I'm always looking for recommendations and ideas, they have the answer. When my nephew told me about peanut butter whiskey, I was so intrigued and couldn't wait to try it! It's made by screwball! So when I asked "my guy" at S&P about it, he said all of CT was a-buzz about this whiskey and due into the state December 1st. . Unless I wanted to drive to NY or NH, I had to wait. So wait I did and on that first Tuesday of December, my guy had the case of screwball in the back of the store, waiting for me to come and get my bottle(s)! I should have about 30 check-ins here, again, what does that say about me, but moving forward...

There is also a good selection of beer, chilled and not, local, regional, national and international brands are available. They sell American Spirit cigarettes! The staff are friendly and helpful. Once, I had an awkward set of purchases and was assisted by a friendly worker with carrying my purchases to the car.

The owner is super nice and friendly, and made excellent suggestions to us. They have wine in there that I've never even heard of, which is a super good and awesome sign. I can't believe we've lived 5 mins down the road from here for the last 2.5 years and never thought to check it out. If you want Scottish or Irish whiskey that you can't find in other places, def come here, chances are they actually have it. I also bought an amazing $80 huge bottle of Kentucky bourbon, and it's one of the best bourbon's I've ever had. If you're in the Rocky Hill/Wethersfield area, you def need to come here, because they have something for everyone.

I will admit to patronizing several of them, but my search for a local liquor store as ceased with the discovery (and more frequent patronization) of Townline Discount Wines & Liquors, which surpasses them all. Yes, they carry a wide range of mass produced wine, beer, and spirits but they also carry some unique selections, all at competitive prices. They also have a good selection of local, craft and small batch beer (which I appreciate more and more). In addition to the selection, they get high marks from me for their customer service. The owners have always been very friendly, helpful, and accommodating, even going as far as to offer to purchase a varietal of wine not on their shelves. Now that's customer service!

I haven't been disappointed by the wine recommendations occasionally tucked between price labels, including a recommendation for Sunset Meadow Vineyards. Chris helped me find a couple light but flavorful brews, and pointed them out in the cold case too. Alas, no more New Britain Bev Mart but at least this store, Middletown, and Wallingford are still around, and I think they've got it all.
