Impressed after reading the first review for Dr. Bruce Householder, I decided to seek his services after my motor vehicle accident. My main concern was his lack of personal attention when it came to treatment. He spent so little of our sessions actually feeling my muscles that I didn't feel comfortable continuing treatment with him. I have gone to two chiropractors prior to Dr. Householder and an additional physical therapy center since I was in his care, and I can confidently say that his treatment was the least hands-on of any office I have ever been to. He would often hook me up to an electro-stim machine and just leave the room. There was one instance where i felt one of the pads was not working and I tried to call for someone, but no one came by until the very end of my treatment time. Additionally, my personal care physician learned that Dr. Householder was giving me high velocity treatments (cracking my back and neck) for my injury and told me to stop that right away. This address is a facility that houses many chiropractors, not just Dr. Bruce Householder, so communicating through the many receptionists was often difficult. When I was shopping around for a chiropractic office, one of the receptionist told me that the regular visits would cost me around $60 a session. In total I saw Dr. Household 5 times including the consultation. Even if the consult was $200 and not included in the first visit, $60/visit x 5 visits = $300 $300 office visits + $200 consult = $500 for total treatment... A far cry from the $900 that Dr. Bruce Householder said he would estimate my charges were at the end of all my treatments. I definitely would not trust any estimations neither the doctor, nor the office receptionists tell you. There is a complete lack of accountability in this office. While I had to keep track of all the billing for my auto insurance company and made that very clear on countess occasions to Dr. Bruce Householder and his many receptionists, I have yet to see a copy of any bill from Dr. Householder's office. While Dr. Householder was friendly, when it comes to personal medical care and well-being, a good personality just doesn't erase sub-par treatment and dismal service. read more

I have personally searched high and low for a chiropractor with the background, knowledge and bedside manner that would listen to me thoroughly, take into account my lifestyle physically and the previous problems that I have had. Being referred to Bruce was an absolute godsend. He helped me find the core issues of the problems that I was having physically and immediately went to work. I had relief after our first appointment together, after the second even more and I am back to the lifestyle that I am used to living which is everything to me. My husband had to work in LA for a few months and was under Dr. Householders care. He has gone to several chiros in the past. My hubby didn't rave about him, nor did he ever complain. However, we have had issues with our insurance denying the claims. Dr. Householder's office is really lax in bookkeeping, which complicated clearing up the claim issues. read more

I saw Dr. Householder for the new body sculpt treatment. I had been working out for about 3 months with a personal trainer in preparation for a trip to Hawaii and was still having some trouble areas around my stomach. The first 30 minute session I went to see Dr. Householder was cut in half for some reason. I was in a lot of pain and he barely asked any questions where exactly it hurts.He went down my spine a couple of times with the palms of his hands to see if my muscles are tight. A couple minutes later, he tried to crack my back but unsuccessfully because he didn't even warm up the muscles so they would "let go''. I thought he was just having a bad day,so I gave it another shot and made yet another appointment. Everything was the same.....quick "adjustment'', session cut in half ,lack of caring and didn't even tell me what I should do to ease the pain. My first few visits here were okay. It wasn't very busy and it seemed that Dr. Bruce concerned himself with my health at first. I was turned off by the general unfriendliness of the other doctors. They would look up and see that I wasn't their patient, and look away without even a smile or a hello. The adjustments I received were plain Jane and there was no special attention given to me. I have had some good chiropractic care in the past and I was looking for a new doctor. The "herding" of patients from one room to the next wasn't really apparent to me until I arrived on a Tuesday evening around 5 and it was a bit busier. First the roller table room, then the electro-stimulation room and then finally into the adjustment room. I was left in the first room and forgotten. 45 minutes had gone by since I arrived in the office and I had been left on the roller table at least 35 minutes. The room with the roller tables was used by all the staff in the building. There is other equipment in there as well. Another doctor came into my curtained off area and began moving equipment, opening the curtains, working over my head and working with another patient without ever saying,"excuse me', or even,"Hello". All within inches of me. This was very discomforting. This wasn't the first time I felt the other doctors and staff at this facility were standoffish and unfriendly. I got up from my table and proceeded to the front desk to inform the girl that I had to leave, as I needed to get to work. She answered a phone call and I waited until finally I left. I was very disappointed and I expected to at least get a phone call from Dr. Bruce or the office staff. I received no such call. I haven't been to a chiropractor in years, but my back was especially tweaked after lifting some heavy furniture, and the aspirin wasn't doing much for the pain. I found Dr. Householder through my insurance company and called his office to make an appointment. They had an available appointment later that day, which was awesome because I was having a hard time even sitting in my office chair, the pain was pretty unbearable!! I arrived at the office early to fill out some new patient paperwork (they're pretty thorough with the questions about your medical history), and the guy at the front desk was really nice and helpful. When I saw the Dr. come out my first thought was "Why isn't this guy working on his GTL?" Haha! Not what I was expecting... He looks like he spends a lot of time working out and getting his tan on, BUT don't be fooled! He was extremely professional and very nice, asked me a lot of questions, and did a thorough examination to assess where the pain was originating from. He then had me lay down on one of those massage tables for about 15 min to work out the kinks and spasms I'd been having....Let me tell you, that machine is magical. It felt AMAZING. After I was done with that he brought me back to the room where he cracked my back (scary idea, but he was quick and had nice bedside manners, talking me through the anxiety of it), and also tested the muscles around the area. He said I had a really tight band of muscle around my right hip flexor and then recommended some yoga poses that would help me to stretch it out and ease some of the tension. It's been a few hours since my appointment and my back still feels great!! Haven't had to pop a single aspirin, and I'm feeling pretty comfortable in my office chair. I scheduled an appointment with him next week so he can do a follow up, but I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is having some recurring back pain, or just feeling a little out of whack. I was suffering with a lower back injury caused by over tight and inflamed hip flexors. I sustained the injury while working out. I spent 2 weeks enduring the pain, unable to workout, thinking that it would just go away on its own. I finally went to see Dr Bruce Householder and in just 1 session my pain was gone! If only I had gone to see him sooner. Instead I stubbornly took pain medication and tried to treat myself with instructional videos on YouTube. Big mistake. Dr Bruce knew the exact treatments to apply for my injury. He used several methods of treatment including massage (traction table), heat, electric stimulation, manual adjustment and other equipment. He even showed me stretches to do at home. He is truly an amazing and caring doctor. His office was professional and the staff was polite and friendly. Easy parking and no wait...definitely not expected when going to a doctor's appointment! His fee was so reasonable that I'm considering maintaining a bi-monthly session with him to keep my joints and body healthy. I have been a patient of Dr. Bruce Householder for nearly 10 years. Initially, I consulted him when my recovery from favoring a healing (broken) left tibia resulted in back pain. His good care and professional approach enabled me to make a complete recovery; manifested by my return to my softball team a few months later. I continued to see Dr. Householder thereafter as needed, mostly for what I call "maintenance," as time and aging take their toll (I am now 53 years old). In recent years, I have recovered from an extended hospitalization and a hip replacement. Dr. Householder has always been available and willing to assist in any way he could with my recoveries. Too, he has always been there to treat the minor aches and pains that I suffer from physical training and softball games. I have complete confidence in his skills and judgment. I have referred colleagues from my office to Dr. Householder and they too have reported great satisfaction with his care.
