This place is always good and doesn't disappoint. The server we had this time was very friendly and sweet. She engaged in conversation which I like. The prices have gone up a bit, but that's everywhere so we really can't complain.

This place feels like a big diner. Service, I wouldn't say was slow but It didn't feel like they really were trying to get our food to us. They got my French toast wrong I ordered a cinnamon toast French toast and not the banana French toast. They also over cooked the eggs a smidge. It wasn't a terrible experience. I still enjoys my meal overall. The tomatillo chicken bowl was watery, and flavorless (except for the guacamole and black beans), I would skip that next time. The yogurt and granola bowl look really pretty, but is deceiving because underneath the layer of yogurt and granola is a whole bunch of pineapple... service was fine, and food was also fine. We'll come back again but probably try something else on the menu!

Delicious pancakes!! So many types to choose from, some I would never have thought would go in a pancake! Very spacious, many tables available. Great staff, constantly coming by to refill coffee and drinks and check in. Perfect place for a nice breakfast.

6 oz steak, soft scrambled eggs, maple bacon salad

I'd like start by saying, normally this place is amazing. I've been trying to eat healthier, so my choices on the menu were probably not great. I was sat at the bar, which worked perfectly because I was just killing a bit of time. The environment was very live. There were a ton of people there and they all seemed to really be enjoying their food. The server was very fast to fill my drinks and take in my order, even though I could tell it was very busy. My Order: 6 oz Steak(rare), 2 Soft Scrambled Eggs, Maple Bacon Side Salad, Coffee The steak was very bland and the eggs were just fine. The Salad was okay though, it wasn't too large, but it had good sweet flavor. The coffee was what you'd expect. I would recommend checking this place out, if you haven't. Maybe avoid the steak and salad and go for something a little less healthy.

Chipotle Benedict - chicken was dry with no flavor. Pumpkin pancakes were amazing!

I generally love Original Pancake House, and the Roseville location was no different. Whenever I go to a restaurant, I always try to order what they're known for, and you can't go wrong with their pancakes! The pumpkin pancakes are my favorite, and I try to sub their original pancakes wherever I can. However, I'm also a huge savory gal so I usually get an egg dish as well. This time I tried the Chipotle Benedict with shredded chicken. The hollandaise sauce and the eggs were perfect, but there wasn't any "Chipotle" flavor at all. I think it was just labeled that but I didn't notice any of the flavor that the name would describe. The shredded chicken was also pretty dry and I didn't feel like finishing it. I did get hashbrowns on the side which were a bit unsalted - I ended up adding more salt, and then they were perfect! I did still give the restaurant 4 stars because the place is clean and well kept and the staff - especially our server - was extremely friendly. The food also came out quick. Overall I would definitely go here again, but maybe stick to the pancakes or their other sweet dishes.

Staff was soo friendly and just kind. Their spirits were up on a Sunday morning. Food was great. Definitely would recommend. And the fresh squeezed OJ is literally fresh Oranges made the day of. Me and my daughter got would rate this place 9/10. (Maple grove is still my fav location)

Came here with my family and worth the visit! They told us it would be about a 45ish minute wait and they will hold the table for 5 minutes after the text that it's ready. The table was actually ready for us within 20 minutes so that was a nice surprise considering how the lunch rush was. Waiter was really patient with us and super attentive. The entire vibe definitely felt like a bustling Diner and the decor was very cute! I got the breakfast burrito with hash browns on the side instead and my brother got the breakfast burger. The food portions were so much bigger than we expected but it was absolutely delicious. Definitely worth the wait! We also ended up buying two cute mugs that they sell, you can pick right from the glass shelves they have in the entrance!

Had a decent Sunday brunch here, this place is always so packed but we had a reservation so got seated right away! The service tends to be a little slow but the food was better than I expected it to be Shared the strawberry banana Dutch pancake with a side of bacon and that was delicious- with all the syrups and whipped cream tasted like dessert! The omelettes also looked very good and big portion wise- the only thing they are missing are brunch cocktails but it's more of a family oriented restaurant Loud and busy but expected for a Sunday

It's been a while since I've been and decided to give this place another try. I have to say that as long as you stay away from ordering a kids juice you'll be good on price. I had their pancake special which was a gingerbread man cookie flavor that was so so so good. The bacon is always delicious and service was great. Because we got on the waitlist before hand there was not that much wait time to do. Food was delicious and came home with leftovers!

This is probably one of my favorite breakfast spots in the area even if it's a franchise! I've been here a number of times and overall it's been consistently good. The space is overall nice/clean but it can get pretty loud. They also have patio seating which I haven't tried but planing to in the future. I like how they have fresh orange juice. The thick-cut bacon and the hash browns are a must! For the pancakes, the chocolate chip pancakes are supreme in my book! I would recommend trying the specialty German pancake/Dutch baby pancake at least once if you're interested and got the time to wait for it. I tried the Apple Pancake and it was kinda like a gooey cinnamon bun that's also eggy. It was very delicious and sweet! It can definitely can be shared amount 3-4 people. I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance if you're coming here on the weekend- you usually don't have to wait was long. My main reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is because sometimes even with a reservation you have to wait 10-15 min if it's busy. I also think the service at times were slow. Plenty of parking too.

This place is A1!!! Breakfast was amazing! Always hot and delicious! We have not had a bad waiter/waitress, friendly and knowledgeable! Restroom was clean. No need to wait because we always sit at the bar. A must visit!!!

    Millie C.

Super busy breakfast spot! We got on the waitlist around 10am and did not get seated even until 12, so we decided to sit at the bar. The food actually came out super fast. I got the sausage links and eggs and it also came with pancakes. We also got the western omelette with hashbrowns. The hashbrowns were crispy. I also really enjoyed the orange juice as it had lots of pulp and tasted fresh! I enjoyed the meal here but not sure if it was worth the two hour wait. There was also only one server at the bar so definitely need to ask for some things twice but the service was friendly.

I took a seat on the patio while I waited for my friend to arrive...and I waited a good 10 minutes for the server to bring menus and eventually water. When my friend arrived it was probably another 5 minutes before they came around again. My friend ordered an iced Chai and I stuck with water because they didn't offer brewed iced tea. (Note to restaurants: Stop getting the fake tea from the fountain pop machine! It tastes horribly.) There was only one server and a manager (or the owner). There weren't that many tables but it was noticeable their staff was stretched very thin. One we placed our order, it would be another 20 minutes before we'd see our food. Only after I stopped the manager when our food would come, he popped in and came right out with our dishes. The food failed. My friend ordered the Ropa Vieja Benedict and I had the steak scrambled. My friend stated the eggs and meat was cooked perfectly but the basil hollandaise sauce was made with mustard (powder) and he could barely take two bites before stopping. My steak scrambled was cold along the edges, the eggs, were cooked well, but the steak wasn't seasoned and even the salsa was bland. We had to flag down our server (again) because she failed to check on us, to ask for the checks. Thats when my friend said he wasn't going to take the food home nor did he think he should pay for it. Keep in mind this was just breakfast so I can't speak for all the other offerings but given this experience, we won't be back.

I'm sorry Jason. You really had my hopes up when you were talking about Betty and Earl"s biscuits…read moreon your show but you've proven to me once again that unless you were raised in the South or by a Southern transplant you don't have a clue about baking soda biscuits. A good southern biscuit is hard to find in Minnesota. In my house they are served warm. and soft, usually fresh from the oven. A dab of butter melted inside sets them off perfectly. If a restaurant in Minnesota says it has Biscuits and Gravy I can't resist trying it only to be disappointed over and over again. That being said, KFC and Hardee's both have a good biscuits. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with frozen Pillsberry Grand Buttermilk Biscuits. Not the ones that come in a tube. So why would I go to a bakery in a mall that opens at 11 to get a biscuit? I trusted Jason. He sounded so sincere. Huh! Big mistake, I should have checked out his genealogy. The actual place is in the food court in the Rosedale Mall and the sign says, "Seeet and Savory by Diane" . The first warning was seeing the biscuits on a covered cake tray like you might stack doughnuts. These people are bakers after all not cooks. So, we wait for the lady at the counter to finish helping the person in front of us and then we asked for biscuits and gravy. The lady walks over to the sign and shows us the little sticker they added that says, "Weekend's Only". I was already wondering why anyone would start serving breakfast at 11. While we were trying to figure out if that applied to every item on the board or just the biscuits and gravy another customer got in front of us. We decided to ask for biscuit and egg sandwich's and a cup of coffee. Well, they only make one craft of coffee a day and when it's out it's out. If we wanted coffee we were told we need to go to the Brew and Waffle concession a few feet away. Alright no big deal, but over there no one's behind the counter and I am baffled as to what is going on. It doesn't seem to be self serve but there is a young lady sitting at the counter eating. Finally she gets up and acknowledges me by telling me she's on break but but since I'm there, she'll help me out anyway. She made it very clear that I was inconveniencing her. Well then, put up a closed sign or a "Back at 1pm" sign. Let's just skip on to describing the biscuit sandwich or more precisely the $10 (the sign said $8 I think) biscuit sandwich. The biscuits were big and thick and yellowish in color. I wondered if they added cornmeal to the flour. They had a gritty texture but not as gritty as cornbread. Ok, next time we'll try Betty and Earl's Minneapolis location. And Jason, spend a weekend south of the Mason-Dixon line and learn a little more about biscuits. Damn! I'm so sorry! I forgot to take pictures.

I've had two meals from Betty and Earl's and both are meals I would order again…read more While the plague perpetuates I am only getting curbside takeout, and their system for that works just fine. Ordering from the website is easy; you can opt for curbside delivery, and once your order goes through you get an email with instructions to call them when you arrive. There is a handy little parking circle by the main entrance to Potluck; that area gets plenty of traffic but your call with a friendly B&E's person will ensure that they find your car among the group. I got the biscuits with sausage gravy the first time and the pulled pork open-face biscuit thingie the second. Both were really good. The sausage gravy was a great, meaty brunch item, and the pulled pork was really delicious. Having piles of shredded BBQ pork on top of those thick, freshly-made biscuits was a unique experience. As long as you don't mind getting your fingers a little messy - and if you're eating pulled pork then honestly what do you expect - you just form a pile on one of the biscuits and hold it by the biscuit as you snack it down. There will be leftover meat that you can eat with a fork. I got yummy fresh cookies both times as well, and ended up full and satisfied. One issue I have with the website is that there isn't a description of the entrees, so you don't necessarily know what will come on them and there's no option to request, for instance, "hold the pickles". But that's about it; I really like the food I've gotten here and will keep it coming.

From the hostess who graciously held the doors open for us in the 95° heat to our incredible server, David, everything was outstanding. We started with cocktails. I had what may have been the best bourbon Old Fashioned I've ever tasted, and my wife enjoyed a wonderfully refreshing cocktail (whose name I, unfortunately, can't remember). We began our meal with the roasted Brussels sprouts. Normally, I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts fan, but I happily cleaned the plate. My wife and I shared the 12-ounce filet mignon, cooked medium rare, and it was absolute perfection. Chef's kiss. David recommended a bottle of wine to pair with our steak. It wasn't inexpensive, but it was worth every penny. But wait... there's more. As incredible as that wine was with the filet, it somehow paired even better (yes, I know that sounds impossible) with the slice of heaven they call chocolate cake. I'm sure it has a much fancier name on the menu, but "slice of heaven" seems more accurate. If you've read my other reviews, you know I have a tendency toward hyperbole. If there were ever a time to lean into it, this is it. THIS MEAL WAS FANTASTIC. THE AMBIANCE WAS PERFECT. THE FOOD WAS EXCEPTIONAL. AND THE COMPANY WAS DIVINE. The Caesar salad has officially been added to my regular rotation. The jammy egg was cooked perfectly with a rich, yolky center that was still easy to slice. The Parmesan crisps were thoughtfully sized, adding great texture without being so large they scraped the roof of your mouth. The salad was evenly dressed, making every bite flavorful. Overall, excellent food, outstanding cocktails, and warm, attentive service. I'll definitely be back.

As a musician and audiophile, hearing something moving or stirring can illicit a very visceral emotional response. I experienced a very similar response with that very first bite. My appreciation for the art of cuisine brought to perfection by Diane Moua literally caused my eyes to well up. This may sound like hyperbole, but it is not. The egg rolls were light and crispy and oddly nostalgic. The bamboo & cabbage swimming in coconut curry was my entree. On its own, it is perfectly balanced with the right amount of salt, acid, and umami. I tacked on some sticky rice and Hmong hot sauce...use with caution! It's potent but so delicious.
