This is a local wine and spirits shop that has been in business for 30 years in Cromwell. For a small shop, the wine selection changes often and is very good. The liquor and beer selection is small but decent. The prices are competitive but might not be the cheapest you can find. The people are great...attentive but not pushy. One of the guys gives really good suggestions for wines to try that are different and in a reasonable price range. Conveniently located right off the highway smack between Cromwell and Middletown so it's really perfect. Easy pull in and parking. Small shop and a bit awkwardly set up but fits the bill if you're visiting the area for a picnic or BBQ and need to bring the beverages. This is not the place to score high end bottles for close to cost pricing. read more

Great find. Like a surfer dude, I, like countless others have gotten caught up in the search for the perfect wave, or in this case, micro brew. Willowbrook offers a decent selection of "regular micro's" and weekly hard to find specials, usually a limited number per person. I had previously reviewed WIllowbrook a few years ago and gave it a glowing 5-star review. Since then, their craft beer selection has slowly dwindled, taken over by fruit beers and ciders. Gone are the days where I'd walk out with a bag full of interesting things to try. Their prices also used to be really good, but I guess all good things must end. Now, they're more expensive than CT Beverage Mart and Liquor World, sometimes significantly so. I noticed a bottle of Don Julio 1942 on the shelf at $149, which is probably the most expensive I've ever seen it anywhere. Their beers are priced on the higher end of things now. I'll also admit that I kinda miss Tim and Ally, who were extremely helpful and seemed to have their pulse on the craft beer scene. They used to be my go-to liquor store and I'd go out of my way to visit, but now I'll probably just stop in when I'm nearby. read more

It's hard to believe that I haven't reviewed this glorious booze sanctuary despite all the times that I've walked through the door, so here goes. I am lucky enough to live close-by, so I am able to go in and stalk their incredible selection of craft beers pretty often. Not only do they have a cooler with 4 and 6-packs, but they have a really impressive selection of bombers. Occasionally they also get pretty rare brews, like Sip of Sunshine and Gandhibot. I'm quite the beer snob, so that's what I normally focus on, but I can't fail to mention their great selection of wines, hard ciders and hard liquors as well. The prices are comparable to other liquor stores, but the service is unbeatable! All of the employees are extremely friendly and helpful. They are always happy to go above and beyond and that's really nice! I've been in there on a few occasions where I've gotten a few items and an employee has carried my purchases out to the car for me. That never happens anywhere else! So if you're in need of some good booze and friendly people, this is the place to be! read more

looking for an interesting beer, stumbled in to willowbrook and left with 12. staff was friendly and wanted to help. they had a few beers in stock (this time it was sam adams fat jack double pumpkin) that no other stores still had on the shelves.. for this, i think this is my new closest to home favorite beer store. prices seemed close to others or maybe a little higher, but still reasonable. read more

This place is great. On the very few occasions I've had to purchase wine, I've gone here, and they have never steered me wrong. I'm the type who will come in with a vague idea that I want a red or a white and then choose by the price tag and the label on the bottle, but they're really good about steering me in the right direction. They don't try to upsell me, and they just ask what I'm pairing it with. I always learn a litlte something every time I go in. The customer service here is just as good as it gets. Dedicated parking in plaza for their customers. They are sooo helpful, always help you bring your stuff out to the car, friendly, neighborly, knowledgeable, the best!! I wish they did wine tastings more often (currently just Friday from 5-7) because what they sample is usually pretty good. If you're looking for highly sought after craft beer this is your one and only destination. They carry a wide selection of bombers to 4 packs. A lot of local stuff too. Make sure to get on their mailing list to hear about new arrivals that don't last very long. The staff is friendly and extremely knowledgable. If this gave a 0 option i would give that chris the co owner or manager of this place is a complete tool acts like he owns the town and is suchva mr know it all well so he thinks shopped in here 2 or 3 times and if your looking for a brand that dont carry and wont comprimise they are quick to see you out they are overpriced and the product from the coolers is luke warm someone should open up a package store across the street in the empty lotvand put these guys out of business like boards on the door out of business go to cromwell package store right next to price rite read more

My biggest issue with this establishment is the customer service. The manager seems nice enough, but the same cannot be said for the staff. One particular, 20 something, employee (who works there a great deal) is consistently disrespectful and dismissive, for seemingly no reason at all. I understand that we all have bad days, and that no matter how hard we try those days can follow us into work. But when you're just plain rude to customers every time they come into your store, the bad day excuse becomes null and void pretty quickly. A small store, with a mediocre liquor selection, and poor customer service, this place doesn't rate high in my book. I suggest driving the extra minute down the road to the spirit shoppe in KMart shopping plaza. They have just as good a selection and the staff is much friendlier! read more

My boyfriend and I have been here twice now, and we are huge fans. The selection is fantastic (especially of pumpkin beers; the proprietors know their stuff when it comes to my favorite seasonal flavor!), but more important is the feel of the place - the staff has been consistently kind, courteous, friendly, and most important: helpful! They are always willing to help you seek out or order whatever you are looking for, and will spend the time to chat with you about - well, anything! Mostly drinks-related, but they are friendly and simply a very good store. (I know I didn't touch much upon the actual PRODUCTS, but they do have great variety, all very quality choices, and really what sets them apart is the service!) We didn't catch the name of the guy who helped us the first time, but we were sure to ask the second time (Hi, Tim!). We'll definitely be back there quite a bit, as we have friends who live down the street. read more
