Unfortunately I have taken the Valium for the procedure and now it's wearing off. What now? The narrow minded DEA would not allow for a replacement medication because of schedule rulings. I would now need to reschedule with no medication available. I get it these things shit happens. The scheduling asked me to come 30 minutes early. I could have come an hour later and still been on time. I suspect if the scheduling department had been locally located things might have gone smoother.

My cardiologist was out of the office beyond the time frame I needed and I'm in the keys and he's in California. By chance I thought I'd try to walk in to the Cedars Sinai cardiac office in Marathon. Even worse, it was right at lunch time so I figured my chances weren't looking good. I walked in and apologized for coming in during what was obviously lunch hour, but Marisol listened to my dilemma and got right to work. She was so accommodating and after working the phones and her magic, she had me an appointment with Dr Joan Homan in Key West for the next day. Dr Homan was terrific. After giving me a cardiac check up she gave me the clearance for surgery and brought up some other issues to pay closer attention to. Upon getting back to Marathon I had to check in with Marisol. She set up my follow up appointments and I was on my way. I must say, since coming to the keys and living pretty much full time here, you get used to the "Island Schedule". Would have probably had to reschedule the surgery but for Marisol making things happen and Dr Homan and the Key West team for squeezing me in to their busy schedule.
