Visited again in 3/20 at 8:15 am and was shocked to see that almost every bagel was gone except 3 flavors. I am sad to see the quality of this shop especially on Grand Ave. go so downhill. Inside was full of Uber pick ups, a line of folks waiting for pickups and a cluster on where exactly to order. I hope that owners take serious consideration on the business model, cleanliness and consider the population visiting. Saint Paul would adore to have and see a bagel shop thrive. In a perfect world, the line should be out the door every morning. read more

I love Bruegger's bagels for their bagels, but find them very disappointing for service. We no longer live in the Twin Cities, but every time I return for a visit, I pick up a bagel bundle to get me my fix of delicious chewy bagels. The only problem is that I actually have to make sure I count them. The last two times we've visited, they've shorted us by two bagels AND because they no longer offer the plastic bags for freezing, the first time I didn't know. This time the counter person stuffed all of them in one medium sized paper bag. I could tell by the weight that some were missing. When I informed him of such, instead of taking them back and checking himself, I was left to ask for a second paper bag to spread them out on the counter to count. As I suspected, two bagels were missing. Glad that I stopped and counted this time. Come on y'all you can do better than this. read more

I was at the Grand location Sunday a.m. (around 9:15), 10/12/2025. I've been a Bruegger's customer for at least 30 years and have been to various locations (downtown St. Paul and Mpls., Eagan, Savage, Stillwater, Grand, Roseville, Sun Ray, Woodbury) multiple times. In the early 2000s I was a member of the bottomless mug club (still have the two travel mugs that I got by being a member). Until recently, the status quo was the customer would go to the deli counter and place an order. Often the order would be prepped and put on a tray (if dining in) or a bag (if to go) before the customer got to the check out. At the check out, the customer would order a beverage and pay for the entire order. Since Panera came to the Twin Cities, I've spent more time there--Panera seems to have a lot more stores in the TC; also, I joined Panera's coffee club a few years back, which is an incentive to go to Panera. Bruegger's still has a coffee "club" but it's not the same concept as the one from 20+ years ago--now a customer can get free coffee with an order but only if the order is placed online or through the app. In the past the only time I can recall bad service was a few years ago at the Sun Ray location. During co-vid when restaurants were closed to dining in, I started going to the Grand location. I would order a bagel/cream cheese, coffee, and the twice-baked hash browns (which came out in 2020). Then I would stop at the nearby Summit Lookout Park at the top of Ramsey Hill. That was a popular hangout for lots of folks. I would find a nice spot to sit, eat my food, and read a book. Since co-vid receded, I seldom have gone to Bruegger's until the last few months. I've gone to Roseville about three times. I was surprised to see that the order procedure is completely different--now one goes directly to the cashier, places an order, pays, gets a beverage, and then waits in the middle of the dining area (where there used to be several tables) until one of the food preppers calls out the customer's name. Now the customer is handed a bag. The only seating available for dining in are the booths (I think there about five) that line the front windows. Don't understand why all the tables had to be removed to have a place for the customers to stand while waiting to get their orders. Re my recent trip to Grand. . .same concept as the Roseville store (very little seating for dining in), customers order at the cash register, and then stand in front of the deli area while waiting for their orders. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese, twice baked hash brown, and coffee (I brought my trusty old Bruegger's mug). There was one person at the register and FIVE people behind the deli counter, all milling around. With the new concept of ordering at the register, the order apparently shows up on a screen at the far side of the deli counter. Then apparently whoever isn't already working on an order, does the order at the top of the list. While waiting, I noticed that several times the register person would yell to the deli staff re one of the orders waiting to be completed--it was a clarification on a particular order. While I didn't actually check the time from when I placed my order to when I received it, it seemed like it was a pretty long wait--maybe 10 minutes. I went to the booth near the front door. I had the Sunday papers and was looking forward to enjoying my food and reading the paper. That pleasant scenario didn't play out when I unwrapped my bagel and separated the two halves. There was only a scant smear of cream cheese on one side. I SCRAPED some cream cheese off the one side and spread a very THIN layer on the other half. The twice-baked hash brown was another disappointment--it was barely warm around the edge. The center was cold and the cheese in that area was congealed. Ugh! I did not go back to the deli counter to get more cream cheese for my bagel or to have my hash brown reheated. I definitely will not be back to this location. I read all the one- and two-star Yelp reviews for the Grand site before starting this review. Many of the customers had the same complaints--slow service, messed up orders, barely any cream cheese on a bagel, etc. Many of the concerns go back a few years and have been ongoing. Bruegger's has responded to many of these reviews, apologizing for the negative experiences the customers had. Yet, Bruegger's apparently has done little (or nothing) to address the concerns since they are still occurring. There's an old expression: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." There wasn't anything wrong with the way Bruegger's was doing business before (customers ordering at the deli counter, paying at the end) so why was it necessary to change things? GO BACK TO THE WAY IT WAS!! read more

Do not enter this place! I usually DoorDash from here, but I don't think I'll be eating at Bruegger's anymore! The atmosphere is stale and old. The carpet looks hideous. Why wouldn't want to eat from a place where the environment does not look welcoming! I feel like the carpet is super old and just looks like wet gross. Sad to see this going on. read more

One of my favorite bagels places. My only issue is the only way I can order is to go in person. Their online ordering doesn't not allow for customization and most of their bagels come with meat and they don't have the option to take it out or anything else for that matter. I used to be able to call ahead and make my takeout order but now they don't take single orders or bagels orders over the phone just donuts or large orders. It's very frustrating and time consuming to have to go in person and wait for 30 minutes just for one bagel. read more

Just sad. Ordered pumpernickel and the bagel was HALF the size of a normal bagel and poorly made. if the bagels don't come out right, through it out. Before I start my rant, let me just say that what happened to me isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. That said...how does this place stay in business? I ordered two things, one of which was a bagel, and they screwed that up. How hard is to get ONE bagel right? I called and asked to get it delivered (in theory they offer delivery), but they said they couldn't do that; I'd have to call DoorDash. I asked for a refund. They said they couldn't do that over the phone; I'd have to come in. Like I'm ever going to go there again. I see some positive reviews below. I love coffee & bagels more than I could possibly explain, but was so disappointed by this Brueggers on Grand Avenue. There's a sign on an unused table stating that the eat-in option isn't available but the booths & other tables have customers eating at them. The place itself looks dirty, not great customer service either when getting a coffee to go. They must do a huge pickup/delivery service because the ambiance isn't friendly. Sorry Brueggers, next time I will go a few blocks and enjoy my bagel & coffee at a sit down coffee shop establishment. read more

What happened to the Brueggers I grew up on for 15 years?!! This location has gone downhill fast. I was hoping that my last two times being here in the last six months were just flukes and not representative of the state of the store. Unfortunately I was wrong. This store is filthy!!! Floors and counters filled with crumbs and trash. Service is slow and poor. The feeling of the store is just sad. The seating area is not taken care of nor welcoming for guests .Don't go on a busy weekend morning as their new system of ordering creates waits of 25-30 minutes with no organization. I pray the store, and owners take their store back and restore it. Otherwise, I don't see it lasting much longer. I will be taking my future Bruegger's orders to a cleaner, more efficient, and better service location. DO NOT GO HERE! read more

Disappointing. I got the lox bagel and a coffee and was a pit surprised that it was $12. Seem like a lot for a chain but whatever. My bagel was cold and extremely soggy by the time I got it. I kind of assumed it would be toasted or they would at least ask me if I wanted that as an option but nope. On top of that the coffee was absolute garbage. It tasted like there might still be soap in the dispensers. I learned my lesson. Sticking with local mom and pop shops if I wanna pay that much for a bagel sandwich. read more

When it comes to bagel chains, Bruegger's is my first choice. The bagels are always super fresh, soft and chewy any time of the day. And I'm a huge fan of their breakfast sammies! The wife and I needed a little Saturday morning pick-me-up without much effort so Door Dash was where it was at. The food area was a mess with crumbs and smears of different foodstuffs all over - pretty disgusting - and something easy to correct. It wasn't busy - just clean up!!! The young guy who waited on me was either sleepy or bored out of his mind. Said nothing, made no eye contact. Food was fine but I won't be back. The only reason I gave 2 stars is because the guy at the cash register was nice. Wrote this review a while ago and forgot to post it... stopped in again today (desperate for a bagel and it's close to home). There's a new system - pay up front and then stand around waiting for your order. There were five people ahead of me in line and about 20 (!) people standing around waiting for their orders. I left. the workers were very nice but the cream cheese was not. came here with 4 friends 4 of us got plain cream cheese on our bagels and it was very sour. My other friend got strawberry cream cheese which tasted completely fine. We went back in to tell them but they remade them with the same sour cream cheese. We felt bad for complaining especially after I had already pointed out to them that my cold brew and almond milk were separating which they said was normal. I love this place, not only because of the bagels but also because of Danielle and the other staff there that have made every visit very enjoyable each and every time. I have been going here for a few years and I just need to let everyone know that these guys are a tough act to follow. I like the atmosphere and how they make me feel when I do business with them. This was my third awful visit here. The last time I was here they made both sandwiches wrong. This time our pick up order was over 45 minutes late. It was very busy which I understand but there is no reason it should take that long to make 2 bagels. Go to a different location. The staff here are also not very nice. I am very disappointed about how you're employees handle food safety. I work in the food industry as well. And I have managed restaurants. I visited your place today at 8:20am. I was excited to try since it's my first time to try your bagels. I was so disappointed how one employee did not change her gloves after serving a customer before me. Then she proceeds on handling my food with the same gloves. I will not be coming back at all after seeing how much they don't care about the safety of their customers. I told her to changed her gloves but she just looked at me as if I don't know what I'm saying. I think management should look closely on food safety. Service was so slow. Ordered online 15 minutes before getting there. Had to wait an additional 15 minutes upon arrival. If you're in a hurry don't go here. They were out of several bagels as well. Doesn't look good when you're out of briefly every type of bagel other than plain and sesame. Order was missing aspects as well. Dirty floors, counters, and I assume dirty where the bagels are made, too. Inattentive staff, with what looks like a dress code that allows them to wear anything as long as they throw the branded polo over the top. Literally 0 energy in there. Bruegger's used to be a nice place to go to nurse a hangover, have a chill morning in a booth with a bagel or two and my coffee. The manager here does the bare minimum, and you can tell by the staff that has been hired. I have maybe had one good interaction with a young woman working (I haven't seen her in a while), and I have lived in the area and frequented this location often. I have gotten food poisoning from the breakfast sandwiches, received uncooked bagels, or just messy presentation and preparation, etc. This place is a joke and I would be embarrassed if I were the franchise owner. By FAR the worst restaurant on all of Grand Ave if you ask me. People used to take pride in their jobs, no matter what the pay was. Not anymore. read more

This branch is not able to handle the mobile app. It's RIDICULOUS. I order ahead of time and stand there waiting while they work though people who walked into the shop AFTER me. I absolutely LOVE Bruegger's Bagels, and this location ALWAYS has fast service, and friendly staff. I know that it is a chain, but I will always go to this Bruegger's in order to leave with a smile! They sometimes struggle because it is attached to a caribou, so the computer system gets complication, and glitches a lot. But the employees always keep a smile on their face! The one day it glitched last week, they gave me my drink for free because I had a free drink that wouldn't register. They didn't have to, but it made my day :) read more

Stopped in on a recent Friday morning for a treat for a coworker and me. The bagel was hot and apparently so was the dude making the bagels. I was skeeved out - he was sweating and I didn't like it. I have not been to Brueggers in a few years. We stopped in for breakfast. We each had a breakfast bagel with egg, cheese, and turkey sausage. They were pretty good. Nothing that I could not make at home way cheaper but just OK. We also bought day old bagels, a 6 pack for $2.99 which I thought was a good deal. I will most definitely come back to get bagels. Next time I think I will try the cheddar/jalapeno Bagel. I hear that one is really good. We brought our own Starbucks in so I can not speak to the coffee here. First time that I've ever been here and I wasn't 100% satisfied with my visit. The food was great and the service was fast but the human interaction wasn't great. The girls behind the counter didn't seem to care about much. They weren't bad but they didn't smile, I may sound like I'm complaining but simple smile can change the direction of somebody's day.
