Mediocre medicine and a predatory billing scheme designed to extract money from injured, out-of-work patients while maintaining plausible deniability. This clinic charges a recurring $70/week fee for EDD disability certification. Their own staff confirmed it is a one-time administrative task, and said the recurring charge was "policy". What makes it even more brazen is that they also intended to collect this fee retroactively. California law prohibits providers from garnishing EDD benefits directly, and this clinic knows that. So instead they've constructed a cynical workaround: dress it up as "policy," charge it out of pocket, and bleed it from someone who is already injured, already unable to work, and already financially vulnerable. It is clearly not an administrative fee, it's shameful exploitation. The care itself was no better. Despite several visits, the pain increasingly got worse and two weeks later, we ended up in urgent care. My partner went in with what was almost certainly muscle damage from repetitive work at his job, which he shared with the clinic. They jumped straight to a misplaced rib diagnosis. They recommended heat and rest exclusively. Two subsequent providers told us they would not have jumped to the same conclusion without more telling indicators, and also instructed us to apply ice before heat in order to reduce swelling and inflammation. My partner asked several times about rehabilitative exercises, and each time he was told rest was the only option. The second chiropractor and urgent care physician we saw both provided exercises immediately. This clinic misdiagnosed, mistreated, and then tried to financially exploit a vulnerable patient. About a year ago my health insurance provider said I have the chiropractic benefit via American Specialty Health (ASH) and I didn't want to waste my benefit. I did a quick search and Ace Chiropractic Clinic was covered under the ASH network. Ace Chiropractic Clinic specializes in sports rehab and providing services from ultrasound therapy, active therapy, GTC (graston/theragun/cupping), KTape, chiropractic adjustment, electronic muscle stimulation, massage therapy, paraffin wax, CBD, etc. [Parking]: While there's an onsite designated paid parking lot, I usually have no issues finding free street parking within a block away from the building. Glendale Galleria parking garage is also just a block away. [Prices]: My insurance was supposed to have $25 copay (consultation and adjustments only) with extra $50 for machines (e-stim and roller table) or extra $60 for 20-minute sports massage. Unfortunately a year later I learned from my insurance provider that I do not have chiropractic benefits managed by American Specialty Health (ASH) and I ultimately decided to pay off any remaining balance (additional $40 per session) that ASH refused to pay. [Service]: The staff was extremely courteous and I really appreciate Wynona from the front desk patiently awaited my appeal response from my insurance provider. I never had any issues with the staff after visiting the clinic for about a year. [Visits]: I came here once a month and all doctors are amazing including Dr. Melissa, but if you can get an adjustment session from Dr. Michael himself then it is your lucky day. Dr. Michael is really strong so I could feel the power whenever I get an extra complimentary massage session on top of routine chiropractic adjustment sessions from him. Not only is he a honest man, I definitely felt pain (good kind of pain) each time he massaged my back. Doctors here believe different philosophy than other chiropractic clinics - they believe in doing what you love & anything physical activity is better than doing nothing. I definitely missed my 20-minute medical massage session with Jess - painful at first but relieving afterward. Unfortunately Jess left Ace Chiropractic Clinic and went to somewhere else in late 2023. I have been holding off my visits now that I have a different health insurance with no chiropractic benefit, but my experience here was way above my expectation and I can definitely see myself re-visiting here if there's ever a need again. read more
