One of my favorite bagel places in the cities! Super yummy and reasonably priced. Love how they play music from vinyls. There isn't much seating so it does get kind of packed but they're very quick with their service so it's pretty easy to grab and go.

How have I not known about this place until now? Nice, central location right off diamond lake and Nicollet. Small inside but also plenty of seating and good for small groups. Lots of options and things to put on any bagel you can think of. The names are also super clever and themed by music legends! I was feeling basic that day and built my own sausage egg and cheese bagel which was good. It cost about what you'd expect for a breakfast sandwich. Staff were also kind and quick! If I'm feeling for a bagel sandwich again, would definitely return

This place has easily become a favorite. They don't stay open late but they do open early. Depending on the time it can be a bit busy but the service is great. Street parking is usually fine. I'm not in love with their coffee but the bagels are amazing. Love love love the bagels and sandwiches.

Sausage, egg and cheese on everything

I first tried St. Paul Bagelry bagels at a brunch event and was so impressed with the flavor, texture, soft interior, and crusty exterior. When I visited their shop in Minneapolis, I was slightly less impressed. I ordered an egg, cheddar, and sausage on an everything bagel. It was quite greasy and lacked flavor. I've had a better breakfast sandwich at Brueggers? I did appreciate their selection of yesterday's bagels, a half dozen for under five dollars. They do well in the freezer and can be reheated in the air fryer easily. Minnesota is not a bagel state, I'm aware, I just wanted to like this spot much more than I did!

I've been craving a lox bagel and St. Paul Bagelry satisfied that craving! I also ordered an iced vanilla latte and wasn't expecting much but it was DELICIOUS! I do wish the bacon and egg bagel had more egg/ filling. It felt a little flat, but it still tasted great. They had so many bagel and cream cheese options, I wish there was an option for a bagel flight!

I met a friend here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The dining room is nicely built out: inviting, light, and has a diner feel. It's like a modern version of a NYC delicatessen. Speaking of NY, I saw they had lox on the menu, and promptly ordered that with an everything bagel, a bag of chips, and a can of fruity San Pellegrino. To say that it didn't disappoint would be an injustice. I was in awe as I bit into this Lox sandwich. The lox was perfect: moist, full flavored, succulent. The bagel was soft, flavorful, and abundantly garnished in everything toppings. It is the best Lox sandwich in the cities, hands down. I might even say it's better than some Lox I've had in NYC and in LI. One thing of note is that you do have to fend for yourself with street parking. I parked across the street by the Garden Nursery. Luckily there weren't too many Christmas tree shoppers. If you're into bagel sandwiches, this is a pilgrimage. I will definitely be back to try the other fun sandwiches on the menu.

Great, great Bagel in my opinion...breakfast sandwich though is hugely disappointing! Such a great vessel..the bagel, such a disappointment with the effort put in to the sandwich! I wonder if lunch is different?

Growing up in NY, I've had my fair share of incredible bagels and after seeing a few TikTok's found around of some New Yorkers claiming these bagels were just as good as anything you'd get in NY, I knew I had to give it a try. When we came in on a beautiful Sunday morning, the place was packed with a long line almost out the door at some points. They offer a pretty wide selection of fresh made bagels, bagel sandwiches, and coffees (Dogwood). You order up at a cashier and then wait for your order to be ready. There are some indoor seating options there but the vast majority of their business is takeout. We ordered two bagels to share: a plain bagel with egg and cheese (pepper-jack) and an everything bagel with plain cream cheese. The bagels pictured very nicely with some nice airy insides and a good amount of cream cheese, and a nice cheese pull on the other. However, the bagels were super disappointing for me. A good bagel should be firm on the outside with a nice crust and soft on the inside. These bagels were just soft all the way through. The texture of the crust was the same as the inside. Similarly, not enough gluten development and so it lacked that special chew that a good bagel should provide. Tasted sort of like bread in the shape of a bagel as opposed to what a NY bagel is like. Overall, I'd say this is better than some of the other options in the city that I've tried, but this place doesn't hold a candle to anything the northeast has to offer. My search for a decent bagel in the Twin Cities continues.

Issac Hayes, build your own on everything bagel, dogwood iced latte

Great breakfast sandwiches and amazing coffee! Bagels are on the thinner side which I prefer, so not quite New York style bagels, but still great. Service was also great!

Fire bagels from a local staple. We got the specialty bagels starting with the LutherVandross, the Lox, and the MacGuyver. The service was fast and friendly. The ambiance was unique with classic bangers playing. 10/10 Would recommend!

St Paul Bagelry is my go-to local spot if I am craving a bagel sandwich! The bagels are fresh, and i love the Italian zest of the St Paulie sandwich with hot salami, ham, pepperoni and provolone. They also serve Dogwood coffee, and you can also buy plain bagels with cream cheese. You order at the counter and can either take it home or eat there. There's sort of a diner vibe to the Mpls location, which is fun. The cashiers are typically very friendly as well. Mostly street and neighborhood parking is available, but I have never had issues snagging a spot.

Is this place dog friendly? I see it listed on a few sites claiming it is, but nothing in its Yelp reviews or website.

No. For a while customers were allowed to bring their dog inside to order. But a different crew was installed and when I went in to order with my dog, the manager started yelling, “ Get your dog out… Get out now!”. Many coffee shops in Minneapolis…

Milk substitutes for coffee beverages?

Yes, thanks for asking. Soy and almond milk.

I was on the street in front of Clancy's when one of their customers was mis-identified as an officer of an organization that was terrorizing Minneapolis. It had nothing to do with Clancy's! As I tried to get to my car, people yelled the most obscene and disgusting epitaphs at the couple in front of me. I was just walking down Grand Avenue. They were even spitting at this innocent individual. As a liberal who marched for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam during the 1960s and 1970s, I was horrified. Blaming Clancy's is ignorant, and an integral part of how this country is dismantling. On one side is a meat market with a variety of cuts of steaks, lamb, and other meats, which all looked fresh and quite nice. They also have a variety of items such as canned goods, pasta, eggs, etc. on the shelves opposite the meat counter. The entire place is quite sunny, pleasant, and cozy. On the other side is the eat-in, take-out deli sandwiches, that are made to order. The quality of the ingredients is excellent. The bread is freshly made (crispy baguette type) and you have a choice of Roast Beef, Roast Turkey, Tuna Salad, Smoked Ham, or Corned Beef. All sandwiches are $16.50 each (including tax) and come with a choice of mayonnaise, spicy stone ground mustard, red leaf lettuce, thin sliced red onion, salt, pepper, oil, vinegar, raw grated horseradish, pickled jalapeno, and roasted bell pepper. The default includes all toppings so if you don't want everything, be sure to specify what you do NOT want. Surprisingly, they do not carry any diet soda, nor do they stock any national brands (only local pop). There is a large menu on the wall, and you order at the counter and pick up the order (no table service). The food was attractively presented, and very, very good. My only gripe (besides the lack of diet pop) is that it's on the expensive side for lunch. Two sandwiches, a couple of bags of chips, and a couple of cans of pop will easily top $40, although I'd say the quality is top-notch.
