could give it negative stars, I would. I went in on a Sunday where I was told I should come in from 2-3pm. When I got there, Suzie attended me. She said she had an appointment so she couldn't tattoo me that day. Unfortunately, I tattooed an ex-boyfriend type tattoo on my right wrist and I told her I wanted it covered up and I showed her what I wanted. She drew a rose (which wasn't even close to what I asked for) but it looked decent so I was excited to see what else she could add to it. But that was it. She made an appointment for me to come in on Wednesday (3 days after the initial meet). My appointment was made for 2pm Wednesday. I get there about 10 minutes early, walk up to the shop and both doors are locked. The sign says they're open. I peek inside and there's no one there. I sit in my car and proceed to call them over 10 times. I figured the more I call the more likely they are to pick up the phone. Long story short, i ended up waiting over 35 minutes and no one ever answered the phone or unlocked the doors. So I left and went to tattoo blues which is totally bad ass! hello I went to Bruce Bart to get my second tattoo of a phoniex bird I talked to Mike GORdillo and I explained to him that I wanted to get it outlined on my shoulder and the wings will come over my chest and back. He told me that he will charge me 310 that was before I knew there rate is 150 an hour.. I came back the next day at 10am he was setting up when I got there and I filled out paper work and he started my tattoo at 10.15 and was finished at 11.20 an hour for my outline with no color and he charged me 310 plus 13.00 dollars to use my debit card he said the owner was to cheap to pay the fee so that's why the customers had to pay it.. The tattoo was to small and he over charged me.. When I called him and explained how I was unsatisfied he became so so rude and told me off.. I was told by another tattoo artist that this isn't the first time it happened and he had to re due another customer tattoo.. I called the owner but he never returned my phone call I think they encourage them to over charge customers.. Please make sure they don't rip u off... Don't don't don't go to Mike Gurdillo he's a complete rude arrogant nasty Asshole.. He will over charge you for little work. 323 an hour.. The owners doesn't care i hope they lose more business..I'm telling all my friends. read more
